And the maintenance required for the 4-strokes is why you’ll never see a 50 y/o one. A 2-stroke gets fresh oil with every stroke, and has fewer moving parts.

Question have a 1985 50hp evinrude. Haven't ran n 25 years very low hrs less than 100 hrs . Soak each cylinder with pb blaster for 2 days and it turned over by hand . Hooked battery up and it started with either. Now won't start and compression 150 on top 30 on bottom. What could it b.

Question have you or anyone used quicksilver quickleen and does it work? I have a 1981 evinrude 25hp that runs but you can tell the carb needs to be cleaned but I don't want to spend $500 to have it cleaned.
