Hello please help I have a PH.3 CY.60 VOLTS 440 AMPS.48 P.F.80 K.W.30 K.V.A.37.5 generator I nne to instal a Voltage regulator but I do not know what will work or even how to reconnect the CF+/CF-/F+/F- and the other two wires from the oposite side on the winding. I need help thanks Eric in Hawaii

Please reply Some of the avr two rating as sensing voltage and power supply voltage rating what does it mean. And some of the avr required some external voltage as -10 to 10 v what is it mean.

The connotation if you are mentioning diesel generator is that there is another type of connection for a gasoline engine as the prime mover. I do not see the need to mention the word diesel because the connection will be the same if gasoline engine is used to produce mechanical energy.

Ok good explanation,but my question is can i use that specific AVR with an electric motor as driver for the generator?,coz if i cannot use it with an electric motor this specific AVR for me is USELESS,or for the matter any AVR on the market.

Hi thanks for your comments and i think we can't use AVR for motors because if you want to control speed of the motor either you have to go for vsd or soft starter's Thanks

@@electricalmastar so if i'm not mistaken an AVR can control a motor increase the speed or slow it down based on the sampling the output of the generated electricity and according to specific parameters increase or decrease the speed of the motor right?in simple words... So why that specific AVR can control a diesel motor but cannot control an electric motor?

AVR can able to control the speed of dc motor but AC motor its quite different you need to change the frequency of the motor to obtain various speed that's why I said AVR we can't use for that

@@electricalmastar well if what you just said its actually true my generator is an AC universal motor running on DC at 220V DC with step ups in parallel to reach 220v DC so if that AVR can control DC motors i am good no need to bust my brain in order to find a substitute of AVR. Well i thank you for the quick answer and some clarifications you gave me,since i couldn't find anything on the Net whether possible or not for AVR to control any electric motor. Thanks again and have a great one!.
