This is such a misleading title. While I love the idea behind Driftworks and the passion Phil Morrison has, they really didn't touch on how to build a drift car. I was expecting to hear the engineering aspect of it like the suspension setup and geometry, tyre pressures and damping.

There is close to nothing about "How a Drift Car is Built" in this video. Disappointing because I'd actually like to know. Especially something about steering geometry and ratio.

His AE86 is for professional drifting. When he said we don't need a whole lot of power he was referring to when we are LEARNING how to drift.

When I first saw this car online I thought "wow, a V8 86" But after seeing this drift in person, sit it in, look at the internals and stand behind it as it bounces of the limiter, it makes you realise how mind blowing this machine really is.

"One of the least important things... is power" Very well said, take the FR-S (BRZ, 86), it has just around 200hp and is one of the best bone stock cars you can buy for drifting. Suspension setup and lightness are the keys to a great drifting car, power comes later.

here in america, wannebe who watch tooooo much initial Ds, like to fully build their suspension thinking it add hp and then go roll race on the hi way with a guy with a same car but only has a ebay intake and lose to him and then gets all mad because his fully built suspension lost to a same car with a ebay intake. then the guy with the built suspension goes and try drifting and flew off the mountain on his first corner. Scott Hanson obviously if you have limited money performance is whats most important but once you have a nice car with good handling and power you shouldnt go changing parts even if they are 'bigger and better' when your exterior looks like shit
