How do we Treat Carpal Tunnel Syndrome? in this video, Dr. Chappell shares common symptoms, treatments and his unique approach diagnosing and treating carpal tunnel pain. Carpal tunnel syndrome affects more than 12 million Americans and results in 500,000 surgeries every year. Traditional open and endoscopic carpal tunnel release (CTR) procedures can be effective but may result in a lengthy recovery period and a large and sometimes painful scar. Dr. Chappell's treatment is done in the office and patients recover in as little as four days!
Have you been living with the pain and limitations of carpal tunnel syndrome? Have you put off treatment because you didn’t like the available options? Now there’s a brand-new approach and Dr. Craig Chappell is the first doctor in Utah able to offer it. Call our office at 801-610-7321 to see if this treatment is right for you.

@@tinoheat728 Doctors are shit at their job when it involves diagnosing chronic pain, you get shuffled around to different doctors sometimes even making it worse. Hilariously depressing when you realize years of chronic pain could've been solved/diagnosed relatively.

@@geroldgerold7319 1 million percent correct. Exhaust all testing, drugs, therapy, and long lobby wait times. After weeks of therapy I realized I was on a generic plan and there was no focus on if it would help. In fact, they stopped asking if there is any improvement and kept to their scripted routine as if I put a coin in their machine. I have a pile of wrist braces and conflicting opinions from different drs to wear or not wear them. No ultrasound though so wondering why they have scheduled a nerve conduction test vs an ultrasound. Probably how I found this video…

I have suffered from Carpal Tunnel in both of my hands for years and nothing has even come close to giving me the kind of relieve that this taping method has. Within seconds, I could feel the tingling and numbness going away and I could feel my fingers again. I work from home by doing many different types of customized projects for individuals, and my hands are a MUST have. Thank you so much for sharing this method, it has given me back the ability to do what I love.

This is one of the best descriptions which I am glad I watched. Also, my regular orthopedist doesn't do the endoscopic method. He opens from the top. I had a friend that showed me her scar and I said no to that. I am a plumber and didn't want all of that tissue cut hence a longer healing procedure. So like I did, you have the option to find the right orthopedist. From the time I left surgery until full healing which was within two weeks, I had zero pain when the pain medicine he injected before sewing up wore off. I was actually not thinking the next day and lifted a heavy about 10 pound soup pot to start a pot full of water and beans without even thinking about it. This was with my wrist wrapped up, I forgot and lifted that pot no problem. So don't worry or stress. They put me completely under with an anesthesiologist. Today you cannot even see the scar on my wrist. He slit perfectly in the wrist crease.

Wow, I wished my release in both hands in 1995, was with that device shown in this video, on the dummy hand. My surgeries were 10 days apart. Then I was in a tornado shortly after my second hand was done. The screen door of our home slammed hard on my one hand. Both hands were bandaged. I’m just glad both hands healed well, and I didn’t hurt my hand bad from the door. I was off work for 5 months. Went through physical therapy. Hands are great now. ❣️

Oh my god, I have the same sentiments. My doctor didn’t offer there are three different procedures. He keeps going on about me being too young and the scars etc but that my carpel tunnel syndrome is very severe I have to have the surgery, but then if he’s so worried about my scarring, why does he not offer me the key hole procedure. I’m too far to com see you but I’ll play this video for him and question him about it. I do feel sad about my beautiful and blemish free wrists will become ugly with scars (feel so shy and vain typing this lol) but right now I’m barely functioning and dropping things all day and can’t find peace at night so maybe I’ll get a tattoo lol

@ushiwaka19
@ushiwaka19 2 жыл бұрын
@@reverendbonez4505 It is a little hard to describe this pain. There are various types of pains in the entire arm, wrist and hand region. The thumb, index, middle fingers are always or mostly numb and there is like a burning pain which also feels like a nerve compression as well as imagine the pain you feel if you strangle any limb and block its' blood circulation. Sorry I told you it is not easy to describe it. My condition was diagnosed to be an extremely sever case. Then the joints hurt with light touches and when applying lotion or washing hands, that is mainly my thumb joint. The wrist is worst. It always hurts unless I wear the wrist support with the metal splint. The arm hurts from below the biceps to the elbow, but its a dull ache, more irritating than painful. The grip is weak. And finally there was zero to very little response in the signals sent to brain when I had my nerve conduction test. I hope I have answered your question. Sorry for such a long essay. LOL. However, I have had this over 2 years, but since last September it has become unbearable to live with so I got it checked and they recommended surgery is the only way for me :_(

I too had a nerve conduction study done years ago. They insisted I do the wrist surgery - I punted. Since then I was in an accident and the imaging showed damaged discs. Even prior to the accident I experienced a shrill sound that eliminated hearing for about a minute, I also experienced blurred vision and interruption to my sight, I could hear my neck bones grinding, numbness in my arms and into my hands, and sharp pains in my elbows, not to mention dropping things, lack of ability to grasp or write, I also had gut issues. I opted to do neck surgery which entailed removing discs and replacing those with cadaver bones, plates, and screws. I know it sounds horrific, however I had a wonder smart surgeon and I woke up feeling terrific. My previous problems and issues were gone! Everything has been good for a few years. I picked up something way to heavy and I felt it immediately in my neck so now I'm having all the same symptoms again. Hence Dr Chappell's recommendation to have your neck checked out is a smart idea. Get a second opinion is always intelligent. My so-called carpal tunnel symptoms were stemming from my long time neck issues, that effected so many other body parts.

