I've always been extremely insecure about my teeth to the point where I don't even show my smile because of it. I've always wanted braces ever since I was little, but my family just couldn't afford it. You guys are lucky to be given this opportunity.

Just finished wearing them yesterday, wearing clear retainers now . 2 years and 8 months of wearing them. My teeths was crowded as fuck before, now it's straight and my bite works like magic. Trust me to all those who plans to get braces, GET THEM. Yes in early stages it's going to cause a bit of pain but after awhile you'll get used to it trust me and others who had them. In the end, you'll have a life changing experienced , new smile and new you ;) . My journey has passed, now it's yours. Goodluck braces gang 👊🏾

i got braces last year. here’s a tip/fact: i still had to do things after, so i had to eat and live life. at first you feel awkward, it doesn’t hurt like you think it would, at least immediately. after a few hours, it will affect you and it will hurt, so be careful. my tip is to heat up toaster pastries really soft, cut them into small slices, and chew with your back teeth, because they hurt less, also get a pillow, find a corner, and smush your forehead right into the pillow. this helped me before i got braces, i had spacers to be able to get the rings on my molars. i thought they were the most uncomfortable part of the braces process. the next morning, i woke up and one was gone, that meant it worked well. i thought i swallowed it until that night, where i found it in my bed, if you get powerchains, they suck so do rubber bands. i once in public forgot to take them out and ate pasta with marinara sauce, and they were stained red, i realized i didn’t have a change, and it looked like i ate someone. tips!

To all those dudes raving about braces: They aren't that bad. The pain will subside. Your teeth will be better because of them. You can surprisingly eat a lot of food with them. ~ From someone with braces

As someone had said, if you're going to have braces, or do have them, don't fret. I had braces for 1.5 years when I was supposed to have them for 2.5 or 3 years. - Braces aren't nearly as bad as you think. - Make sure to brush twice a day, use mouth rinse, and floss to prevent tooth decay from braces. - You can eat a lot more stuff with braces than you can imagine. (The food I had the most difficulty with was bread) - They don't even hurt that badly, usually unnoticeable. The first week will be the worst, but it's still not even that bad. Even though everyone speaks of braces sucking and being absolute torture, I assure you it's not bad at all. The worst part has to be when the braces uncomfortably prick the sides of your mouth. But that's what wax is for, so don't worry.

If you're getting braces, immediately after getting the, and leaving the orthodontist,the clock is ticking and you have a maximum of 2 hours to eat any food without initial pain. There might be discomfort and awkwardness, but no pain Your welcome

I remember my years back when I was wearing braces. It was so painful to fall asleep and I had to be careful when I eat cause the pressure applied when biting also hurts my teeth. It was agonizing but I am grateful for the results. To those who are going thru painful brace days just remember to stay strong, try to alleviate the pain as much as u can, maybe some ice but dont chew on ice since it's bad for the enamel of ur teeth, and take some painkillers if the pain is unbearable. U got this :)

If you’re getting braces: It feels super weird at first but I promise you you’ll get used to it If you’re getting color ties pick darker colors and don’t pick green or yellow After you get braces, for about two hours you won’t have any pain so eat whatever you want but as soon as that’s over you’ll be in PAIN At the beginning if you think it looks bad it doesn’t you’re just not used to it yet trust me Use dental wax!! If you’re experiencing pain at first take Advil and Tylenol If you feel like your teeth are wiggling a couple days after you get them that’s completely normal You can still eat majority of the things they tell you you can’t, just be careful Wear your rubber bands!! - From someone with braces

I had put my braces yesterday in the upper teeth for now, it took roughly 15 minutes, wasn’t painful but after few hours, each teeth started to pain and dinner was hard to eat.. woke up this morning with my lip stucked to my braces lol and it’s just tender all the time. It’s working!

Today's makes 4 months and 8 days since I've gotten braces. My 6 week appointments seem to be flying by.. I'm taking it one day at a time. It's one of the best decisions I've made in my life..

Everybody says that getting braces hurt, but when I got them, I barely felt them. Guess I got lucky..

I’ve had braces for around 5 months now and I’ve never lost a bracket except for one which wasn’t connected to anything yet and the orthodontist even said he didn’t glue it on securely. He said it would most definitely fall off no matter what but it was no big problem.

For the people who complaining about their brace, you should be happy cause it is one of my dream to have brace

Wow this is amazing. I had braces myself, but I didn't know the part about how this actually works.

I've had my braces for a little more then a month and the first week (for me) was horrible. My mouth hurt and I only ate yogurt and pudding. Now I can eat food which is very nice. I'm gonna get them adjusted in like 2 weeks so I'm getting closer to living the good life lol.

In a seven year period I had two complete sets of braces, one expander, four spacer, 12 extra teeth removed, and three retainers. Oh....by the way the expander does it names sake and boy it sucked. I now have a great smile and no longer drool or have a massive overbite......it was worth it. The teeth that were pulled 2 were baby teeth and they were not going to fall out and there was no room for them, six were wisdom teeth....yes I had six wisdom teeth, and four of them the doctors had never seen before in a human. They asked me if they could keep the teeth for archiving......I said yes.

I had braces for 2 years. I’ve had mine off for 6 months now. To anyone who is nervous, I actually liked braces! Of course, I didn’t like going to get them tightened and such, but I thought the look of them suited me well

Yeah, I picked Invisalign over braces and I felt like it was good choice. No limitations on foods, no hard metal part infront of your teeth that can cause uncomfortable canker sores.

I got braces at a week or so before I turned 10. Had them on for 6 months. After that I wore a retainer for around a year and a half. But I did have a pallet expander for a while before I got my braces as well.

I'm watching this because I need braces but my mom can't afford it. I hope we get through it as soon as possible. I'm so insecure about my smile. I wanna have perfect teeth and better smile ❤😔

When you try to figure out why something happens without acknowledging that everything has happened for a reason and before the question is answered their is always a solution presented before the problem has been completely solved which is practical at first but not necessarily the best but its good because you will be able to build off of what you learned and be able to improve the standards for anything reasonably specific making the world a better place so is the cycle of the world we live in therefore this can be applied to any situation this comment is specific towards

I've seen people in the comments tell us their brace ''horror stories'' such as swallowing a bracket or a band snapping, but I've had my braces for about 9 months now, and the worst I've had is maybe a bracket that has flipped around, it really just depends on your orthodontist or dentist that fits your braces, my orthodontist has consisted on multiple orthodontists fitting my new braces every 5 weeks, and only 1 of them was slightly uncomfortable. I don't know if there's problems just have the top set, or the bottom set, because I have both, I don't think there is a way to counter these ''problems'' but if these problems are occurring every so often, then you'd probably want to complain or even consider a new orthodontist or dentist.
