i think the whole transition of the clans turning colder to one another simply comes from the fact that, in dawn of the clans, like half the cats grew up together/were actual family. I think it's reasonable that over time, cats would become more tight knit with their own clan, and see other clans more as rivals. I mean even in the Shadowstar novella we see Quick Water try to kill Shadowstar, simply because she had her own group of cats she feared and cared for, and over time the familial bonds will just be forgotten.

Dotc honestly doesn’t get enough love as it should, it’s my second favorite series

Conclusion: the Clans are all massive tsunderes

A couple things: 1. The clans are less like cities/houses and are more like small countries. When you think of it like that things make more sense. 2. Over time people forget their own histories. Yes, the clans may have started off friendly when everything was new. But as the clans settled and grew the newer generations will forget why the clans began, what it was like to be on your own, why everyone is so friendly, etc. It’s just how the world works. 3. I do get the feeling we were supposed to see each of the clans as their own culture. One clan might use a different phrase, each clan has a unique food type, different attributes and values, etc. Though, the writing is very lacking especially in the newer arcs. 4. The clans have actually tried to shove another out for resources. In some of the first books WindClan was exiled from their territory. Both ShadowClan and RiverClan argued against bringing them back and hunted on the territory before ThunderClan decided to bring WindClan back (and Bluestar’s argument was mainly a religion-based reason. She argued that since there have always been four clans, it should stay that way.) 5.) I get the feeling that the modern clans are bigger than they originally were. I haven’t read DotC, I looked at the allegiances lists of some of the DotC books and saw that they were tiny compared to even ThunderClan’s in Into the Wild. Of course it’s easier to be lackadaisical about resources when you’ve only got a handful of cats to take care of. The bigger the clan, the more resources they need. Plus, these cats need to keep their prey populations even or else they’ll starve. If they have a whole other clan’s worth of cats hunting on their land then there’s a risk that there won’t be as much food next year.

it’d be very interesting if skyclan didn’t believe in starclan, but rather ghosts? like they don’t believe in starclan as they feel betrayed by them for what happened in the past, but instead believe in the same sort of religion as the sisters and follow their traditions instead. or what if shadowclan all together doesn’t have a religion, maybe in an au where they never regained their faith after the whole sol situation. perhaps the other clans have a different religion all together ! i think the whole separate religion thing would be very interesting!!!

I would’ve liked your religion idea more in warriors. Because imagine this was the case and Cloudtail was the protagonist instead of Fireheart, it also would’ve given Cloudtail more of a reason to go to Twoleg place because he is scared of what will happen if others find out he doesn’t believe. And when Bluestar lost her belief ThunderClan could’ve completely fell apart, or Mothwing maybe was to scared to even communicate with her clan afraid they would find out or Hawkfrost would tell them whether he knew or not. Maybe that could’ve given Sleekwhisker all the more reason to try and de-rail ShadowClan. Maybe Rowanstar didn’t like violence as much as a ShadowClan cat should so he was technically going against ShadowClan’s religion. Maybe that made Lilyheart, Twigkit and Alderheart terrified of what Violetkit would become after the trade. Maybe Sparkpelt went a bit against ThunderClan’s accepting religion and wasn’t fond of Graystripe, Purdy, Cloudtail, Daisy, and Stormcloud as well as Twigbranch, and hated how she looked so much like Firestar, so everytime she looked in a puddle she hated her reflection. Maybe WindClan was incredibly hostile towards kittypets because they were more hostile towards them because of Oakstar, and so Tallstar was to but after he met Jake he encouraged friendship with kittypets, and it was due to this that Onewhisker met Smoke. Maybe Breezepelt could’ve been confused and scared of Holly Jay and Lion because he didn’t know what religion they followed and therefore didn’t know what they were capable of. Anyway, that’s just a few ideas. Also Hawk Swoop is best mom

Greywing is such an amazing protagonist. I adored the part where Windrunner told Greywing that cats will remember him not for his strength or noteworthy as a leader, but rather because he was loved and deserved to be loved.

(7:30) I understand where your coming from, but I think the clans are like siblings. For example my sisters and I annoy each other to death and fight A LOT, but we still love and care for each other and would beat someone up for each other

Summarization of Firestar: The cat that the first five series talk about.

