No one will accept it but Sai was kind of a replacement for Sasuke in team 7. Sai is an Anbu. Strong. Cool. Reserved. And sadly clueless. Ino liked cool guys. Also she found his cluelessness cute, giggling with her hand in front of her face. Sai was nicer than Sasuke. Ino was nicer than Sakura. They're more suitable. Plus Ino gives Sai attention he's rarely received. Was it really that complicating?

I'm surprised to hear sai wasn't liked by so many people. I thought he complimented naruto well and their interactions were hilarious. Him learning to fit into society was also super relatable and adorable. Also, his tsukiyomi dream was so precious and innocent. He grew so much. Sai didn't look anything like sasuke, all they had in common was black hair and pale skin though Sai is much paler than sasuke. All the other facial features are different

I loved Sai's character. I loved that he ended up with Ino too; her being so emotional and him not being emotional, it works out. I know everyone is in love with Sasuke, but in comparison, I liked Sai a lot better.

Ino has feelings with Sai since the day she saw him. Aside from having resemblance with Sasuke, Sai has a good heart. Ino lost her admiration to Sasuke when Sasuke became evil. Ino is not blind, she never chased a person who became dark, betrayed the village and comrades. She will love a pure and kind person who will never betray his comrades and his village. That's how she fell inlove with Sai.

Sai is really underrated and deserved to have more spotlight, along with Ino too. His background story is legit the saddest, he was essentially abused by Danzo and had nobody to rely on except Shin but whom died early. He didn’t even know who his parents were and what his real name was. Him having a family with Ino is what makes his character development so impressive, it shows that Sai is finally able to have a normal life by his own choosing. Ino is also one of the few people who never harbors any negative feelings towards Sai since their first meeting, unlike others, among other reasons, it makes sense why Kishimoto decided to put them together. However, Kishimoto should’ve highlighted the childhood abuse that Sai experienced to make audience sympathize more with him, instead he spent too much time on creating impression that he is the “replacement Sasuke”, which of course was not a good move if he really wanted Sai to be popular -_-

I didn't mind Sai when he became apart of team 7, yeah he was rude; so was Sasuke though lol. In fact not only was he rude, he abandoned his friends to hang around a guy that destroyed the village, and then also wanted to destroy the village. I don't even care Sai is the better team mate there.

SaixIno was an obvious and easy one. Come on, guys...who was Ino gonna end up with? Shikamaru? Choji? Sasuke? Nah....Ever since their first interaction you could tell it was meant to be. He fits the whole "Handsome-guy-Sasuke-shtick". After all, it makes sense for Ino to end up with Sasuke's substitute. Just Kishimoto doing his job… Plus this is Boruto, 99% of the characters are in a relationship. It's part of the "feel" of the new series - it's a symbol of prosperity, progress, change and most of all peace. I really liked Sai and Kishimoto's use of him during the Tenchi Bridge Reconnaissance Mission. He really helped rank up the tensions inside Team 7 to a whole new level. Perfectly integrated into Team 7's "Sasuke drama". His mysterious and elusive intentions added a thriller aspect to that arc - we just didn't know what was gonna happen, who was in cahoots with who. Very entertaining stuff. Of course after that Kishimoto really didn't know what to do with him and after all the fan backlash he was peer pressured into throwing Sai off the spotlight - which he did to many other characters, either because he wanted to appease the fans or because he just didn't know what to do with them. It's just another interesting character that ended up being squandered. Typical...

Ino had a crush on sasuke that was dragged out in her rivalry with Sakura. She only wanted to win the champions against Sakura like Naruto pursued Sakura in his rivalry with sasuke, but Sai is a lot like sasuke but better for ino. Ino was always weaker then Sakura, and even though I hate saying it only Sakura could handle sasuke I mean that guy had some serious issues he need professional healing. Sakura gave him that. What Ino needed was a kinder sort of love. Sai is a lot like sasuke, he called ino beautiful the first time he met her to hit it off. If first meetings are important for impressions then we already should have known they would get together. And they make a good couple cause ino is great at making people be better.

The worst hokage was the 2nd one, Tobirama. He pissed off the uchiha, sets them up as the police force, pisses off his neighbors, starts a war, dies in the war. Picks the 2nd worst hokage, the 3rd hokage to be his successor in a kind of, lottery like tag you're it moment. He caused the Uchia rebellion, the 1st and 2nd great ninja war, the Uchiha rebellion & massacre, Obito's attack on the village and the death of the 4th Hokage. Toberama is a lot like George W Bush, he did such a shitty job that he caused a nearly equally shitty successor and let a legacy of dead bodies, broke families and orphans growing up in his wake.

As someone who is autistic, I kinda felt like Sai was autistic too. Social interactions are really hard for me to understand at times. It took me years of hanging around normal people. Sai didn't have that, so he really didn't understand emotions.

You could have also talked about the fact that Sai as former ANBU and Ino as a Yamanaka would have been paired together in the past for work in interrogation, investigation, and other similar ops that did not require close-range or mid-range fighting. I think, other than what you have mentioned so far which were a given, Ino and Sai developed by constant working together.

It makes sense for the story line that they would end up together. Ino as the leader of the Yamanaka clan needed to produce a heir and the only way for that child to keep the Yamanka last name was for the father to take the last name of Ino. So Ino needed to marry someone who did not know his origins and would gladly take her last name.

Sai and Sasuke: Part of team 7, Had a loving brother who cared about them, had a final fight with their brother, brother dying due to an incurable illness, brother reanimated. Pretty similar sibling back story.

sai was a replacement for the empty space in team seven but as a character sai is not a replacement for sasukes character . sai brought a lot of interesting and funny moments in the anime , his robotic character learning and developing to literally become a normal human bough a good amount of humour . if anything his interactions with naruto was really funny . sai really was a good character , my baby doesn’t deserve the hate .

With the exception of Hinata, who was team Naruto from age 5. At first, I believed Sai was odd but once his past was explained it was understandable. These writers seem to be famous for things happening off-screen. Strange enough Sai personality, in the beginning, reminds me of Mitsuki. I shipped it. I'm glad Ino and Sai got together.

On your "how did Danzo get away with this" bit, Danzo and Sarutobi were close friends (similar to Naruto and Sasuke). I'm assuming that Sarutobi couldn't completely punish Danzo for his extreme actions because of his friendship with him. If you remember the flashback to the Uchiha genocide where Sarutobi and Danzo talk in the street, Sarutobi was pissed, but didn't really do anything to punish Danzo.

In sakura's novel , it was sakura who made interraction between them helping ino to get noticed by sai then dating him !

And Ino showed Sai he has friends and I think that was suppose to be the filler episode that sparked their relationship
