Well, we ( the normal non drinking ones) should stay home from 6 p.m. to sun rise so as to avoid the DUI's. Yeah l know that wouldn't work. But gee whiz how do we not get hit by some person that thinks they can fly down the interstate going the wrong way at 110 mph. Thank you for letting me comment.

Honestly she was way more sober than a lot of the people you see on these dui videos. Since she didn't do a PBT I'd have to guess she was around... .010 She got pulled over for improper turn signal, which is super petty to be pulled over for. Again, this is speculation, but I'm guessing the officer ran her plates, saw she has a previous DUI, followed her and waited until she made some violation so he could get PC for the stop.

I have no sympathy for drunk drivers. Kudos to him for being a good cop, but she deserves none of it. A drunk driver is always one sip away from causing literal tragedies. Ruining multiple lives in a second.

That first set of cops were about the most professional I think I've ever seen. Enforced the laws, no egos got in the way, showed real concern for the Donna and seemed genuinely concerned for her future, all while finding a compliment in how she raised her kids not to drink like her

I have chronic, severe PTSD and it's upsetting for people to pull that "card". It's real, palpable and horrific. My brain dissociates and my body tries to shut down. There are many levels, but it's NOT the same as "I can't breathe". People need to be responsible, but never will.

I've was beaten as a kid, went to jail as a young adult, lost my house, kids, EVERYTHING in a divorce but I'm here to tell you I made it past all the pain and I'm living my best life. My mom died 10 years ago from alcoholism. I quit drinking five years ago. Alcohol is socially acceptable and yet it literally ruins millions of lives.

@@kbo8029 Unsure how you interpreted "vindictive." Do I detest any sort of substance abuse/addicts? Yes - I've had enough of my own experiences with them to know the drill. I do not feel vindictive - I don't desire to cause them any additional suffering. I just don't want any part of it. Of course I hope they are able to get clean and be a positive force in their own lives and those around them. But in the end it's completely dependent on them.

When the 1st lady said that getting sober isn't the problem, its staying sober, I honestly felt that. I too struggle with alcohol addiction. I had to also go to detox and rehab for almost 45 days to help treat myself. As of today, I'm 73 days sober. It's a real battle, and I hope that she eventually gets the help she needs.

I am so glad you had the self awareness/honesty to get treatment. I hope you never drink again, but if you do, just stop again, get treatment again. If you haven't already started to feel the rewards of sobriety, you soon will. Reinventing your social life/circle could be difficult, but so worth it.

Congrats! Every day is a blessing. Stay strong. Life sober is SO much more fun and rewarding than life intoxicated. Try not to go too fast. Remember it will take time to rebuild trust. Just go easy on yourself and make sure you have people you can call if you need to let off steam.

In the first video, I loved how the cop mentioned her prescription meds and the instructions on them that say “do not drink while taking”. That shut the lady up.

More people need to understand that if you're taking these types of prescription meds, you cannot drink.

Retired NYC Ballerina here - we do have EXTREME turn out stemming from hips thru the toes. We tend to walk like ducks! All she needed to do was stand in parallel position, it is VERY weird for Professional Ballerinas to do much in parallel but it’s most def possible!!! 😂 She’s no ballerina, she maybe took it 30 yrs ago as a kid - but nahhh don’t insult our profession lady!

A surprisingly tender moment when the officer initially offers to get the hair out of her mouth and later does it. He showed nothing but compassion during that entire encounter, especially with the counseling at the end. That dude is a hero; no doubt about it.

I used to tell my husband I was going to get cigarettes. Then throw the empties away at the gas station and proceed to buy full ones. I did in fact buy cigarettes though, so it was only a partial lie. He knew. He grew up in an alcoholic home so he knew all of the tricks and hiding spots. He found my bottles every time and I had some pretty damn good hiding spots, if I do say so myself.

Had she listened to their advice by not drinking she wouldn't be getting arrested. You can argue "she was throwing the bottles away" but she already lied and said she was getting gas. The first one is probably the best police stop I’ve seen, I applaud the cops empathy and patience. Scary and moving to see that the path I’m following leads to this. Cause the laws are a joke. First offense should be 6 months mandatory in jail and 1 year suspension. Second should be lifetime suspension and 2 years prison. I know that's harsh but it needs to be to scare people into not drinking and driving ... I've driven drunk before when I was younger, but if I knew I'd be locked up for 6 months if I got caught there's no possible way I'd have gotten behind the wheel.

I'm curious to see what spiel he has told this friend as to why he had to move out. He explained losing his job as "... for turning up for work with a hangover, ONCE!". When in reality he didn't turn up for work AT ALL, for three weeks, because he was drinking, TWICE!.

@@theflamingone8729that’s so tragic what a really rough road ahead if he doesn’t seek help. I’m a nurse and I will say without fail that alcohol has to be one of the worst addictions. They can use for SO long without it physically destroying them, there is a social acceptance around the purchase of it, the criminality around it is less so even the legal system won’t stop them for long. In the end they often tend to be in a nightmarish physical state and many develop dementia. The ways I’ve seen people pass ultimately due to long term alcohol abuse are some of the most upsetting. I hope that you live a more peaceful life now and that person gets help! ❤

@@mariella2884 thanks. He was very resistant to treatment. He said he couldn't not work for the 4 month rehab process. I pointed out that he hadn't been able to work without treatment. I gave him the forms that would enable him to ban himself from buying takeaway alcohol for 3 months, 6 months, 12 months or indefinitely (it's called the Banned Drinker Register), I doubt he will do that. Anyway, he's out of my life now. It's been clean and quiet here now.

I was raised, off and on, by alcoholics and drug users. This is what goes on when they aren't unconscious. Thank God for Great Grandmother's and Grandparents.' Those of us who survived still don't know why anyone chooses booze and/or drugs over anything. I drank and smoked to keep the peace and not be called names until I was 17. I was gone at that time. This brought back a lot of unpleasant memories. But kids, if you get free, go no contact, the sooner the better. Everyone around us told me you can't abandon your Mother. I didn't run sooner because I was taking care of the little one. Believe me, that is hard to finally do but I got them married off and I was gone. I highly recommend it.

Sober 20 years this month. I was in my 40s when I stopped drinking. I worked a very vigorous program. You can do it. But find a good room. It took a month for me to find the right meetings for me. Happy destiny, friends.

Perps are finally wise to the fact that there's a federal statute that states "If a detainee inquires 'what did I do?' or some variation thereof at least 250 times prior to being placed in the back of a squad car, they must immediately be released forthwith without any charges." Fortunately, most officers are able to get them into the car before they hit the magic number.