I absolutely agree that the clans need different cultures/religion/SOMETHING. Otherwise it makes zero sense for them to be separate entities. Not to mention conflicts would actually make sense and the authors wouldn't have to keep reaching for super petty reasons for them to fight or have characters act completely out of character just to drag the plot along 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm reading through Dawn of the Clans currently (even though I've spoiled myself lol), and I love it for how unique it is and the colorful cast of characters.

One very sad fact about the Great Battle was that when Gray Wing and Clear Sky were fighting, Thunder notices that they were expecting each other's moves and then reacting, only to be countered as if it had been rehearsed... as if they had fought as kits. And it's sad to think that two brothers that were inseparable and play fought sometimes were now out to harm each other over territory a little over a year later. P.S. I hate the fact that the Great Battle was from Thunder's perspective and not Gray Wing's. I wanted to know what was going on in his mind, especially when he was fighting Clear Sky, now knowing that he couldn't redeem him.

Agreed dawn of the clans was definitely the best arc at least a n my opinion. I would say that power of three was just as messy and bad as omen of the stars but then again I enjoyed the fourth arc for what it was. Also I would say that mothflights rule had a semi logical explanation at least for me, and that's she did it partly out of spite and also out of jealousy. Especially towards acornfur who shortly before mentioned liking the cat that arguably caused michah's death. As for why they don't move... Out of pride I would say. If I'm a shadowclan cat you can bet your buttons that I'm not going to let a stupid smelly riverclan cat drive me out. I don't want one clan what I want is multiple distinct cultures or else when someone like say broken star could utterly destroy the forest. Its more of a rivalry rather than hatred. I mean different army branches mess with each other. Squid for navy, Jarhead fo Marines ect. The branchs don't hate each other they just have pride within their clans. And the clans really weren't that friendly before firestar. The clans also had much smaller territories and although it isn't outright said in the books at least I think it was pretty heavily implied. Idk, I enjoy the conflict and um more cats need to die so gladly go off to war kitties. But hey maybe that's just me.

So I haven’t read the most recent books, but we’re actually in a super interesting time in Warriors where the clans are transitioning from their initial (as shown in into the wild) hating each other, being cool if one clan were chased out -only Bluestar said WindClan should be brought back, and she sent her own cats to bring them back!- to where Firstar’s leadership brought ThunderClan and the clans as a whole; introducing a new addition to the warrior code, saying that if a need arises, the clans must help each other In the first arc, there were a lot of instances that suggested the clans simply hate each other, and would be fine and chill if another clan had a disaster. Even with Bluestar speaking up about WindClan, Fireheart and Graystripe got in trouble for helping and feeding Riverclan when their territory and camp was flooded. Cinderpaw(pelt?) helped ShadowClan cats stay hidden in ThinderClan territory and helped them through a life threatening disease - which at the time, was thought to be incurable- and thought Littlecloud the cure so he could help his clanmates. Now that I think about it, Fireheart(paw) almost kills Clawface in his first battle, as revenge for killing Spittedleaf, but is told by Whitestorm that a true warrior does not need to kill to win. And most the rest of the arc is Firestar and co defying orders to help other clans. This in turn has other clans making grumbles about “meddling Thunderclan” who thinks it can do whatever it wants; especially when Fireheart becomes deputy and eventually leader! But arc two really pushes the “in times of crisis, clans need each other” idea, with the forest destruction and great journey. It is my favorite arc because of the journey cats and how, on the clan-wide journey, it talks about and shows initial clan boundaries trying to survive, and fading as every cat helps each other. I’ve heard that the original plan for the series, by Vicky, was to end it completely at arc 2 book3 Dawn! (when the clans arrive at the lake) Apparently more books were ordered written by hp and it ruined the lovely ending Vicky had planned. Another interesting thing I remember (I can feel myself starting to ramble, I’m sorry aha) is that in book 1 Firepaw actually asks why there are boundaries and clans don’t help each other - he’s told “that is treacherous thinking, kittypet” by tigerheart and something about clan loyalty making a warrior strong by Lionheart or Whitestorm? So uh yea that’s my thoughts! The series as a whole basically has rusty join and go “he you guys should care about and help each other” and every other cat responding “eww no” Some super editions have had cats respond to the senseless violence; mudpelt I think it was retired from being a warrior and became a medicine cat, and pinestar left so completely the clans added a rule to the warrior code that the hate kittypets

I liked your idea about different clans having different traditions/ideas, when I first started reading warriors I thought that all shadowclan cats has names like broken- or ragged- and honestly something like that would have been interesting, and a good way to differentiate them from the other clans.

