This show is still my top 5 favorite television shows ever

Yes the world sucks but sometimes you need to play the hand you are felt with. What happened was wrong but Jodie had the right to mention her dad as a tool not the banker

Its so weird that Daria was a bit part in Beavis and Butthead, which i loved as a kid, but i remember her show far better. Mike Judge understands people, even if he does appear to be a very grumpy old man.

The other thing this episode shows, to a lesser degree, is how poverty perseveres (especially concerning POC). If Jodie’s dad wasn’t rich and famous, Jodie wouldn’t have been able to get a loan regardless of her well done business plan or personal determination. Daria, without knowing anything about her, was offered a loan with her dad’s help. A lot of people who say “oh I’m (a young age) and I got a house and make (stupid high money). If I can do it, anyone can!” Got help similar to what happened in the video, if not more blatantly.

Daria was great. Tho there were times where they tackeled things and got it wrong. For example companies that sell clothing, Daria claimed in an episode that they basically tell people what to wear and unfortunately for companies this couldn't be further from the truth. Companies market to people sure, however if it were as easy as telling people what to wear then clothing tests wouldn't be a thing, companie sell clothes and if clothes don't sell then they cancel them or discount them or any other variations to get rid of said product and avoid ever attempting re-selling the failed product. Then we've got feminism, oh feminism, Daria usually uses the whole "I'm gonna be held back by male dominance in the working world" and truth be told that's not the case, she's only going to be held back by her performance as we've seen in statistics where men are more aggressive, assertive, demanding and don't take as many days off as women. Daria being a woman will hold her back but not because men hold her back. This is why equity exists, yep I kid u not equity exists, for example in most stores and restaurants you'll see women up front and men in the back so that they have a job in the same operations with the same pay. Next we got Darias expectations, luckily the mother calls her out on this, Daria is difficult believing she is not. That's about all I've got, loved the show, Brittany was my favorite because she was actually generally nice to Daria and yet she still got the sarcastic and down talking attitude that Daria dished out to people she didn't like, so while she is a steriotype ironically she was not a mean girl idk if the writers did this on purpose as a way to show her a good spirit and to show even a steriotype like her can still be some of the steriotypes upon someone like herself.
