Apparently, according to Miranda, Emily had been harassing her for over a year because Emily's former bf broke up with her to date Miranda, and Miranda was fed up with the harassment. Sounds like there was stupidity all around, including from the bf. Why couldn't the bf break up with Emily himself? Why have Miranda call her? That started the whole thing. In any case, smacking someone with a shovel is a pretty serious thing (could have just called the cops), and Miranda was relenting before the actual hit happened, although it apparently may have ended up saving Miranda's life.

When I was watching this video, I was surprised when he said the majority of people online were in favor of the girl who got hit by the shovel and that she got a lot of hate from it. That's trespassing no matter how you put it. And she only stopped when she realized "oh shit I'm the one limping away from this". She was fine about continuing to fight until she realized the other girl wasn't bluffing about using a weapon to make her leave if she didn't herself. So yeah, the attempt to enter the house to commit battery and trespassing with the intent to harm is why the other girl didn't get charged with attempted murder or assault/battery with a deadly weapon. While intoxicated. Because even our fucked up legal system knee this was just two hormonal girls, one admitting to being drugged up, pissing each other off until one of them got severely injured. She just thought she'd be the one doing the severe injuring.

Context does matter, and a LOT of GROWN people seem to forget that these were two teen girls just pissing each other off till one of them got seriously injured. The fact it was an accident still kinda matters and the fact they were BOTH prevoking each other does too. One's getting praised like she's in the right because she was the one that ended up getting hurt when she herself had that same intention. It was an accident because two teens were hyped up by their friends, no adult decided to look into this, they were being filmed, AND they were both just wanting to piss each other off as much as possible. If parents were involved and especially the one on drugs had been properly taken care of BEFORE this, this whole thing could've been avoided. They weren't taught how to handle things maturely and all they knew was how to "solve" problems violently I'm stead of communicating better or getting and adult. This was COMPLETELY avoidable. This could have stopped at any point but it just kept getting escalated and being children they weren't very good at handling it. We could have avoided the fight ENTIRELY, let alone the shovel, if some parents had been doing their jobs. So yeah it's more important to look into why they did it than sitting here stating the obvious fact that "she could've died". That doesn't do shit for preventing of fixing the problem. The lesson is "raise yo damn kids.", not "to kill a person hit them with a shovel at the right angle". You're just over here thinking morbid thoughts, that doesn't fix shit.
