This is perfect, I picked up the laser level you recommended and it made measuring and squaring off my new closet downstairs a breeze! Everything was cut almost without needing any adjustments on the ceiling and walls. Unfortunately I couldn't use it as well in another place so I was out of line, it made me sad I couldn't fit it there but it still helped me ensure I marked the ceiling correctly! Love the laser level. Oh and of course I used your link! ☺️

I would recommend a 3 line laser level instead of this 2 line one. The 3 line will work as a plumb bob allowing you to layout on the floor and then use the level to accurately mark the ceiling. Useful if you're installing lights or trying to get a pipe straight up through a ceiling.

I completely agree: a laser leveler is a fabulous product. The problem with red is that if you want to do any outdoor work (Jeff specifically says "interior" in this video), then red is a bad choice. You cannot see it in sunshine, and you will barely see it in the shade when the sun is still up. You have to wait for dusk. The solution: get a GREEN laser. The human eye is far more sensitive to green than red, so a green line can be seen far better than a red line. Sure, it's still hard to see green in direct sun, but it CAN be seen outdoors, unlike red! I just used my green leveler today, with the sun shining bright. I "painted" a horizontal line where my deck surface is going to be, and I could see the line perfectly all day. I could not do this with my old red laser, so I sold it and am now the happy owner of a green laser. I realize Jeff makes money on this red DeWalt, which is a fine leveler, but ONLY for interior work. If you want a more versatile leveler, get a green one.

Just bought one of those dewalt levels a few weeks back for my father-in-law. After a summer of fussing over old fashioned levels, checking and rechecking after each step (and never getting the adjustments quite where we needed them each step), I figured it was time we brought a little technology into the job. Nothing like saving DAYS worth or work because you've got a red line exactly where you need it.

Just got this a few days ago. Occasionally we lose power in the heat of the summer here in AZ and I wanted something that would easily run my 8000btu garage window ac. Unpacked the unit, followed the quick start guide, gave it a yank and it started on the first pull. It was quieter that I expected it to be, very smooth running and ran my window ac without missing a beat. I'm sure it will have no difficulty with adding a fridge and maybe some lights. Well worth it.

Hey Jeff. Just an FYI about another use of using these laser levels U had to level the soil in my backyard. 100' x 100' I tried to use a water level but instead came up with a great idea that worked awesome! I tool my laser level mounted it on side of house (height doesn't matter) I took a 2x4 next to laser level and taped my cell phone to the 2x4 where the little camera was right at the laser line. The camera is way more sensitive to this bright light even though in daylight I could not see the red line. I could now take the 2x4 around my backyard and moved the 2x4 up/down until I could see the laser line very bright on my cell phone. (Even in bright sun) the difference between the bottom of the 2x4 and the ground told me how much soil I needed to add to be level! If I had to dig out soil so 2x4 would go below soil line before I could see the laser light on my phone, that would tell me how much soil I had to remove! Brilliant idea!! I found it MUCH easier than a water level! Try it out. Perhaps do a video on it

Very useful content. I've watched many of your incredible videos, and they were ALL valuable and well done! But that crack about taking the project mgr. behind the BARN was pure GOLD! ( Everybody knows what goes on behind BARNS? it ain't pretty. )

Back when you did the kitchen backsplash video, I ended up buying the green dewalt laser level that comes with the rechargeable dewalt 12v battery. Excellent investment!!! Cheers!

Got one on your recommendation what seems like years ago. Got a green 2 axis 360° Huepar on sale on Amazon. Dewalt was a little pricey. I use it all the time now. Even for hanging picture.

I have the same green 2 axis with red plumb line. I use it to level floor joists in our renovation and also tiling the floors. It is a great tool for the price and I added a small metal stand that is adjustable up and down from 1 inch to 14 inches which makes it great for floor joists.

What a coincidence I just had my electrician level my new counter plugs on Thursday using a friend's laser level. So easy before drywall

Thanks for this video. I actually saw you use a laser level in another video and it made a question come to mind that you answered in this video (was wondering if the level remained straight on a slanted surface).

Hi Jeff- great video & Love all your videos. I bought the leveling tool per your recommendation. Suggestion for another future video would be how to move a GFCI outlet. Everybody's mounting TVs, cameras, projectors, etc. Basically need to know how to retrofit any room with a GFCI, assuming a nearby GFCI already exists but is just in a suboptimal location. Keep up the great work with all these videos. love your kitchen too. Andy (San Diego, CA)

Kind of funny you made a video about this level. I just bought one of these last weekend to frame a wall and door in the basement. I will also use it to lay thin veneer brick on the wall behind my woodstove. This laser works great! Only downside is that if you use it outside, you should buy a green line laser because you lose sight of the red line.
