I feel like with some better branding and faster/higher capacity boats, this could be a great addition to the park nowadays! I'd love to see a new take on it! Great video as always!

Another great video! It’s a real testament to this park that despite the many MANY issues it’s had in the last 25 years, it still manages to make an impact on its guests.

I enjoy all of your videos, but anything involving Animal Kingdom will always be a plus in my books 🤪 It’s crazy how much the ride had to change over its short lifetime. I had no idea that it went through so many iterations - let alone one themed to Radio Disney lol. I totally get why the ride didn’t survive, but it’s unfortunate that these hub-style boat rides aren’t around anymore. I for one would’ve loved something like this!

This was a fantastic story and well explained as to the whole backstory and eventual demise. There’s such a ‘What If’ feeling when hearing about Beastly Kingdom, I remember seeing the dragon carved into the benches and always hoped it would eventually happen. Shame that I missed the boat ride by a few short months.

I’d love to see a revived and reimagined Discovery River Boats attraction with life-sized animal statues of real animals and prehistoric animals and mythical animals, small animal exhibits on the shores, cameo appearances from Disney characters throughout the Discovery River Boats tour, and handlers showing small cages with smaller animals along with ambient music to match the settings, characters, and animal statues that the boats would pass! The boat tours would be closed off for certain shows playing along the waters of the Discovery River like daytime and nighttime shows! List of Animal Statues for Different Sections of the Tour: - Real Animals (the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Oceania) - Lion - Cheetah - Elephant - Rhino - Zebra - Giraffe - Hippo - Crocodile - Gorilla - Tiger - Orangutan - Komodo Dragon - Kangaroo - Jaguar - Dolphin - Manatee - Dinosaurs and Prehistoric Creatures (DINOLAND USA) - Tyrannosaurus Rex aka T-Rex - Triceratops - Parasaurolophus - Iguanodon - Brachiosaurus - Carnotaurus - Woolly Mammoth - Smilodon - Mythical Creatures (a few mythology themed areas) - Yeti (adjacent to Asia) - Kirin (adjacent to Asia) - Eastern Dragon (possibly a Chinese Dragon adjacent to Asia) - Bunyip (adjacent to Australia) - Western Dragon - Unicorn - Phoenix (adjacent to Africa and Asia) - Kraken - Sea Serpent - Cactus Cat - Jackalope - Chupacabra

@@StorybookAmusement Heck yeah it is! I included a list of animal statues that represent the real, ancient, and imagined animals of modern Earth, prehistoric Earth, and mythology sprinkled throughout this new Discovery River Adventure Cruise boat ride! How exciting would that be?

We went to Animal Kingdom in 2009 and we found that they was not much to do. It's a shame that Beastly Kingdom never came to fruition. And the river boats were removed. It would make sense to connect the lands with a river boat just as the train provides at Disneyland. I don't understand why Disney is deleting attractions inside of expanding. Dinoland unfortunately will be the next.

Animal Kingdom definitely needs new additions before closing old attractions. I wouldn't want to visit that park with even fewer rides than it already has.

I’d prefer the Discovery River Journey boat ride to be a newer and more exciting attraction and mode of transportation with statues of real animals, prehistoric animals, and mythical animals sprinkled throughout ! The boat ride could be an interesting experience!

Pioneering creatives that used to work there are all retiring or being forced out …whereas now, marketing and middle management drives many of the creative decisions.

VERY interesting look back at this attraction (👏). I for one can’t help but be reminded of the “Jurassic Park River Adventure” due to this attraction having an animatronic dinosaur (🦕). Such a shame *Aladar* there got the short end of the stick (😔).

Instead of the charred remains of many knights who tried to fight the dragon a dragon scene for the reimagined Discovery River Journey Boat Cruises would have dragon eggs and statues of dragons and an impressive Eastern Dragon!
