New knock sensors and wiring but I still has CEL P0327 P0332. Seems like the wire sucks! 2003 Chevy Tahoe 4.8L

Heads up to everyone watching this video. You MUST torque the knock sensors down to exactly 15ftlbs for this engine. If it's not torque down properly the sensor will not work correctly, either read high or low on the circuit and will not function correctly. this applies to all vehicles with knock sensors please consult your manufacturer service manual for the torque settings.

I dont know if this is where I originally saw this idea but THANKS! I just bought the replacement kit on Amazon for $22 with the wire harness and 2 new sensors, screwed them BOTH in to the Passenger side Cyl head, cleared the codes and it seems to be working perfectly... Havent gone all that far but I'm 99% sure its fixed.. Thanks again KZfaq University for fixing a problem the easy way.. Eventually I will replace them under the manifold and do it right, but for now it saved a weekend of work!!

Love it. Did this today and so far so good. Genius relocation method. The new ones basically screwed right in just like you did. Awesome and thank you for that. Edit: Same error code as before. I made a jumper for the plug prongs now. Let’s see what happens.

Still connected and no problem at all! I previously replaced the knock sensors and wires but it happens that the CEL come on. So I did bypass it using the old set. CEL gone off!

@@NigelTheWhiteChicken I see, ok thank you for sharing I've been watching videos for days. Just bought a used truck and they had replaced both of the knock sensors and they were both reading bad still. I'll go with this solution when I have some time. Thanks for responding so quickly.

Your new knock sensors under the manifold are probably not getting a good ground to the engine block because of rust on the threads. Poor design by GM.

Well, Sam, since you know everything, what should GM have done? For the good of the driving public, please stop giving advice...

@@jeremyelford7926 probably something similar what they recommend in the TSB they created for this issue, which is creating a dam of silicone to prevent water from entering. moron

@@jeremyelford7926 Then why in the 2007 model ls engines did GM put the dam knock sensors on the block? It was a stupid move or a push for there service departments to put them under the intake to begin with. Just my opinion. Mine are now on the heads and have been working fine for over 2 years .
@jeremyelford79262 жыл бұрын
@@howardrenner5314 that's fine...my 2001 has them under the intake as well and I changed them myself, not a difficult job. If you consider the SES light not coming on to mean the system is "working just fine" then so be it. But it's not "working just fine" because it's not in the location GM designed them to be in; your knock sensors are not listening for problems where the engineers designed them to. I also changed the knock sensors on my buddy's 2005 5.3...takes about two hours. Not a big deal...

These censors go out if you go through the car wash it's literally a microphone tuned for the frequency of a knock. It's screwed into the cylinder head he's just putting it in an easier location if it knocks again it'll still pick it up on the outside of the head
@J.Crooner4 жыл бұрын
I have a 2005 Hummer H2 went to carwash yesterday & now I got the knock sensor issue coming up on the computer P0332. Taking off the entire intake manifold looks like a hassle & 1200 bucks for labor seems hardly worth the fix.
