JIimmy's mantra 'competence above all else'

It's amazing how much more likeable Criston is when he's actually doing the thing he's good at, rather than projecting his own insecurities onto others and being face down in a queen. In all likelihood, he's probably the best, most experienced and capable person the Greens have to lead an army, which was eluded to in season 1 when Rhaenyra chose him for guard because of that exact reason. He's still a POS though. Lol.

It feels like things are closer together in this show because King's Landing, Driftmark and Dragonstone are all right next to each other, we don't really go anywhere else in the show like we did in Game of Thrones. Also a lot of travelling is done by dragonback which is obviously a hell of a lot faster than walking or by horse.

They toned down Mysaria's accent in season two. In season one, I could not understand a word she said, which resulted in me largely forgetting her contributions to the show. In season two, she is already so much more memorable and interesting to me because I can understand her haha

love that Alicent swears "on the memory of my mother" bc it's a direct slap in the face to Rhaenyra who lied to Alicent's face in S1 while saying the exact same thing, i love a catty callback😂 Also loving how this season has scenes in complete darkness where i can still see everything that's going on

The "feet" rant was really funny. If my memory from psychology class still holds, foot fetishes are actually very common, because the somatosensory cortex (one of the parts of the brain that deals with emotion and intimate desire) directly abuts the part of the brain that deals with feet/toes. In the womb, those wires can easily become crossed, to where a person can experience arousal from visualizing/touching another person's feet (particularly common in males.) It's, in essence, a sort of form of autism.

The look on Alicent's face when Rhaenyra made clear which Aegon her father was talking about. Priceless. I can't wait to see how this knowledge will affect Alicent's relationship with her son.

To be fair, Dragonstone is really close to Kingslanding. The reason it took Stannis a while was he was bringing his whole army. Note, Gawain said it took 3 months to get from Oldtown to Kingslanding.

So what I realized with The White Worm, I think she adjusted her accent and delivery over the course of filming season 2. Because episode one and three is not so bad, but episode two it’s awkward like season one. They film episodes and scenes out of order. Anyways, she’s not all bad - it seems like she changed it at some point during filming, toned it back, for the better.

Ultimately although it was good to finally bury the hatchet on this whole thing so that Rhaenyra could finally go to war (despite how utterly ridiculous the implications of the scene are), it wouldn't have mattered if Alicent had listened to Viserys or not. ChadOtto was ready with the small council to put Aegon on the throne and I doubt Alicent would have been able to stop anything at all if she wished for Rhaenyra to take the throne. There was always going to be a war of succession because quite simply there were Houses who wouldn't accept Rhaenyra and she weakened her claim by giving birth to bastards adding more fuel to the fire. As amazing as Viserys was, dude really fucked up the state of the realm.

By the way jimmy something that everyone either missed or left out of the editing (or both as left out cuz they missed it) The servant girl in the tavern the one slapped in the ... It's Diana the servant that was sent away by Alicent in season one with silver and the moon tea. After Aegon ... She was also seen terrified while serving him but he didn't recognize her.

Ngl this whole "women are peaceful" thing they're pushing is making some of the characters (namely Rhaenyra) feel pretty dumb. Also, did Rhaenys forget she has the highest kill count or does it not count because they're poor people?

Thank god a reactor with a brain watched this episode, and ofc it is one of of the OGs (somewhat). So many people I've seen going "why, no mistake? why, it is never too late!", like what, how it is even going to work without Alicent and her kids not being cut to pieces by Daemon, even if somehow the line "Look, Aegon, I mixed up a bit, your dad didn't really mean for you to be King, it is song of ice... it is all complicated, you gotta go, honey". I get people being too "naive in the head", or just good people who believe in good and somehow think this story they are watching has a "good side", but honestly, it is too much. And also, Rhaenyra somehow needing this validation and listening to that pretentious horseshit about "men fighting men oh those angry men, kin vs kin booo-hoo, go to Alicent". Like cmon, a couple of kids died already, including 4 year old and your own son, bums in the Riverlands fighting each other, Daemon fights anyone he sees (there was 0 reasons to punch that poor guard with a hilt in the face probably breaking his nose). Strike first, start killing important people already, don't be passive. I know it harsh thing to say, and what kids call "a hot take", but Otto was right from the start about the conflict, and he was right that killing Rhaenyra and her kids, and Daemon preferable, would've secure the peace, thousands would've lived. Yes, if they were going to usurp the throne. But, if Rhaenyra would've ascended, she would have to do the same in order to secure peace, and I don't think she has a stomach for it, so even in case of Rhaenyra's ascencion it would be war. Also, and I know people hate Otto, for pimping his daughter (correct move for a man in his position and for his time), for manipulating thing, but the man served as Hand for three kings, during peace, and he is far more effective bureaucrat than Rhaenyra or Rhaenys or any of those "men" on the council that Rhaenys hates so much.

the comment on things happening quickly after the first couple of seasons of game of thrones isnt a new observation. in the source material, how long it takes for information/people to get from place to place is something the author thinks about a lot. they send aliser thorne to kings landing with a zombie limb to ask for help in the first book, but by the time he gets there and can get a meeting, the hand is just bones and they dont take him seriously. the only reason this isnt a factor for the main characters in this show is because they have dragons. another thing that youll probably notice in this show since the author is more involved is people wearing helmets a lot more. george rr martin has noted how it bothers him when people in fiction are running around fighting without a helmet on so you can see the actors face

It's so stupid they made Alicent believe Viseris told her Aegon should be a king. It makes their claim stupid right from the beginning and makes whole show pro black. Hate to be that guy but there is not such thing in the book and for a good reason, there we are shown that both sides have their reasons to claim the throne, not some stupid words that destroys claim of one side

I will disagree with you about the first seasons of GoT not having fast traveling: they do have it. With few exceptions, the characters travel from place to place very quickly. Only in seasons 3 and 4 we got more travelling scenes but only because they stretched out a single book over two seasons.