This is a great doctor. I suffered for years. Had the carpal tunnel relief procedure on each wrist in the same year in 2020 8 most apart. I was told about all the procedure and the possible results. Some people dont get the results they expected. Happy to say both procedures were successful. I no longer have the constant numbness, tingling, and shooting pains up my arms. Had it done in 2020 while working from home. Was only off one day. It was the best decisio I ever made. I couldn't sleep,and inward unable to open screw top containers ir hold onto objects without dropping them. f you suspect you have it, please dont ignore it. Recovery is quick and the small incision just looks like all the other lines on my palm.

Thanks for this video. I wish I had you as a doctor. I'm dealing with nerve damage in both hands due to playing music which has gone on for roughly a year now. It's seriously had a negative impact on pretty much my overall quality of life and has basically halted my training with becoming a music teacher. On top of this, I cannot begin to explain what it's done to my mental health. And yet despite all this, my doctors are refusing to go ahead with treatment. All I get from them is "try some painkillers.". This video alone has explained to me what my options are far better than the doctor I went to just recently for help. Really, thanks a lot. I will have to fight very hard for treatment to get my life back on track and this video gives me some hope.

I've never been diagnosed with carpal tunnel, but I started having symptoms in high school, and a friend of mine that had the same complaints was diagnosed with it. At this point, I've made all these changes to prevent any discomfort I only notice it after spending a day without my little mouse and keyboard cushions, or my paper tablet that doesn't allow me to write with as much pressure as I use on paper. I switched from crochet to knitting, and keep a wrist wrap and a self-massage video in my favorites for when I actually forget and go a bit too hard. That said, I come from a medical family. Ignoring pain and self-diagnosis is an unintended side-effect so, for your own benefit, do as I say not as I do. If you can go in to see a doctor and make sure what you think you have is what you actually have, please do. If you can work out what's wrong with you early on, incorporating preventative measures becomes second nature and you can minimize your symptoms and not exacerbate the problem. Again, I am most definitely not the best advocate for this, since I do not have an actual diagnosis, but my point is you can keep things from escalating with preventative care as I've been doing for a decade now.

I’ve been diagnosed w carpal tunnel 24years ago and was told to have surgery then and I couldn’t afford it nor could lose time off I use to sand,install, and refinish hardwood flooring having to use heavy vibrating machinery not to mention every aspect of it is using hand and arms relentlessly. I also was a golfer played all through high school and college but my golfing days were gone long ago because the pain was debilitating even now at thanksgiving having to cut up several vegetables will have me in terrible night pain and will take half a day for numbness to be tolerable gone are the days of shaking the numbness out. I wake up in searing pain all the way up to my shoulders it can be so severe I’ll be in tears and so I’ve lost so many things I’ve enjoyed and when I try them again I pay dearly. I still have no funds and zero insurance I have the time to take off even though I see how much better the surgery recovery is now even typing this message I’m having to stop and straighten my arms to get some of the numbness to subside. Please hear me when I say when a doctor tells you that you must have surgery PLEASE do it right then because there is nothing but pain, misery, and loss to come. This was a great video it puts my mind at ease and using ultrasound instead of that painful test is amazing because that test when I had it all that time ago was no fun and agitated my symptoms at the time.

Oh man, this is heartbreaking. Yes, carpal tunnel can be detrimental to the nerve if not treated in time. Thank you for sharing through the pain!!

My symptoms were so common and /or elementary the doctor just performed the surgery. Instant relief...had the other hand done 2 years later. A no brainer, get it. It takes like 15 mins.

Go to a surgeon that specializes in Carpal Tunnel. If the doctor has a lakehouse payment coming due, you have Carpal Tunnel.

I had this surgery last year's ago in 2010 in May 9th 2010 and I was at the surgery on that day and was awake ⏰and I had local had a shots to numb it up really well and he did the surgery on it. Took it about 15mins minutes and he was done fixing it. No more pain that years ago when I had it done, but Dakota was scared and bitten me all over my arms and thighs on me to be a little bit more comfortable with him after he was fixed so he won't attacked me unless he was very mad at me for a threatening situation that is a little different from what we have been in the past few years since then.

I have arthritis at the base of my right thumb and signs of carpal tunnel on the on the same hand. I'm waking out of my sleep from numb pain in my fingers, and 5 by e more I try to shake my hand to wake up the more it hurts. Writing and doing my makeup I constantly have to stop and shake my hand of being numb. Waiting to get the EMG done this week

I had an EMG performed 5 years ago, showing some carpal tunnel and Orbital tunnel issues. For the past 5 years my pinky and half of ring finger have been numb non-stop and now below those two fingers my hand is exhibiting numbness. I've noticed the muscle between my index and thumb has atrophied considerably this past year and I've lost quite a lot of pinching strength(thumb and index). I'm seeing a doctor in 2 weeks to discuss options, possibly another EMG....but after watching your video maybe that's not the correct line of defense. Thanks for your informative video.

I had the same issue. I was diagnosed with dorsal ulnar cutaneous nerve damage. Right after I had my cortisone injection for carpal tunnel, I could feel the pain in my pinky and ring finger way more because the carpal tunnel nerve had been relieved. So speak to a doc about that and see if that may be your issue.

@Bobbie I had surgery due to a reputured ligament to my wrist. Doctor thinks I've developed CT getting my nerve test march 16th. Doctor gave me a shit of cortisone to the middle of my palm for a trigger finger..but now my ring and pinky are in pain.
