I've learned a lot on DIY and am applying this to my personal projects on non-classic rides(so far). I used to refinish/restore furniture years back. Now the fix-it-up, restore it bug has bit me again. Even if its just daily drivers, there is still the pride of doing it yourself. I expect to muck up, and sometimes i have to redo my work and atart over...but its a lesson learned and keep going. Keep doing what u do and i'll keep watching and taking notes and applying it to my projects.

Pete, your tech tips are teaching us to use all of our senses, including our eyes to watch the light reflect off primer. Also, minor imperfections can be repaired by scratching the surface with 80 grit, using the Bondo & honey mix, without grinding it down with 36 grit for a tooth required for straight filler. That saves us, the DIY guy, time, money and doing it right. Thanks Pete. You are the best! Experience guided by knowledge and polished by passion!! :-) GB

Do a search for a shrinking disc -- sometimes it can be very useful. Once you get the hang of it - many uses. 'Oil canning' can disappear easily in some circumstances using a shrinking disc - not a 'cure-all' - but a handy addition to the pile of tools on the bench Have a nice day all. CHEERS from AUSTRALIA.