I think dawn of the clans is so good is because it introduces brand new characters we've never seen. The erins were able to shape the characters as they wanted because they didn't have personality yet.

I literally loved Gray Wing so much, and I still do. When he showed up as a Starclan cat in Mothflight’s vision I was so happy. He was a great protagonist. I’ve seen people argue that he was just another cliche main character like Firestar, but to me he was so interesting!

What u said abt the borders and stuff sorta reminds me of real life. We’re all human and we’re all the same, yet wars still happen. Just between ppl who live in different places. I just don’t understand. Most wars don’t even have a good reason for being there, they just happen. It’s the same in warrior cats

The only times warriors made me cry: The first battle, Gray Wing's death, and Firestar's death. Gray Wing was one one the best characters.

Gray Wing is my favorite character and Dotc is my favorite arc and I’m so glad you’re pointing out how refreshing it is

what i don't understand is how the naming system came around. how and when did the cats decide "hey, instead of naming our kits X Y, let's name them Xkit and when they're training, Xpaw, and THEN they can finally have a new name as XY." it didn't happen in thunder's novel, moth flight's super edition, or shadowstar's novel, so how did it come to be?

(Warning: This comment is pretty long and probably doesn’t make much sense sense Im terrible at explaining things so good luck.) I definitely agree with this video! But I think there’s a simple (HA sure simple) way of making each clan different while still having the same structure, and that’s with different types of community’s. What I mean by “Community’s ” is that each and every clan are sort of divided into little community’s like a Fighting community ( A community of cats in a clan more focused on the aspects of battle and guarding in a clan) , a Hunting Community ( More focused on hunting the best prey and keeping them and their clan well fed) , a Caretaker community ( cats like Daisy who are full time Queens and spend most of their time helping out around the clan like taking care of the elders and helping out the Medicine cats and watching the kits) ,The building Community ( Cats who while most of the time still do the plain warrior duty’s their calling is to help build dens and construction and they love to help out with any heavy lifting and even battle plans if it has to do with anything like creative traps!), the gardening Community ( I Know this is a random one so stay with me, but I really enjoy the idea of there being cats who gather flowers and maybe even herbs and raise them, also usually most medicine cats are apart of the Gardening community) , the decor community ( Theses cats love interior design and love to Make each and every den look super nice with flowers and natural paints or something), and the entertainment community ( This is also seems weird and random but this will become important later but this community usually is all about events and celebrations they like to throw on shows and host social events with family and friends or helping others host their own) And these are just a few examples and ideas! You could think of so many more different types of community’s in all of the clans! But how could these types of community’s have an effect on the story? Well I imagine that each clan has a sort of main community that most of the clan is composed of, like an example that Skyclan is more of a building community while Windclan is more of a Religious Community ( A community that is extremely strict about the code and have monthly maybe even weekly rituals and celebrations too keep their faith or somethings like that I’m not that much of a religious person) . Community’s dictate how the clans work and a how a clan being comprised of mainly one community is important with how the clans intermingle, a situation being Riverclans camp is destroyed during a huge flood so they have go to Skyclan who are considered the main Building Community ( I made them the main building community because I love the idea that they build their dens within the trees) and hire them to rebuild their camp in exchange for fish from their river. Another situation with community’s is to have a sorta Tallstar’s Revenge type of situation where Thunderclans Leader and Deputy are both apart of mainly the fighting community so the Fighting community is treated more kindly then the other community’s in Thunderclan which can create some political problems in that clan. Also I think in this hypothetical universe the clans changed the code to get rid of the whole you can’t mate with cats if their from another clan or if your a medicine cat you can’t have a mate or kits, but that code still existed which leaves a stigma on it that even though it’s fine to do, most cats who choose to take a mate from another clan are still stigmatized and are discriminated, which means even more drama! Now I know this is getting long so I’ll try( and fail) to make this part short, so relating to the part about different types of cultures for each clan. So I think that the main community really shapes how a clan works and the culture surrounding it, for example an idea I had was about Windclan and how I would consider it the most religious community out of all of the clans! So like with Windclan when making an important decision the medicine cat actually gets the last say instead of the leader, due to the fact that medicine cats are closer towards starclan. Also when choosing an apprentice they look for the spiritual sides and connection with starclan and don’t really focus much about the healing part when in search for a new medicine cat, which could create some really interesting drama with it if you have a new med cat apprentice who was forced into having the job because they had an extremely strong connection with their ancestors, even though they had no interest or any talent in healing. Another idea I had is that due to Windclan being very traditional are conservative, and unlike the other clans are super not into change so you can still have the whole secret cross clan relationship thing but there’s more pressure sense in this universe Windclan doesn’t take mistakes lightly like the other clan which creates tons of pressure for the character! Now for the final thing about cultures is celebration and tradition, it’s sad because the books were so close to having an interesting tradition with the day gathering thing in POT but it sadly went nowhere. So instead I would have tons of different types of celebrations that are either all clan celebrations or clan specific traditions! Like maybe in shadowclan they celebrate something called the Bare leaf blaze where on that day they celebrate a past victory( either some kind of war or struggle, something that relates to the name) , but you get the idea and having these things could really make the clans feel alive and more interesting and different from each other. And that’s it! Sorry for how long this is and I would continue on with this sense I have SO many ideas but I think it would continue to go on forever! So yeah, thanks to any of the people who read this drawn out explanation of my ideas that probably doesn’t even make sense! So I hope you have a good day and if you like my ideas, thanks!

