Just had to fix this problem with a Jetson Rogue. One wheel felt like it was grinding or bumping, especially when changing direction. Pulled the cover on the side with the bad wheel and disconnected the 3 power leads going to the wheel (in my case a blue, yellow, and green wire). These go to the coils on the wheel. There should be some low resistance when you check across any pair. In my case the yellow and green pair read about 1.5 ohms. When I checked the yellow to either the green or blue, I got infinite resistance (open). So, I removed the wheel and disassembled it. I traced the yellow wire to where it connects to the coil windings and removed the insulation material. The yellow wire had almost zero resistance from one end to the other - which is good. But when I checked again to the blue and green it still read open. So, I wiggled the connection where the yellow wire connects to the coil winding while measuring the resistance to the blue wire and it bounced around between open and near zero. Found the problem. So, I resoldered the yellow wire to the coil wires and all good now!

Had the same problem, the hoverboard wasn’t working anymore, it beeped constantly when turned on and the wheel felt funny like you described. Turned out one of the mosfets on the motherboard shorted. I chose to replace the whole motherboard for 30 euro and now it runs like a charm again. Thanks for this video!

I'm glad you stopped me from buying a new wheel. My son has a jetson and one wheel lurches and makes struggling sounds. I tore it apart and found nothing alarming. Now where in the heck can I get a Jetson motherboard??....

UPDATE TO MY PREVIOUS POST: As I previously stated in my other post, my hoverboard had this same issue as described in this video, but I had yet to purchase a wheel. Just yesterday my new wheel came in the mail, and I was so excited. I installed it myself which took all of about 30 mins. NOW MY HOVERBOARD RUNS LIKE A NEW PUPPY. So it turns out it was just the wheel, but as I've said before, I'm still glad that I bought the motherboard because that's one less thing I have to worry about, even though I didn't need it. Plus, the new motherboard was better quality than the original, the wires were a little thicker. Hope this helps someone reading this.

I have had success with a similar issue My finding the faulty transistor And replacing it That is videos online showing how to find it (You should just be where it's necessary to disconnect the transistors before testing) I takes a bit of work but it saves a lot of money :)

Thank you for the info. I dug in deeper and found one of the Mosfets for the blue wire was shorted. I am ordering a new Mosfet for 7 bucks and will see if it works. I'm betting it will.

Not trying to complain, or discredit you Daniel (Canal silverbox), but taking your advice, I did this and replaced my motherboard, and my hover board wheel still rotates with lumps. The rubber on the wheel is not damaged. I am happy that I purchased a new motherboard, because as far as problems go, that's one less thing I have to now worry about, but for anyone reading this, it's safer to replace THE WHEEL AND THE MOTHERBOARD TOGETHER...if this is your issue as he described in the video. I still have yet to buy the new wheel. Thanks for the video, no one else talks about this particular hover board problem.

Quero tirar uma dúvida com você, comprei um hoverboard que tem escrito a marca Yotech no site das lojas americanas, tentei ligar ele e não ligou, logo deduzi que seria carga da bateria, botei pra carregar e apertei o botão de ligar, apareceu led laranja da bateria no hoverboard, deixei por mais ou menos 3 horas e meia, e nada de carregar até ficar verde no hoverboard, deixei mais algumas horas e liguei, continuou informando led laranja, tirei do carregador e apertei no botão de ligar e não ligou, será defeito?

How would you tell if its the washer broken the wheel has got stiffer to turn like a hex or if its a magnetic problem both have the same stiff turning wheel

i had same problem. I took my wheel/motor completely apart, cleaned it , and reassembled. It turned smooth again. once I reconnected the battery, the "lumpy" sticking came back. safe to assume it's the motherboard?
