Social media has a lot of people thinking they are behind in life. Half these folks are out here showing off on BORROWED money. Fancy trips, new outfits, but credit score is in the toilet. A few years of living modestly will set you up for a lifetime of comfort and financial freedom (especially if you don’t have kids yet). Live in a small apt, drive a used car, cut the cable cord, cook at home. Save your money! You can still go out sometimes but set a budget for it and stick to it. The come up takes time

Alexa Jae 👏👏👏👏👏social media is everybody's best moments perfectly captured and filtered. That's NOT their real life. It's so easy to get sucked into it and feel like you have to keep up but what are you really keeping up with? Debt? Deadbeat parenting? A picture of a smile with a nice backdrop? What happened behind the scenes?

Life his wife wantz? I thought two people got married. What life does he want? Does he have no desires of happiness? Sounds like his wife is ungrateful and self absorbed? What ever happened to through thick and thin? Sounds like equality isnt what this woman want? This notion has me sea sick. Stressed about work? Or is she resenting the man she married? The wife seems more worried about her stress than the family stress? Young men, love a woman who loves you first, and not what you provide, because a woman who is riding with you will appreciate your efforts, she will strengthen your soul, she will encourage your grind, she will build your weakness all while just be happy that she has a man out doing bis best to take care of his family!!!! Tons of questions and only one real answer. Marriage isnt for everyone!

spoildchik1 I agree, they need to learn to be proud of what you accomplished now! Stop trying to be rich with material things. Those things come more stress to maintain it, higher property taxes, more $$ for upkeep on the property. These young people want it all fast, it takes time to build a life together and a career. Don’t quit a job, find another one and resign. Never go without jobs based on not liking a job. You will be more stressed when it takes 5-6 months to find another job and only have one income. Life isn’t perfect, it’s what you make of it now and enjoy it. Even if you do simple inexpensive things together, picnic, beach, riding bikes in country side area ect. Young people are focused on the wrong things looking at these rich celebrities.

Its true what those two said. My husband came to canada with me at the age of 21. He had 0$..and a suitcase with him..we lived with my parents for a longer time and slowly but surely got to make a life..he works VERY hard while i at at home with the kids. Now at the age of 27 we are hopefully going to be closing on a house deal soon. Its an old house that needs renovation but we would rather do that than buy a house where we have way too high of a payment. Our cars are all older but payed in cash so no debt there. All our friends and family try to show of with their big homes and cars but have so mucb debt. I dont want that. I would rather be happy and even if it mean having less right now. I will be going to work too whe the kids are a bit older so more money will come eventually and maybe then we can afford more vacations or nicer things but thats all in time. Dont cave into the pressure of media and celebreties who have all of the bling. Go at your own pace in your own time. As long as you do your best you will reach your goal evemtully one day

A big house comes with more stress if you can't afford it. No need to stress over what you are not ready for at 25. Their is real joy in being content and setting goals for what you want in the future and working towards them. Don't only set goals at the very top all the time. Set mid point goals along the way to the top so you can appreciate progress without the pressure.

Let me say this. I used to think I was the only person on the planet that actually believed "Money *DOES* by happiness" I really did. Because I believed happiness is subjective. What would make you happy, doesn't make me happy. Then I went to work for a divorce law firm and saw 14 years of multi millionaires, coming into our office for a divorce. Listening to their back stories, the cheating, infidelity, drug abuse, dishonesty, etc. etc, that was cold water in my face. Trust me, I now agree with the adage *"money doesn't buy happiness"*

There's some good advice in this video and thread that applies to a lot of people. It seems like everybody is trying to keep up with what they see on social media, or how they perceive others to be living. Most of those lifestyles are fake, not smart financial decisions, and/or short lived. Yes there are people who actually do live lavish lifestyles and can actually afford it, but they are few and it took a while to achieve most likely. The majority of people won't be rich or make a lot of money. That's just a fact of life. 75% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, and that's REGARDLESS of income. So having more money won't necessarily make for a more comfortable life. Usually it just means more unnecessary stuff that will be accumulated. Living within your means, being grateful, making smart financial decisions, and planning and building for the future will take you so far in life.

The best clip of all to those who are young and chasing material success. This young man is already on the good path since he asked a core question of life. He is successful by all means at his age 25 and only need to compare his present vs the past instead of vs others. Big house doesn’t mean sweet home. Build a home with love one. Cherish each other with your friends and families. Doesn’t need a lot money for that.

I have not worked in 10 years. My husband and i have a nice small home we don't travel much bc we still have two kids in high school. Our goal is to began traveling in the next 5 years. One thing he loves to speak on is how peaceful his life is. Love each other and make plans for the future while building on your life.

Put God first, the house which fear God always will be happy. Second priorities things. Most of us we dont have priorities. When we get money just spending money without account. I have worked with minimum wage bofore, and on our first anniversary i surprised my lovely wife for a trip to Dubai, we had great time of our lives. So put God first always you will be happy, and then priorities. Is the waay better to have a small house and have happy family, than have huge house and spend most of your time looking for money to pay for that house, and then you loose a family. Do a research, most of rich forks their family life are misserable. Money is not solution to happy home, Gos is.

You are never responsible for a spouse fantasy lifestyle you just do that if you feel necessary or you have enough luxury for that. I split bills with my husband and we spend on each other. We have a good finance and we go on vacation at least twice in a year and we both pay for the bills. Its always a wonderful experience for my husband and I, although I wouldn't I'm in a perfect marriage trust me I have been married for over 36 years and we are still going. My families financial structure became firm with the intervention of Brittney Adams a Financial guru.

One of America's problem is wanting the big expensive house and expensive cars. Day after you buy them you're unhappy because now you're stuck in a job you may not like but have to keep the job so you can pay for those expensive things. Live low key and do in-expensive things together. Then you can take trips when you want.
