Awakening, the way DF explained it was a little different to me. He already had it in his head that a devil fruit power is only limited by the user's imagination. I feel like once you hit a wall with your abilities to use your fruit, awakening is when you push forward. Chopper, I think is just one step away from awakening, he only needs to go monster point without a rumble ball and gain incredible recovery time.

One point about Crocodile having awakening: the moment he was defeated, it started raining again. And it was stated that while Crocodile lived on Alabasta, there was a considerable drought. (The dance powder involved was used to frame the king, not to cause the drought.) So even if Alabasta was a desert kingdom before Croc came around, it is totally possible that Croc did use his fruit to cause a drought, that only ended when he was knocked out. Obviously it is more likely that rain was more of a symbolic decision by Oda, but still, if we are being pedantic we can count it as a hint of Croc's awakening.

I believe that a devil fruit sticks to the soul of the user, So it's like a spiritual path with the fruit you eat and it'll, Awaken when you're soul unlocks it. Age doesn't matter much then, maybe it would Awaken faster with who the person is.

I've always thought of awakening as a deep understanding of how your fruit works, and how to extend that to other things. The parallel I think of is Toph in the Last Airbender. In her efforts to escape a metal prison, she realized the metal was nothing more than minerals that are in the earth that she could already manipulate.

I think Nico Robin and Brook will be the next Strawhats to awaken their fruit, not just because of their age, but because of their experience, and how efficient and versatile they use their fruits.

I think every Paramecia’s Awakening is different due to the premise of the Paramecia class. For example, I think Kidd’s Awakening would allow him to magnetize things other than metallic objects, becoming an Everything-Magnet while I believe Luffy’s awakening will allow him to take full advantage of his rubbery body, providing him absolute malleability and allowing him to shapeshift.

My head cannon is that paremecias are in 3 category's. Ones that change the user, ones that create something, and ones that effect the environment/other people. Fruits in the first 2 categories get the ability to effect the environment, but the ones in the last category get their activation requirement removed.(whitebeards fruit is the only one that doesn't fit. That reminds me, couldn't it be that Nico Robin's Devil Fruit is already awakened? I mean, we’ve seen that it puts a lot of strain and stress on him to create a large enough ‘room’ but, imagine he does this, baits someone in Kaido/BigMom, and ‘shambles’ them deep under ??? I don’t know what restrictions there are as to levels of haki mastery one would need to avoid that or counteract it but, Vergo had the best armament haki we had seen to that point but, that was a slice (physical attack). What could counteract/defend against ‘shambles’?

Remember in the drum island arc where Doctorine described choppers monster point as "the devil fruit running wild". Maybe it does have to do with the users spirit. I personally think DFs awaken differently depending on the fruit itself. The only ones canon we have seen awakened fall in two categories: fruits that “emit,” and fruits that focus power on the user only. The former include the fruits of Doffy, Katakuri, and the admirals. The latter includes the Impel Down demon guards. IMO, Luffy’s power is closer to a zoan’s in that it only affects the user. Awakened zoans become more animalistic by becoming less human-minded and more unnaturally powerful. Awakened “emitter” fruits allow the user to “create” even more of that element or material they could normally. Since Luffy has never manifested his power outwardly, just in his own body, I think his awakening would be an absolute maximization of all the traits of rubber. So he becomes more elastic, more resilient, more insulated, etc. This might give him crazy abilities like being able to sustain Red Hawk flames over his whole body for a long time, enhance his stamina by using the natural rebounding properties of rubber so Luffy doesn’t need to use his muscles so much, and stretch more quickly and further, etc. Imagine the awakening doing things like rolling gears 2, 3, and 4 into one without any drawbacks before he even begins applying haki. I think this makes sense and would suit Luffy more than “emitting” his rubber powers, as the nature of his power is closer to that of a zoan when we examine how his power works. It doesn’t affect the environment but just himself.

i always considerd awakaning is to think and effect things more then just what the fruit would initialy effect you, like with buggy he avoids attacks on multiple levels to the point of his clothes also avoiding it instead of being cut in a few instinces. and the one that i think would be considerd a "awakaning" in this context is blueno with his doa doa fruit being able to create doors to the point he creates a door out of air to another dimension. if it was in this context it becomes more of a perseption of how you see your ability then what it does

I think the awaken for paramecia (or however you spell it) is how you said it in another video to where the 3 categories of paramecia are manipulate that thing, your body is that thing or you can manipulate the surrounding into that thing (I think that was the 3 categories) and when you awaken the fruit you unlock another category based of the way you use the fruit. My bad if I got this all wrong

that whole sensory ability you mentioned, that might be one of luffy's awakened abilities, if he makes everything rubber, if someone steps on an area it would make ripple effects as it bounces out, luffy with observation could probably sense that, as for using it practically in a fight, eg against kaido, when luffy gets wacked by the beast himself, he would just rebound and fly at kaido with the same force that he was knocked away with, kaido would literally be hitting himself, luffy could perhaps use that rebound force on top of his new upgraded armorment haki for an even deadlier blow, luffy's awakening really fits with his character, it seems goofy but it could be really deadly to his enemys

I think it's something like you have to push yourself to the limit with your fruits abilities constantly and it slowly evolves getting better and more powerful until awakening, and it would incorporate the time factor because it takes a while to reach the level of limit surpassing and understanding of your devil fruit
