Very cool video, you could maybe focus on the protein processes happening in the kidney like the most important transport proteins or just how the filtering processes are driven, like what chemical changes trigger what change in function

Very well made video! In my University, we always get questions about the Juxtaglomerular cells and their relation to BP regulation. Not answering this good enough would fail you regardless of previous answers, so I feel like that concept would be very nice to cover.

I love these videos It’s really hard to find good simple yet comprehensive and complete introduction videos to anatomy so I really appreciate this I would love to see one explaining the anatomy and physiology of the hand/fingers I know it’s really complicated and complex anatomy but that’s exactly why I think you would do such a great job with this video It would be really helpful to see a video explaining movements of the different fingers wrist and which muscles and tendons are involved and such Being a drummer myself working through a injury this would be really useful knowledge in a practical sense but as a giant anatomy nerd it would just be really interesting to see as well

I would like to learn more about the microscopic structures that support the function of selectively allowing or causing some ions, molecules, and or particles to go through membranes in the different parts of the kidney. For example fenestrations were shown in a diagram. I would like to know more about them, and about structures like them in other parts of the kidney.

It’s really awesome for students that’s great help but if Unreally wanna help the kidney patients please make it very simple, so the less educated ppl or highly educated but unaware of medical sciences will understand easily , because our mind controls the body all functions of each organ , if the people continuously watch the video that how normal kidney works soon or later their mind will push the kidney for normal functioning , the process may be slow or fast according to body’s physiology but it will work, that’s how you can help the hopeless people, the damage of kidneys is always fast because the patient accepts that kidneys are not working by giving conscious commands to the brain you can reverse the way mind deals with the kidneys, I hope you got what I wanted to say. Video is an excellent effort keep it up.

I really enjoy your teaching style. Can you explain the concept of osmolaity and what is the difference between osmolaity and osmosis? As you mentioned the nephrons prevent proteins from coming out to the urine. Then what happens when a person excercies to the point where the urine is brown?

I had Kidney transplant in Nov. 2021......what cause my disease was Elevated Blood pressure and Blood Sugar my creatinine was at a eight ......i went on dialysis Jan of 2020....and it was very unpleasant. Now I’m well i feel great my creatinine is at 1.45 ......So Please cherish your KIDNEYS

Someday, I just want to be just like you. Being able to explain how the body functions very well and how medicines interact with the body with knowledge of etymology is amazing! Can I ask for advice of what do you think should come first before studying Anatomy and Physiology? I am at the predicament of learning biology and high school chemistry first before anatomy and physiology. I'm just studying on my own, before going to college, I at least want to be level headed and not struggle in class😆

I'm interested in osmoality and the loop of henle. I'm specifically wondering about Mg+2 in the kidneys and the ascending limb. I've heard kidney failure has a higher concentration of Mg+2 and I'm curious why that would be because kidney failure is said to be a result of Mg+2 deficiency/Ca posioning. Can you speak about the normal electrolyte ratios that are supposed to be maintained in the blood?

I always thought,hey! By inventing the dialysis machine sounds like we managed to imitate kidney function,but then I found out incase of a dialysis machine there is no reabsorption only filtration.

@@LourdesMarieWalker I did some reading about that,dialysis can only mimic kidney function for about 25%.you need to administer other hormones that would normally be released by the kidney,survival rates are low,3 times a week,4 weeks per session and very costly.whereas kidney transplant eliminates all problems associated with dialysis.survival rates are much better.

9:52 “big proteins, like ammonia”: Ammonia is NH3; it’s not a big protein. It’s not a protein at all. It’s a small molecule, much smaller than any protein. A slip of the tongue perhaps. On the whole, though, it’s a pretty good video so far.
