This is a procedure done for a toe break or painful toe when you don't want to tape them to each other also called buddy taping.

Very helpful. I badly stubbed my toe in a foreign country and tried the typical buddy taping but that was feeling worse/awkward. This actually feels like it stabilized the 4th toe and will help until I can get seen. Thank you!

I stubbed my fourth toe real bad at home with the furniture. Went to ER they took X-rays and said its a mild fracture and buddy taped it. 3 days later i went to a GP who changed the tape using same technique, again 3 days later tape was changed by nurse who used another buddy taping technique. Then 3 days later another nurse changed the tape and used a bandage instead. In the above case the fourth toe was always bound to the bigger toe for support. All these doctors told me to exercise my foot using foot pumping exercise to avoid DVT and to use half side of the foot while walking. When finally i got an appointment ( 2 weeks later) with the orthopedist. He took X - rays and saw that it was all misdiagnosed. It was not a mild fracture as diagnosed by ER but it was a severe fracture. The x-rays showed no healing at all. The orthopedist said he thinks it could be cause of the different buddy taping techniques used and the fact that i was not told by any doc to not use my foot let alone doing the foot/ankle pumping exercise. He then strapped the fourth toe alone to completely immobilize it and waiting for the next x-rays. Just unbelievable how you can be guided so wrong!

thank you! no wonder on day 13 my 4th toe still hurts so terrible, the hospital told me to keep taping it to my 3erd toe. .. hurts more today than yesterday and it's not getting better errrrr

Hi Sir, I am speaking from Assam, I have fractured my 4th finger, they went to (GMCH) hospital, they plastered me all ove foot , Sir, when I had a problem, they removed the plaster and did the staping. Sir, what is the better way to do the staping. no problem sir

I stubbed my 4th toe against the bed. Got super black I went to emergencies but they told me isn’t fractured!! However it’s been almost 6 days and I still have pain is still purple. I do my normal activities .. why hurts so long if not broken? I tied the 4th and 3rd together but hurts more if I sleep with that so I don’t use anything I must add I went to the gym to work upper body 5 days after injury and I walk limping a bit

Is this is usually enough to avoid surgery if slide dislocation on 4th metatarsal head? My doctor taped it yesterday after noticing slide dislocation. I just had Weil osteomoty on 4th metatarsal 10 weeks ago, seeing the slide dislocation on X-ray made me fear the need of another surgery.

What happens to the fourth toe if you buddy tape it?? I broke mine in the summer of 2017 and my gymnastics coach told me to buddy tape it. But during that winter I ended up dislocating the same toe

If you buddy tape it should be fine, usually is to the larger 3rd toe and normally is not a problem.

my 4th toe got fractured last july 13, 2017 andtoday it's still tender and painful 4/10 painscale....i budddy taped it as my doc ordered...is this normal? thanks :(

Buddy taping it works fine you can tape the 4th to the 3rd (tape the broken toe next to the larger toe). I hope that helps

Is this strapping is for anjury or i can use it for my toe? (I dont think my toe have a injury but sometime it crak and it Hurt but not a lot)

Okkkk No, this is usually used when the toe is broken or badly sprained
