I personally think Skyrim's graphics look better than modern ones. I just like the simpler textures. I prefer Dark Souls 2 textures and models over DS3, DMC3 over DMC5. And it's probably in a big part nostalgia, yes. But I just like the simpler aesthetics. I don't need it to be too real, I prefer it being more representative

But their king is actually under control of the silver-bloods, so them never actually taking over Markarth is probably intentional. And as to "the old gods", in the case of the nords is usually the modern aedra(and daedra) pantheon just with older names and sometimes some aspects of different gods are merged into one. So I think their religion actually is quite sensible

It is a shame because I rather like the idea of bringing your followers into Sky Haven Temple as recruits. I have an idea for a mod where you not only use your recruits to overthrow Delphine and Esbern but also end the civil war by staging a coup and returning to dragon rule over Skyrim. It would give the dragon priest masks some actual use if you gave them to various Jarls, however that's too much work for someone who has no idea what they're doing with CK and no time to do any of this Any modders out there feel like doing this be sure to credit a random youtube comment for the idea

Ulfric is NOT racist. He keeps the argonians on the docks for THEIR protection because the people the argonians rebeled against have a big portion of the city. On my last playthough I tried to use all vampiric bloods on Essence Extractor to mess with Septimus Signus. Turns out Vyrthur's blood can't be harvested.

The only thing I mislike about Velen is that it isn't bigger and doesn't include Gors Velen... That's how much I enjoy running around in it!

I think the dragon born wouldn't kill parthurnax and would join the empire because the thalmor must be stopped.

The only mods I'd use for skyrim are UI mods since its damn awful to navigate the vanilla interface on PC. Other than that, maybe some quest mods like Wyrmstooth, a mod to make the Skysteel weapons look a bit more unique in comparison to just plain steel weapons. I imagine Skyrim as a meal and mods as a spice, so dont change the entire composition of the meal with mods, only spice it up a little bit.

Morthal isn't a city it's just the largest settlement and Capital of a rural hold in a rural province of the empire. The only thing I'd change is giving it some walls (literally just log walls would do and are representative of Viking age settlements irl if you look at ringforts and such) and show more evidence of some kind of industry like fishing that support the hold. They could've added a little fishing village along the northern coast or something. Skyrim overall could do with more little villages in the holds. Markarth, Falkreath, and Windhelm especially which even have places like that look like they should be towns anyway like Old Hroldan and Kynesgrove. Winterhold was actually just botched though and should have evidence of the ruined city with nice non generic architecture and should probably have a village to the south or something because otherwise I don't know how the jarl is paying his guards.

Witcher 3 is the best on ps4 or xbox one consoles. There isn't a better rpg with the elements that the witcher 3 has for last gen consoles. The ONLY thing the witcher 3 lacks that other rpgs have is character creation. Current gen consoles will have the best of both worlds...skyrim and the witcher will make a baby I'm sure but until then on older consoles you have to choose...rpgs like skyrim , dragons age , dragons dogma , fallout etc that sacrifice gameplay for character customization and stuff like that or rpgs like the witcher 3 , valhalla , red dead redemption 2 etc that put more towards gameplay then character build. You'll see the pattern

Ive always said it, morrowind is the better "rpg". Skyrim is the best looking and has the most streamlined experience. .... oblivion is just the most fun. Its quirky, has depth, the main quest is just a suggestion and has plenty of depth without being cumbersome like morrowind can be at times. If oblivion had a reasonable leveling system, itd be a lot more favorable i imagine. Thank god for mods! Lol

Parthunax suggesting he may revert back to the old way, that's just something that happens far more often in reality because of people like Delphine and Esbern, instead of treating them with the humanity they expect others to give them, they treat them as a lesser being, then since they can't work to live a better life because people like Delphine and Esbern won't let them, then they just go back to what they know best, leading to recidivism. Don't declare a self-fulfilling prophecy that dragons are always "bad" or "evil" by continually provoking them to resort to violence, rather, aid Parthunax to reform the others and end the conflict between dragons and the people of Skyrim, or beyond.

Funny that you say the dragonborn would mostly be neutral. Ive never once completed either side of the civil war quest line. In my game i ignore both Ulfric and Tulius, call the peace treaty to get whiterun to help with capturing the dragon and then leave it at that. My head canon was always "Its not my place to prevent people from fighting for their independence and values, but on the other hand, my ancestors were literal kings of the empire." So i fulfil my duty as dragonborn and help out the little man as much as i can

i have a feeling there may be a Rift in the North, The Empire keeps control of Skyrim but (similar to Morrowind) it has its own special rules with Ulfric (or someone similar) as High King. At the same time, the Dragonborn spares Party Snax but the Blades hunt him down into hiding. The Thieves Guild have their own non-dragonborn do their questline along with the DBH and Mages. I do believe that the Dragonborn would do the Companions questline but cure themself of the curse. Ultimately, i believe the Dragonborn would “disappear” off the face of Nirn but unbeknownst to Tamriel, they stay in aprocritha with Hermaeus Mora so learn forbidden knowledge and to hone their skills of the voice to even forgotten shouts however, this is just my view and i doubt something like this would happen

Shivering Isles was nostalgia-bait for the people that missed the weirdness of Morrowind.

So in other words the canonical Dragonborn is the no fun play through.

I was 14 when Oblivion came out and I just remember so vividly watching the video review on Gamespot and then playing it. That first time coming out of the prison and seeing the mountains in the distance and then learning you can go there. That was for me so mindblowing.
