Another thing to add from what we learned today about her being a standard character : while her cons aren't necessarily the best compared to limited 5 stars, they're more impactful than the other standard 5 stars, meaning losing your 50/50 to Dehya once will probably feel bad if you don't intend to play her, but losing it 7 times is better than getting dilucs COPIUM Also realized I forgor to mention 4p Crimson Witch, it's also a fine option, generally better than 2p2p if you're playing her in vape teams but worse than 4p emblem

It's a weird notion that Mihoyo would intentionally design a character to be bad because their goal was to put them on the standard banner. There's so many things that don't make sense, Why do this for a highly anticipated Sumeru character when you haven't done it for any other region? Why another Pyro claymore? Why waste such amazing character design like this? There's no way it's not intentional, you don't go from releasing absolutely broken characters like Nahida and Yelan to whatever Dehyas kit is supposed to be. This is honestly really depressing.

Since I started playing in 2020, I never hyped a character so much how I did with Dehya when I first saw her. Her look is amazing and her personality is pure gold, and I was saving every primogem since Nahida waiting for the moment she arrives. Now I'm completely crushed and dead inside.

The absolute worst part is that they announced that she would be on the standard banner in the livestream - implying they had premeditated this. Even if by a miracle all regions of the playerbase complain in unison, like with Zhongli and to a lesser extent Yae Miko, its not guaranteed she would be buffed to a normal 5 star because they would logically have to back out of her being in the standard banner, I think. Its just so mindblowing that DEHYA out of nowhere, for some unknown or arbitrary reason, gets this treatment. Wanderer was underwhelming but is viable, Alhaitham is pretty good, so why this treatment all of the sudden? Why break precedent and have 2 pyro claymores on the standard banner? And the worst part is that Dehya fans will now essentially HAVE to pull for her during her focus banner for constellations, because once she's on standard, it'll be extremely unreliable to get her. I want everyone who cares to blow up their forums, surveys, and all possible avenues of feedback, but I really don't know if it will matter. But I know they do notice because they even mentioned the anti-aliasing settings issue a while ago. Its just so weird and feels really mind-fucky that they just fucked over Dehya for seemingly no reason.

Albedo has more DPS and he's there for like 1 second. And he also provides damage mitigation through crystallized shields.

One of my many issues with her kit is that I have trouble understanding is why they called her skill's effect a "mitigation" when it's a damage TRANSFER. She only has the ability to mitigate damage that has been transferred to her, and even then, it requires her to retake the field and either recast her skill or activate burst. Also, as unlikely as it is, she can transfer 200% of her own max HP to herself, but only heals 50%? If she starts with lower HP (say 50%), she runs a serious risk of just killing herself with her own mechanic. "She's going on standard banner" doesn't come close to justifying how bad this kit is, even on an internal level.

Honestly I would've loved if Dehya is a burgeon focused character like how Nilou is for bloom. I don't care if a character is niche, as long as they're strong in that niche. It's certainly would've been better than whatever Dehya's kit right now.

Forget the pre-release of Dehya, I'm just looking at Zajef hit that corner, made me believe that we can save humanity using primogems.

up until the point they revealed her kit, i had a tiny hope that she would be decent later down the line. But then they said those cursed words, " from 3.5 dehya will be added to standard banner"and i felt that thing weighing on top of chest just become 10 times heavier

Unpopular opinion but I personally would not spend money on a obviously flawed character. I don't want to reward HYV's balance team's laziness for shafting a character so unbelievably hard. HYV only listens to wallets and not our complaints. Our last resort is to use money to signal to HYV that this is unacceptable.

One of the most sad and skippable characters releases I've seen yet, the fact that she's thrown into the Standard Banner immediately after is a slap in the face, man, they did her dirty, I don't think Tighnari was nearly that poorly treated even. This also demonstrates just how good Thoma is, he sharply rose to the spotlight since Dendro, Xinyan is able to compete against her, Diluc outdamages her despite his numbers being outdated, and if compared to Zhongli, Dehya is like him but with extra steps. If you think about it, Dehya is a jack of all trades, master of none kind of deal, a poor one at that. Edit: Tighnari's situation is indeed different than Dehya's and it's a lot more reasonable as an introductory Dendro character, he is also quite strong. Although it's true that Thoma is still underwhelming, his Burgeon build isn't a bad option compared to other Pyro units in terms of consistency. Which makes me think, we will soon have 2 five star pyro claymore units on the standard banner, quite odd considering that there is still no 5 star geo unit yet in there *looking at Albedo.