I actually love DOTC! It has so many great plots, and it's very exciting. There's never a dull moment, and the scenes shown in the book make you go either: Aww, noooo, I-, so cuteee, and I HATE YOU. The characters are all so loveable, but there are times I wish the character didn't exist... (*nudge nudge* Clear Sky)

Dawn of the Clans changed how I saw things too. Like, you read it and it's pretty much a paradise compared to when you get back to the current clans. Makes you realize how much the current clans suck. And there are some things in the code that are great but others that aren't and they have some silly rules and just... there are a lot of things that could change. It's sad to see the clans turn out like this after all that they went through in DotC. (Also, amazing picture of the best boy. [SPOILERS] Honestly, his death was the only time I have ever cried. Like, I was getting emotional all throughout the series, but that's the one time I have actually cried for Warriors. And his description of running on the moors, where he felt like he was flying? I felt that vividly and wanted that so badly that I fell in love with WindClan right then and there. He was the best, definitely my fav cat.)

Y’know, I never even questioned this even after reading Dawn of The Clans, but dang. That definitely is pretty strange. (Also can I just say how amazing and detailed that art of Graywing is like oh my gosh,,)

Just saying, some of these plot points happen in Vision of Shadows. Not all, but quite a few.

Dawn Of The Clan's was the most DEPRESSING arc ever giving me the most anxiety in the world. I mean- there was at least 1 death in every book. We had about 25 chapters in each book, with a lot going on. Sometimes It got very got overwhelming and I'd have to take a break. I do recall crying once, when Grey Wing died. There was all this conflict between Clear Sky and the other cats, but it doesn't very much make sense? I'll try to explain In a non-confusing way. Clear Sky is all in honest ambitious, but he's not ambitious enough to kill cats. What even what was the even point about borders? Their all one group from the tribe. Yes, they wanted to live in different places, and I understand that, but WHY would they want to be in different places? They had the same home and all of them had similar to different opinions. Either they loved it or hated it. Most of them loved it. Wouldn't they ALL want to go to the same sheltered, yet most similar place they could find? It doesn't make sense to me. My second case is about why they all either had emotions, or no emotions. The entirety of Clear Sky I saw raw sour emotions. (Emotions) Gorse Fur made me angry but she was almost dull. No action. (No emotion) Thunder made me want to rage sometimes and sometimes made me want to hug him. (Emotion) Turtle Tail had almost zero point but to be Grey Wing's future mate... she didn't have a ton of feelings however. (No emotion) More I would explain but you get the point. NO SENSE TO ME AT ALL! The no emotions are dull, and the emotions make you happy. THE DEATHS. They approach you and attack you like a fox! Swift, elegant, quick, and scars you for FOREVER. I don't remember EVERY death but here are what I can recall or remember? Grey Wing (EXTREMELY SAD) Mother and a kit Bright Stream Moon Shadow Rainswept Flower (EXTREMELY SAD) Turtle Tail (EXTREMELY SAD) I'm sorry but I need a break my heart is shattering right now. OH CRAP PASS THE WATER PLEASE I NEED TO CRY INTO A TISSUE AND I'M THIRSTY I guess I'll continue sniffling. Thats fine. Thats pretty much all I have in conclusion though. My plan Is to laugh and cry and pretend that Grey Wing is with Slate, their kits growing healthy- because his death was too much for Slate and the kits- and more especially ME. AAAAAH THE SUSPENSON OF CRYING IS KILLING MEEE LET ME DO IT STUPID BODY

