In my opinion, the Game of Thrones Prequel Series will mostly cover The Dance of Dragons. These are some of the greatest events in Westeros' history. It's not quite as original as you might think, a lot of this is very heavily inspired by actual history. Huge chunks of this narrative resemble The War of the Roses, but with dragons.

I think its important to note Vhagar wasn't just some dragon that happened to be large. Vhagar was the mount of Queen Visenya, one of the three original dragons that forged the realm alongside Aegon the Conqueror atop Balerion the Black Dread.

Ironically, it was Prince Daemon and Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen's heirs that eventually sat on the iron throne for generations, while the Green Targaryens went extinct.

Through her the resulting Martells claim their lineage to House Targaryen. Though it is distant and less significant than direct Targaryen line or Baratheons.

I don't know, just sounds like Targs fighting each other. Original GoT all the greater Houses played a bigger part then it seems like they do in this story, Dance of Dragons. Also, everyone was rooting for the Stark kids not some faction of the Targaryen family over the other. Maybe they'll make the show more compelling then some Targaryen infighting.

The Dance of the Dragons is such an epic story with so many incredible badass characters: Daemon Targaryen, Aemond Targaryen, Cregan Stark, the winter wolves, the two Blackwoods, Benjicot and Alysanne, Baela Targaryen, Corlys Velaryon as well as his two sons, Alyn and Addam. I hope they do the story justice. They could do at least three seasons. The first one beginning with the Great Council declaring Viserys the heir, then jumping a few years to the scene when Lucerys cuts Aemonds ear, and ending the season with Aemond killing Lucerys. Then the second season ending with Daerons death and Aemonds and Daemons fight. And the last season ending with Cregan Stark riding north. There is a lot of potential and I hope they can do this incredible story justice

What I hate there is that dragons had to kill each other in order of their master being able to seat on throne. Like Targaryens did destroy the strongest unit in their army by their ambitions to be thhe "one".

If done properly, this could make for an AMAZING show. In my opinion the BEST way to achieve this aside from the story being well paced and intriguing would to have both sides be equally likable, so they would have to talented actors/actrsses portraying both sides of the conflict and TALENTED writers of course. I say this because if both of the main women in these are just earlier versions of cersei, we wont really care which lose and just tune in for the chaos which I would still watch and enjoy. But that flies against what made the original so good. We had characters on both sides that we wanted to live and survive and achieve their goals. When you have a story where any character can die, and you can’t help but like and support many characters from both sides. It makes it so much more engaging on an entirely other level.

I was afraid they were going to start with the dance. Thats a shame cause so many great things happens before and we won't see it, we'll just hear about it through dialog i guess :(
