As per your request :)
Can 1 Bull Warriors beat a variety of Roman infantry roster units including Legionary Cohort?
Combatants: 1 x Bull Warriors vs. 1 x of each of 10 different Roman infantry units
Terrain: Grasslands
Players: Both sides are controlled by human player
Tactics: Tactics ARE NOT Allowed, missiles can be fired

The more of these I see the more I am convinced that a lot of work went into most of the elite units to just barely lose to legions or just barely beat them, so that rome could spam out legions (since they are 1 turn) to win.

Yeah in rome 1 rome is a bit to strong. But in rome 2 its pathetic. the ai has pretty big problems to level italy

@@itsgamingtime9578 not if your playing the dei mod. Holy shit i played baktria and they rolled Pergamon by the time i took out the selucids.

Hell yeah, the auxilia managed to get one! And the Triarii are obviously three times better than the auxlia.

The Bull Warriord single-handedly push up the Spanish roaster. Out of all the Barbarian factions, the Spanish and the Germans may be the only ones who who have a decent enough elite units to put up a serious fight against Rome's legions.

@@emilsohn1671 From what I recall, neither Chosen Swordsmen nor Forresters are particularly useful against the post-Marian heavy infantry. We saw in this video Bull Warriors demolish both regular legionary cohorts, and even defeat the early legionary first cohort (which, btw, only thr Senate can recuruit without the Civil War, so seeing them on a regular campaign is highly unlikely). The Bull Warriors have also inflicted heavy casualties against the Praetorians and have performed decently against First Cohorts and Urbans. I doubt Chosen Swordsmen or Forresters would get anywhere near these results.

@@hammer3721 Seems you know how Chosen swordsmen will fare. I don't really understand what Urban Cohorts do in the game. They are not historical and they are nearly game-breakingly good. They really do make the rest seem like 2nd class. Their only real match might be the chosen axeman and the cathaprachts?

Bull Warriors have average defense stats but 2 hitpoints, 13 melee and a whopping 17 missile attack with their javelin. 1 point less than Urban Cohorts. As shown in the video Bull Warriors will win missile trades because of their additional health. Furthermore, the Javelin's that are thrown are AP. If the Bull Warriors were allowed to use both javelin throws before melee then they would have won against the Romans. Because of this Bull Warriors are misleading adept at taking out heavy armor and can skirmish well.

@@infantilepillock1687 longshield cav has no competitors for the price aswell i dont mind having a few round shields for skirmishers and skirm cav it will beat modt jav cav aside from the numidians.

For me, all the barbarian factions are unplayable in campaigns since they can't build large or huge cities.

Thanks for the comment. Imo it depends whether it is pre-Marian or post-Marian. Agreed in the first case, in the latter case, I tend to disagree :)

One thing to note is that armor upgrades and chevrons are even better on the bull warriors thanks to their additional hitpoints, so a few veteran/upgraded bull warriors could theoretically come to beat equivalent praetorians/urbans. Extra hitpoints are very overpowered in RTW and they can easily change interactions between unit classes.

Despite lots of people saying spain is one of the hardest campaigns, some good managements and a decent eye for battle can lead to a very fun campaign, their roster is interesting

Why are Bull warriors so resistant to pila ? Less armour and shield than legionaries edit: Maybe their kinda loose formation helps

2 hitpoints. It's unlikely with the spread of the pila that 2 hit the same warrior in a single volley

I’d like to see some of these tests where both sides use both pila before charging and see if it makes a difference, especially for Spain.

Kind of hard to watch how easily bull warriors took auxilia down. Because I just played a campaign battle as the Selucid where auxilia traded man for man against my silver shield legionaries on a wall battle. Campaign was VH/VH

VH gives the AI insane buffs that just make the game unplayable or unnecessarily frustrating to the point it renders certain units types for the player, like Light Cav and Spearmen, utterly useless past the early game.

Pikemen secondary attack is weaker than their pike attack. Theyre worse than regular spear unit on walls because the regular spear unit still use their spears.

@@Stegopunkaceratops I mentioned legionaries. The elite selucid infantry that can't use phalanx. Auxilia traded man for man against them on VH.