God I feel so bad for Dehya. Like already wasn’t gonna pull for her, but what they’ve done to her (making her standard character) just makes me want to pull for her even less.

You'd be surprised at how conflicting Dehya's kit and how cruel Dehya's treatment is. Some of what I say you may already know from what Zajef mentions in this or previous Dehya-centered videos. Dehya got Murphy's law exactment. First. poor popularity amongst CN is a bad start as CN has a lot of power over character sales, and thus, HYV's treatment of that character as a revenue source. Then, Dehya gets nerfed in beta. And when the buff mattered, it was actually insignificant, just so it would explain her ascension scaling, instead of shaping the kit around the ascension stat, or shaping the ascension stat around the kit to make sense. Next, Dehya was given the worse caveats for a pyro character and just for any burst or skill. For a vape, personal dmg scaling matters, and vape is a dps role's elemental reaction. Dehya's wasn't there so she wasn't really a vape character, also given that her burst has standard ICD. Dehya's burst as many already know, is an automatic long-yet-short burst animation, similar to Ayaka's. The issue is that current roster needs NA to trigger their ability, such as XIngqiu's =, Yelan's, Yunjin's, Thoma C6's, or any atk speed buffs. It also means she can't dodge in her burst in this fixed state of punching wildly and bludgeoning enemies away. Her burst Burgeon recommends fast pyro to keep up with dendro core production, but nope, Dehya gets 1+1.5s for skill procc rate. That's 1 second longer than needed. But wait, there's more! Dehya's skill isn't even consistent with burst. Doesn't funnel well into burst, especially since Dehya is played off field in skill, and on-field in burst, and burst also takes down her skill which gives her that damage interruption as well as additional particles from skill and more damage alongside her burst. Dehya's skill and burst can't coexist. Dehya can't cast skill while in her burst, and casting burst in her skill will just remove it. Simply put, only one or the other can exist at once. You use her burst, she gives up her skill and whatever perks it has. Cruel and clever way to create conflict between two portions of a kit, making it to where the effects of one and the other can't overlap. Another thing is that the damage mitigation mechanic is capped to half being shared, and that's at lvl 10. How many are gonna crown her skill for half? Team will still need another slot to be occupied by a healer/shielder. Dehya doesn't have any special perk that's exclusive to her like some Crowd control that only anemo would normally possess, nor is it some dmg bonus that is linked to her dmg taken. Thus, she is a flex slot. Hold your horses, there is more. Pretty obvious but Dehya has a pretty long downtime for her skill and her burst, as previously mentioned, picks it up, and repositions it. It doesn't even recast it like Kokomi, Xinyan also, or Fischl. Compared to Albedo, she lacks damage, where Albedo has the based Def scaling, lacks the energy generation Albedo's skill has, quick replacement albeit that Albedo has a breakable skill construct, but also a skill that interacts and coexists with their burst. Lastly, she was put into standard banner, which is quite a demonstration as a seal of fate that says, "not a cash crop; won't be buffed in any way." Dehya truly had thought put into, but for a bad cause. It's more difficult to make a kit that conflicts and contradicts than one that doesn't. Seriously, how does someone create a kit where skills and burst can't coexist? At least Cyno's can and he is also a PoC. Dehya was designed to be as terrible as they could make her to be. 50% damage splitting is not a traditional tanker's job. That's what an inefficent tanker would do in a traditional MMORPG or MOBA. Dehya's kit wasn't/isn't a mess. It's a victim of sabotage. Dehya was sabotaged. It's truly frustrating how a war hero of the archon quest is getting treated this badly intentionally. It isn't even an accident, considering just how carefully constricting the inner-working gears of her kit are in relation to each other. Sickening, yet impressive. It leaves me confused. I don't know whether I should applaud Hoyo for putting up that front or be appalled by the way they treat a character like a totalitarian threat.

We used to fear losing our 50/50s to Qiqi (only). Now we can fear losing it to Dehya too.
