Had a 6 puk clutch, with light flywheel installed in my r33 rb25det. Not recommended for daily driving, AT ALL. You need to ride the clutch and give it a good rev to make it take off smoothly. Very aggressive gear changes if you dont rev match it. Shudders pretty bad if you dont rev it enough moving from a full stop at the lights. Definitely has a learning curve when learning how to drive it. And another annoying thing due to the light fly wheel is the revs drop pretty fast in between gear changes, so you definitely need good control

I have a cushion puk clutch with standard flywheel in my R34 GTT with a built Neo and shes very easy to drive! Was scared it would be as bad as you described it, still have to kinda rev match it but I don't get bad stutter and it holds all the power I'm pushing! Glad I paid more for the cushion type as it is my daily

*Update So i had the clutch replaced, found one of my engine mounts were destroyed, Have installed a stage 2 clutch kit(Mantis brand), organic material(non-puk). As well as new engine mount. Car drives so much smoother and does not shudder at all. Still have the light flywheel installed. Is so much easier to drive as a daily, while able to put down power when needed

I was just looking up for reviews so i can decide what clutch to choose. I just jumped from 220 mn to 350 nm just with stage 2 modifications on my OPC. So i was kind of woried about what clutch i sould choose becouse in am pretty sure forged engine and upgrading the fuel supply would be next......so i need a 400 nm one and most of stage 2 clutches cant take that. Anyway......this video helped me. You literally covered all my question marks and helped me take a decision. Keep on rolling dude. More videos. I already subscribed.

Literally delivered pizza in my daily ep3 with a 6 pluck. Been driving it for over two years. Lol I've gotten used to it. And my mounts were shot the entire time. Been running hondata for a little bit and just got full custom exhaust. Then I just put hasport mounts in it, and the clutch lasted maybe 50 miles and started making noise, and slipping in 5th. But 30k on it as a daily. Can't argue that considering I drive it hard. Lol So I ordered a fx400 as well. I'm still waiting for mine. And it's going boost when clutch goes in. Did you ever do an update video? I just had a 5 puck performance clutch put into my Holden VE SS Commodore (A Chevy SS to you guys) and had the hardest week of my life driving especially at slow speeds and in first and sometimes slow 2nd, but it seemed to start coming around now. I think it is more that you need to re-learn how to drive it and you'll be fine. I kept trying to drive it as I did with the old clutch and kept getting chatter. I learned by slowly releasing while revving up past 1k revs then letting go as soon as it bites

I have an 06 ralliart and changed to a lightweight flywheel and 6 puck clutch all at once after 250k km and let me tell You do I regret it? No. Do I think it's a little pain in the ass? Well trying to avoid getting to loud with a cop nearby? Yeah probably in this case it is a real pain... my oem clutch was not badly abused but it was Correctly well abused and was not even 50% worn out at 250k km... but considering I'm going to double the power on that ride? I think it's a verry smart option... there's just no way it could ever slip on the range of 300-400 hp... it is rated for 304lbs of torque and talking about the bumpyness when ride the clutch out of first gear when riding with no agressiveness is kind of tricky... I might be mistaking but You kinda have to rev a little bit for nothing like let's say a typical civic driving noob... just a lil reving and slippity riding before letting it fully engage and that way it's silky smooth although You feel like goofin arround... else it's to grippy to just ride it with no gas and it feels like hurting everything thin on the car... that's probably the cons of driving in town with it... Then, I don't know about straight clutch upgrading but in my case with the new flywheel, the disengagement was totally to the floor and still the car would try to get in motion at full clutch pedal... then I read about it and yeah after these kind of upgrade clutch adjust is needed! I was going to murder my tranny as I had verry hard time to get in any gear... I thought there was some kind of malfunction or air ine the hydraulic line but none of that... made the rod connected to the pedal a little longer out of the master cylinder and "Voilà"! Feels like brand new again except that it is verry verry grippy... now in the process I really was getting anxious and felt like We must had assembled/installed it incorrectly and was about to reopen the whole think to have a look at it... thang god I got into forums and read about it! But now in the meanwhile I disconnected both my front calipers for 24h had them all sanded brushed and cleaned up and painted them and now it has messed up my brake line pressure... pedal doesn't fall to the floor mat on her own but even with pumping it is never hard and goes to the floor easy and applies braking like 25% of a mechanical mini drum handbrake... so haven't really been able to fully experience it yet... can't wait

