How Diff Locks Work in Force Gurkha ? Fully explained ||

This video is all about using the Manual Diff Lock mechanism on Force Gurkha.
The diff lock forces all wheels to spin at the same speed, regardless of traction. This is helpful if you encounter difficult terrain and one or more wheels leave the ground, as full power remains on the other wheels ensuring you are still moving in the direction of travel.
First, a diff lock should not be engaged for on-road driving, unless weather conditions such as snow or ice mean that extra traction is required. Use your locking differential when you want to go off road, for driving on difficult terrain, such as dirt, gravel, mud or snow. You will only need to engage your locking differential when you need extra traction, so you may only use it for a few moments on each off-road adventure.

Awesome vlog. You risk your own car to highlight this tricky scenarios. Really thankful of you to highlight the ace of a car this Gurkha is. This diff locks are very handy in bad track conditions where people go by momentum rather than proper engineering tool, which Gurkha definitely has. No wonder after market diff lock for fortuners cost almost one forth of the vehicle

Prashant bhai, maan gaye aapko, the most simplistic and effective way to demonstrate 4x4 and diff lock mechanism to the common man. I appreciate you for your earnest effort for doing this demonstration. But it is not advisable to conduct these type of demos on public roads. I completely understood what is differential locking.. Very simple. 1) when 4*4 wheels fail to work during a bad situation. Differential lock come like a super man. Even though all 3 tyres are in air.. Single tyre will be able to move the vehicle.. Some times front 1 wheel and rear 1 wheel. Differential lock 🔒 makes the vehicle come out of the place whenever all wheel fails...

How I wished this video was available earlier. I had to learn this hard way after being fooled by Force personnel for two years. I checked the working of diff locks at Force dealer's place using 4 jacks. Instead of selective lowering of wheel to touch ground I used my hands to stop one wheel (speed very low, otherwise very dangerous) when diff lock was not engaged. In engaged position it was not possible to stop one wheel as the entire axle had become rigid like train wheel axle.

Dear Prashant, personally I prefer old school type manual hub locks..they're much more reliable and less trickier than the differntial locks. Unfortunately no one makes them anymore in this country. In Australia there are many companies who can custom build off roading equipments from Jeeps to Pikups ( Yutes ). Its a dream country for living off the grid kind of life. Live Long N Prosper 🖖

Amazing how Gurkha has been updated in new version. In the video, the gear lever of old Gurkha seems like from a roadways bus, but in new Gurkha, it is a normal car gear lever. Good video and great effort. 😀

Prashant Ji, this is absolutely a great vehicle with loads of off-road stuff comes as a standard when we purchase. Good practical examples what you are showing out there. However, the location where you were, is not the best site as you are occurring the road on a hill climb and there is ongoing traffic as well. Also, no hazard lights are ON during this experiment. I usually don't trust anyone on the road while driving, not because I'm scared of ongoing vehicles, but I'm cautious always, 100% due to ameture drivers/riders are everywhere. I just want to avoid them.! This is just my opinion and humble request/advice. I personally love your work.! May God Bless You and Have a Wonderful Drive 😘🤩👍
