I appreciate you saying that you don’t hold a grudge against Runaway Railway - as much as I both loved and miss Great Movie Ride, I was blown away by Runaway Railway and it became one of my favorite rides in WDW

Same! It's so delightful. Could it have gone somewhere else in the park to save the old ride? Sure, but that doesn't make it any less fun.

I’m still missing Tom Sawyer’s Landing…. Perhaps the most dangerous and most fun ‘playground’ in history. The remnants are still there including the bridge but most of it is gone.

Cedar Point ruined Dorney Park. It was great until 1992. They removed all the original themed rides, cut most trees down, the fun original water rides, and replaced everything with pavement and generic rides / roller coasters.

you didn't mention there was a fatality due to the simultaneous launch on duelling dragons. how could you overlook that?
@StorybookAmusement2 күн бұрын
The ride's incidents resulted in injuries, not a fatality. I mentioned it indirectly in the section about its closure. I go into more detail about it in my Dueling Dragons video from a few years ago. I chose not to go into too much detail as I don't like sensationalizing such accidents. It's very sad.

This ride could've really benefitted with projection technology, projecting onto the vortex to make it appear to be rotating and hurling debris around much faster than it actually was, projecting rain blowing sideways, ect.

That sounds hard to pull off, but it'd be interesting to see a modern take on this attraction!

I worked in maintenance from 81' to 94' as a painter. When they changed to the Looney Tunes theme, I painted those boxes labeled TNT and such in the shop. My co-worker repainted the black ceiling. When it was lunch time, he would come out black all over with his white eyes. I had to laugh. 😂

All of these themes sound like far better ideas than most of the stuff they include in US parks. They're fun to visit maybe once or twice, but have no appeal to return again like Disney, Six Flags, ans Knotts do. Harry Potter World changed that, but it's a bit sad how much traction that section gets in comparison to the rest of the park.

I will say that blue sky concepts always sound more special than reality. But it's fun to imagine what if!
@jaydenchrist61529 күн бұрын
This is such a sad and scary story i cant imagine what i would do if i was the teenagers in this situation being trapped in a pitch black building 2000 degrees in flames with nowhere to go. Six flags should have also put a memorial to the victims that died in this unfortunate accident. Whats more angering is six flags had oppertunitys to update the attraction and get it up to better saftey standards like even the manufacturer offered to update the building and they declined and left it the same knowing the potential danger. The only good thing to come out of this situation was that it tought other amusment parks a lesson about getting haunted house attractions up to proper saftey standards.
@BurtMcNasty9 күн бұрын
I went during the opening season and it was a let down, but you could definitely see where they were going with it so I was optimistic. The admission price did not reflect what was actually available at the park, and the purple coaster was extremely rough. Only took a couple hours to see everything then we spent the rest of the day at the water park because they offer dual passes. I'll go back for sure as they expand, and I'm happy there is finally some competition for Adventureland so they can start to update and modernize.

The fact that a real tornado hit the area while the ride was in development is wild 😮 It was nice to hear Universal’s response though. I did get to experience this ride once back in 2013. It was fun, but I don’t think I appreciated it as much back then as I think I would today.

This park is absolutely beautiful. I was blown away by how much detail the family put into the park. You can tell that they genuinely put their heart and souls into its creation. It puts the only rival it has, Adventureland in Des Moines, to shame. We were able to go on every ride that wasn't meant for small children within two hours when we went last year. The crowds were so dead that employees were sitting around bored out of their minds waiting for anyone to approach their rides. Since the greenery is still young, there's barely any shade outside of some of the queues and other buildings. That gorgeous Nopuko coaster was admittedly very painful to ride. I've heard the same of Matugani, which has unfortunately been out of service every time I've visited. I really hope that this park is able to make it past its first few years. The family clearly put a lot of work into it and I hope I never have to see it close its door due to its scary low attendance.
@StorybookAmusement7 күн бұрын
Great comments on the park! Matugani is not painful at all in my experience, but I agree that Nopuko is very jolty.

I just found your channel and subscribed! This was a nicely put together video. I was born in 1995 (a few years after Journey was demolished so I never got to see it in person) and went to Dorney Park many times as a kid. I remember hearing a lot about this ride but until recently just decided to look more into it. It looked small, yes and I can understand now why it was eventually removed but it still looked neat overall. Granted I do feel Thunder Canyon and White Water Landing are adequate Shoot the Shoot rides.