You're better off letting the car rollout, once it gets moving enough you won't chatter once you give it gas. Alternatively you can give it more gas and let off the clutch quickly like a mini launch, at the expense of your tires you will avoid the chatter. I have an fx350 and it does the same shit, it's not the clutch it's the DMF that makes these clutches a pain in the ass and also causes so much rev hang. I've also heard emans modified cmc from the type r helps a bit, currently have one ordered I'm waiting for

Ernesto I have a lwfw on my Abarth and a 250 and it still does it. What do you mean roll out? Just giving it more gas will almost alleviate the need to move the the clutch pedal quickly. It’s a good feeling clutch though, I’m impressed.

All my cars shudder from heavy duty stock style organic to cushioned ceramic. The only one I have not shudder is my daily when I replaced the clutch for a stock replacement 3 weeks ago when the old one's stock disk exploded. And it only didn't shudder because the clutch was faulty out of the box (no clamping force and binds up 2/3 way down, slips instantly in all gears). I put it down to the resonance of the driveline as a whole for why all my cars shudder . The best one is one I modded with solid engine mounts and solid suspension bushes. It's has tiny bit of shudder if I slip it too much reversing, no shudder else where otherwise. But anyway, I am considering a 6 puck sprung carbotic, for me pedal lightness is my highest priority and aggressive bite. Shudder are just a given for my cars. Having a aggressive friction material and a lighter pressure plate is a good way to achieve good bite and OEM pedal effort in medium powered cars. For me an aggressive bite is also an improvement in drivability as soft slippy OEM clutches annoy me a lot, especially during the gear shift. I really love that positive clunk. I have a hypothesis that a puck clutch might improve shift effort and feel at higher engine rpms when on a modified engine as the inertia of the disk is less than that of any other type of clutch, and therefore less work for the blocking rings to dissipate. For my car, the 6 puck is 400g lighter than the OEM, 500g lighter than cushioned ceramic. Since my project car's peak power happens at the max rpm my gearbox specified shift rpm, a lighter disk should help a fair bit in reducing the work the blocking rings are doing up at the limits.

it can be tolerated but it is not as easy as full face....the engagement is sudden or harsh with slip area that is narrower compared to full face... tricky in uphill stop and go situation...and whatever you do especially driving in the city, the wear is terrible in my case. in 2 years of using it, the clutch is already at 30%. if you usually go tracking and got moderate modification, the puck is worthwhile. otherwise think twice or get a ride that has it and decide.

801 Garage so a flywheel chatters when it’s tight and not loose ? You got a lot to learn dawg a flywheel can’t physically chatter unless loose it’s the clutch fork that rattled I’m amazed you’d think that’s a flywheel loose you would have major major problems if the flywheel was the slightest loose I’m surprised where u get info lol

MooseyQ look at my videos and you’ll see why Clutchmasters kits are shit on the 10gen. Cost me over $4k on transmission. Two Clutchmasters kits then the cost to have it all fixed by Eman and have the type r conversion done. Clutchmasters has been tagged on my stuff and don’t want to give a response on why their shit still rubbing on the housing. Emans already done 16 conversions. You think it’s a coincidence that everyone’s trans are getting fucked up by the Clutchmasters kits and emans having to fix them?

@@SuperAverage69 Sorry to hear about that. In my experience the Biggest back breaker on the 10gen civic si build experience is; the transmission. If the synchros take a dive, if you strip 3rd or 4th. It all comes back to massive amounts of money. I’m true to racing and my bad sense of spending money can prove it. I just spent over $6k on my transmission. 3rd gear stripped out. Ppg gears and a new final drive courtesy of the 3rd gear teeth cracking it. Labor and parts. On top of what I spent alread almost $4k the last time. Best of luck. If you have questions feel free to hit me up. 🤙

I used to really like 4 puck and 6 puck clutches I've used both sprung and unsprung. Engagement is good but the biggest problem with every car I've done this on mostly b series hondas these clutches have destroyed every transmission and I now only buy twin disc and or exedy clutch street disc and never a problem. 6 puck sucks 4 puck unsprung is better but better stuff exists to save the tranny puck clutches just suck big time. 3puck exedy is way better but again hard on the transmission. Guess do what u want its your car.
