The mystery of the Dwemer disappearance was solved in Morrowind as far as I'm concerned. There's a Telvanni wizard in Gnisis who will give his take on the matter if you bring him Dwemer books/artifacts, and a surprising amount of people have no idea about this. TL;DR they achieved an equivalent of what Buddhists would call "extinction" by transcending both the sacred and mundane by "uncreating" themselves. As he explains it, the Dwemer studied how the sacred descended down into the profane, or how the profane issued from the sacred. They were also interested in how the mundane could will itself into the sacred, hence they reverse engineered creation itself and achieved "extinction" or uncreation. They became pure potential, "retreating behind color itself."

Based on evidence from the game files, the kid isn't Balgruf's biological son; he's Balgruf's brother. The theory is that Balgruf's parents had a child late in life, and died when the boy was very young. Balgruf then chose to raise the boy as his son.

The Arniel part of this video reminds me of the spiritual/psychological concept of an ego death, in a way. Similarly, it also reminds me of the concept that we live in a Matrix, or a simulation.

Well, there is a possibility that Balgruuf cheated on his wife, I won't deny it, but I have to to mention that explaining it with the age of the kids is not really a valid point, since in Skyrim everyone is either adult or 10 years old :D

You said the forgotten hero wore the Emperor's armour, but the Ebony Warrior is taller than every other human character I remember seeing. I think the Ebony Warrior is just a metaphor for dedicated Skyrim players. Somebody who has completed every quest, fought every battle, collected every item, and just wants to say goodbye to the game and that world but can't find a way to let it go.

The ebony warrior is just some guy Bethesda made up to serve as one more challenge for players. He wants to go to Sovngarde because that's apparently the only afterlife Bethesda's writers know about and he's a redguard so he gets a one-handed bonus. As for the dwemer and Arniel, I've said this before on other videos on the subject, but if the dwemer zero-summed, all their shit should have disappeared too, which it very much didn't. And Arniel's life essence or whatever ends up bound to the player (the "Summon Arniel's Shade" spell), so he didn't zero-sum either. But honestly, I lost interest in dwemer theories once I realized that Bethesda doesn't have an explanation. There's no answer to the mystery so all these fan theories are tenuously connecting random details that were put in without intention. The disappearance of the dwemer isn't a mystery, it's the _idea_ of a mystery and, quite frankly, I'm not interested in solving a puzzle with no solution.

My opinion on the Ebony Warrior is that he wanted to go to Sovngarde because it is a place of everlasting battle between the greatest warriors of all time, and this is his idea of the perfect afterlife. As a Redguard, he may have adopted the culture and lifestyle of a "True Nord" in an attempt to reach Sovngarde and that dying in battle against the Dragonborn on Nordic soil would be the surest method of being accepted as a non-nord. He was basically a Nord-weeb.

All these make sense except the ebony warrior considering that Legends came out years after Skyrim. Probably someone else who was dragonborn that went around slaying dragons and mastering everything. More of a knock on players who play to much and try to hard instead of just having fun.

My personal theory about Balgruf and his edgy son is that, because in game files they are tagged as SIBLINGS and not parent/child, I think that Balgruf's mother had the boy, but dies in childbirth so her son Balgruf takes care of his new brother as if it were his own child. Honestly, when people bring it up, and also mention them being tagged as siblings they go "woa Balgruf was even worse than just cheating" but since we never see Balgruf's parents (or any adult characters' parents I can think of off the top of my head) I think that the reason that edgelord kid mom isnt the same is because his dad is actually his brother. Kindof like stories you hear about teen girls having a kid, but their mother raises the child so they grow up as siblings even though they are parent/child but in the reverse

The mod creators/community have made this game immortal. Back on XB360 the only game changes we could do was upload different game saves. But when Bethesda released Skyrim SE they gave us console plebs a chance to mod. Fooking love this game. Thx for sharing

The courier never talked to anyone between giving me the letter from blue palace and my shout, yet he turned around and handed me a brand new letter from a friend, telling me how much trouble I caused when shouting at Lakeview Manor. He wouldn't have been able to have that letter, unless he himself IS that friend. "Don't know who from. He wouldn't say." ← Lame excuse from someone who tries to hide their identity?

I always though the ebony warrior was supposed to be Meta build? I mean as a redguard he had 50% poison resist on top of elemental resistances from armor enchantments. Sword and board is strong in vanilla and having a sword with drain health makes him pretty touch.

I don't know If this sounds bizarre to anyone but I have a story to share similarly to the theory way of how the dwemers disappered regarding the whole Skyrim being just a dream, a non existing reality, when I used to be a student in university I used to hang out with the wrong people and got hooked up with smoking weed, one day I hitted the pong and that is when I went straight to bed and that's when I was watching the roof of my room and realized that this whole life is just a dream, I still feel this life is just a dream even though I have stopped being high long time ago, so I kinda understand why they disappeared and agree to live in this dream cuz what is the point to live in a endless loop of fake reality..

That gave me an idea for a mod i just wish I was a mod creator lol, but it would a dope DLC like mod where the dude that recreated the disapearence of the Dwemer returns to tell the Dragonborn (us) that their Universe is not real, then there would be a part where we the actual player speak with our chatacter trough the text dialogs to like convince our characters to not kill himself or not feel worthless or other wise their universe would disapear idk some crazy story like that. Id totally install that mod

I remember coming home drunk as hell and playing Skyrim. About 3-4 months later I played it again. I was trotting along on my horse and stumbled upon a giant heap full of garbage in the middle of the road. When I was shitfaced, I must have dumped my inventory from being over encumbered. The hilarious thing is there was brooms, jugs, plates, cups, chipped swords, cabbages, candlesticks... you name it. If it was worthless, it was there. The only other time I gathered those types of things were literally my first 5 minutes of the game, before I found out they were more or less props. I found that hilarious and still try to remember what the hell I was doing with all that junk. I fear the memories are forever lost in my long ago alcohol fuelled stupor.

I don't play Skyrim anymore but there is a book at dragons reach about a man that killed his wife with an (if I remember correctly) woodsman's axe. In Balgruuf's chamber there is an axe and it looks identical to the "The Woodsman's Friend" found near the Hearthfire Home in Falkreath. But the axe in his chamber is not locked in a display case and is readily available. So why does he have this book and why does the axe look identical to the weapon you find?

Could the Forgotten Hero use the Thuum? I dont remember them ever doing that. It's kinda a big hole in the theory.

The term used in the Elder Scrolls for apotheosis, or waking up from the dream, is CHIM. This state can only be achieved though if you know the truth that you and everyone and everything doesn't exist/are all the same thing, but that you're so arrogant and strong willed that you refuse this ultimate truth. In a sense you will be lucid dreaming in reality, and can therefore change almost anything in the Elder Scrolls universe. That's how Tiber Septim supposedly turned Cyrodiil from tropical jungle into a more temperate climate.

Even if you go full stealth and pickpocket the gems and hearts dont show up until the warriors death " so what if the warrior actually has several heart's including the gems.
