One of the first massively viral videos on KZfaq was the "Fast Food Freestyle" aka "The Mcdonalds Rap". The video which featured a car full of teenage boys rapping out their Mcdonald's order in the drive thru. It would go on to inspire hundreds of others to film versions of there own. This in turn created one of KZfaq's first participatory fad trends. While the rap is well known, its creator isn't...as his video was widely ripped. Today I want to walk you all through the history of the Fast Food Freestyle, its impact online and in the real world, and also introduce you to the original creator.

I went to school with Joe. Funny dude. Most of those ‘05-‘06 vids were also shot for his “moment of Zen” segments for the school news. I remember when he ran for class president as a write-in candidate, with the slogan “I have a fancy briefcase” back in ‘05, and was a nominee for prom king.

@@gone.golfing Originally, he ran for class president as a joke, in junior year of high school, and that campaign made his popularity in school skyrocket; to where his videos, at the end of the school news segments, made the program bearable. They were like the proto-“Tim & Eric”. The dude went viral in school before he went viral on the internet. He also did a podcast talking about movies, in the 2010s, with a couple other friends from high school. But him, Zak, Jon, and Travis have been friends for a long time. Last I saw Joe, he was at our 10-year class reunion, about 8 years ago.

Used to work at a drive thru and you were given a $5 leeway for shortage/overage and if you exceed that, it's a write up that doesn't really mean anything unless you fuck up a lot. I worked a McDonald's drive thru backed in 06 and someone rapped the freestyle to me. after I heard it days before on KZfaq. My shift manager heard it as well and brought everyone in the kitchen to hear it in the front window. We all had a good laugh that night.
