Yale Student Jay Mehta investigates Congress’ role in funding the war in Afghanistan and why the war dragged on for so long. Jay Mehta is a senior in Yale College majoring in Global Affairs. Jay used to compete in National History Day, pursuing year-long research projects and turning them into performances and in 2015, he placed first in the nation. Since then, he has told previously untold stories to audiences at the Normandy American Cemetery and the National World War II Museum. He has also written a one-act musical about Juan Pujol García, a real-life double agent from World War II. At Yale, besides conducting research, he sings in an a cappella group and acts in plays and musicals. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