i haven't read dawn of the clans so i can't comment on how clan relations are different in comparison but i never really got the impression cats fight eachother for no reason. i think a lot of the reasons they have for fighting can be manufactured or really part of a deeper issue going on elsewhere but nothing that feels like they're just throwing in a fight scene for the heck of it

Yeah same! I cried when SOMEONE died at the end of Dawn of the Clans. (Not spoiling for other people lol) Other problems didn't affect me as much either

Everytime you do a speed-paint, you inspire me to go on my tablet and just DRAW. I learn in every speed-paint how to correctly shade, light, and how to use different tools! Tho I don't draw Warriors, I can still bring the shading, lighting, etc into the animal I'm drawing! (I draw horses)

I think the way the clans will go back to what it was during DoTC is if the medicine cats all get visited by either the founders or the og med-cats saying that the clans needed to go back to normal, that this wasn't, *ISN'T* the way of the clans. And then for the rest of the arc or book would be the clans having to learn to get along with each other, despite what they have done throughout all these moons.

The must fight to maintain group nationality and pride. It's different when you're a descendant of an ancient clan line than being apart of the community that agreed to found it on good princples.

I was so sad when Gray Wing died like I almost cried it hurt to see this hopeful cat die in such a sad way with his family all around and when he saw Bright Stream and the kids like yes it was so cute but sad and depressing like ouch my baby was gone so sad :(

Spoilers for Dawn of the Clans: Falling Feather and Jackdaw's Cry killing each other in the First Battle is one of the most heartbreaking scenes in Warrior Cats if you ask me.

Clan borders come from clear sky. Peace, looking after queens and kits, warriors not having to kill in order to win comes from gray wing. Gray wing is best cat

this all falls under starclan, the clans live by a code to uphold and its all about star clan. without star clan the clans are weak and need to be lead by something and it shows how weak the clan cats actually are. their fate is decided by cats that arnt even alive and they are basically robots being controlled and when they break the rules they get punished. and they are so strict about their rules and then someone breaks them and its like they get a little hate and thats it...

7:14 for the clans it do be sorta like a sibling relationship, like they'll kill/fight each other for almost the smallest thing, but, they'll help when it's really needed.

Dawn of the clans was the only, ONLY series that made me cry

They also had the perfect set up to make this clan more distinct from each other though. Then never capitalized it. Tall Shadow as Shadow Clan's leader? Um... OK, I guess... because she has Shadow in her name? Can't think of why else she'd fit the role. Suppose, instead of her, they had either Clear Sky himself, or better yet, one of his followers, become Shadow Clan's leader? One who preferred his harsher days. There already were several characters who could easily fit this role. How about Petal? Her brother literally died defending Clear Sky's strict boarders. And afterward Clear Sky turned around and said boarders no longer mattered! This change might leave Petal feeling downright betrayed! I could picture her thinking, "So my brother died for nothing?! No! We were right to defend our boarders! And shouldn't stop doing so!" She could wrestle between these feelings and her loyalty to Clear Sky for some time as Clear Sky steadily changes more and more. Eventually she'd break off from Clear Sky's group, just like Thunder did (but for utterly opposite reasons), with any cat who would follow her. Some who leave with her perhaps wanting to re-implement Clear Sky's other forgone rules, such as weeding out of the weak. Petal even has established reason to hate Gray Wing, of all cats! Gray Wing, whose kindness and reasoning continually brought everyone else together. What a perfect first rift for Shadow Clan from both Wind Clan and Thunder Clan, who adored and continually supported Grey Wing! Clear Sky's reconciliation with Gray Wing would make a great final straw, causing her to make the split from his group. If Shadow Clan territory was kept uninhabited by this point in the story, it would make sense for them move there, to gain the most distance possible from the other clans. This version of the story would establish Shadow Clan's future reputation for being fierce and even harsh, while never painting the Shadow Clan leader herself as a villain. Petal was already such a multifaceted character, she'd be perfect. She had integrity enough to care for the kits of her enemy, even seeing them as her own. But, embittered by experience, had no qualms about killing said kits' mother. I could picture her honestly believing she is doing what is right for her cats, and having her own sense of morality that often placed her in conflict with that of the other clans. Thoughts?

