I’m not a huge fan of writing but this video was excellent! You are such a down to earth person who seems wonderful to talk to. I hope you continue to make videos bc I just find them so helpful and relaxing to watch!!

Hi Emmy! Your videos are so helpful, and I love watching them. I want to start writing poetry because I usually write fiction and I think that another great way for me to express myself would be through poetry. Unfortunately, I never got to learn much about the basics of poetry. Do you have any recommendations to help me start understanding poetry in the first place, like websites, books, etc? I am quite clueless, but I truly want to start pursuing writing poetry, so any additional advice would help. Thanks so much and congrats on Princeton!

How would you list publications under extracurriculars??

i simply said "published in 24 online/print magazines" and did not list them all out!

Hello! I have written articles about issues important to me that were evaluated and reviewed by NYT and WSJ, but not considered for publication. Can I still submit a writing portfolio showcasing what I wrote? I am very proud of what I was able to write and I was wondering if I can still submit my literary works. Thanks.

How did you get your work evaluated and reviewed by NYT and WSJ? Did you just reach out to them?

@@ani1egna Yes, I reached out to them multiple times. WSJ even told me to instead send my writing to a portal for university students instead of the op-ed section. (I don’t think they realized I was still in high school.)