I also don’t understand when the clans started not letting outsiders in? The various groups were very ready to let almost any cat (baring kitty pets) join throughout the whole arc and over half the clans by the end are made up of former loners and rogues. It is kinda weird that they suddenly hate and distrust all outsiders and I want to know when that shift happened.

Sadly I didn´t read dawn of the clans yet. didn´t had the motivation and time to read it so I still stuck on the first book of the season but I agree with that what you said (idk the story from DOTC but ik a little bit how it was in that part of the Warriors Timeline) and yes the clans defeniltally need better reasons to hate each other or just stop to hate everyone lol- The Art looks amazing btw =^w^=

i can't help but feel like they were only being chill for grey wing, since there was at least one cat in each clan that was family to him. main reasoning behind this being the next book after dotc (moth flight's super edition) they're right back to hating each other

Dawn of the Clans is like the BEST arc (my opinion). The first Warrior book that made a lot people cry in the end. And it really shows the depth of the clans’ histories, and just throws you a bag of emotional rolercoasters.

I have my own warrior cats series and the reasoning why clans have clan borders is because they have different opinions on the Warrior Code and if it should be revised. Also they have differing ideals in morality in my series some clan have alliances but most of the time if a cat from another clan is endanger they are the other they are not you because you are better than them so let them die. Some clans are also against violence when others are not afraid to die. They stay because they are too afraid to leave and other threats they don’t know will come. Also clans hate each other because they often kill outsiders. ShadowClan and RiverClan have a tense relationship ship because RiverClan is very strict at border patrol. So a lost ShadowClan apprentice accidentally wandered into RiverClan territory and was killed in cold blood. Cats from different clans are also slightly different genetically like RiverClan has webbed feet and ShadowClan has regenerating teeth so they want their genes that are good for their environment to get more extreme.

I view the clans like people and kingdoms, you have a mutual bond/trust with the other kingdoms and you wouldn’t let them fall Incase of something worse turning out like a new kingdom that no one likes. People did it too so I don’t see the whole issue but I agree DOTC makes me feel so surreal and yes the only time I cried during the books really!

Wait...what if there was a rouge after the broken code that had dotc rouge ancestors,and tales of how the clans then separated and how they once wore was passed down,and that rouge decided to unite the clans,as they once wore?Like,there would still be borders but they wouldn’t matter as much.They would only be there for knowing where a certain clans territory was?And,there would be mediators just in case something did happen?I feel like that could be such an interesting arc!But,I dunno.

Plot twist: Windclan didn't get driven out by Brokenstar, they were just fed up the neighbouring clans.

This is similar to what you said already but I think it'll be good to have a sub category for the code like.. The Warrior Code: [whatever] -The Thunder(clan) Code: [whatever] So another clan is like "ew ugly you don't mind kittypets??? 🙄 gross" and they fight for territory cause one clan believes they're more deserving because of their code Otherwise, it would make more sense for constant battles if the clans believed theres only supposed to be one singular clan and so they fight for each other's territories.

@6:50, Purebred/inbred cats tend to have health issues and behavioral issues because of it. Purebred/inbred cats tend to be more aggressive or withdrawn, which may explain why the clans weren't as peaceful to each other as they used to be. In terms of health issues, purebred/inbred cats are more susceptible to neurological disorders that may cause seizures. Epilepsy could explain why Petalfall and Shadowsight have seizures. Kidney disease is another health issue that could occur and Heavystep had to retire early from having it. Really the only thing the series is missing is cats being BORN with physical issues from inbreeding. I know a lot of warrior cats have physical abnormalities but they're all from injuries they've gotten.

So we know that the first cats of the clans came from the mountains to the forest territories, so can someone explain to me who Jayfeather's stick people were? I'm pretty sure they came from the mountains too? Maybe it got overpopulated again and cats set out again but towards the lake and not the forest?? Help.

They don’t need to care for each other they are suppose to be loyal/care for their clan. Each clan doesn’t like one another but they know they need each other to survive and eventually pass into star clan. And there are many clear mixed clan friendships in the books. It’s very complicated but they clans are still surviving aren’t they?
