I’m a student that lived in university housing and was sexually harassed by the security guards in my building for 8 months. The security guards are contracted by the university and are considered third parties. When I reported the harassment to the school, they removed the guards. I also reported the harassment to HR of the security company and was threatened with legal action and told that the guards would be back in the same building as me before reviewing the security footage or questioning them. I am not an employee just a student, is it a waste of my time to try to sue the security company? I have talked to former employees that reported sexual harassment and had a similar experience. I made sure to write a follow up email detailing the phone conversation I had with the HR representative and told a title ix coordinator everything. HR searched me up on LinkedIn and did not respond to my email. Weeks have gone by and I have not received the findings of his investigation.

Is there ever any such thing as an extension for the eeoc deadline? If I was technically a contractor when the discrimination happened, but I win a misclassification suit, could the statute of limitations begin from when I was determined to actually be an employee? Or is it always limited to the date of discrimination? Not to mention the trauma that comes along with SA and discrimination can cause a delay in seeking help.

Hey vincent, I filed a complaint for harassment / targeting against a coworker with HR. They said they'd handle it but I never heard anything else about it. Well they were hiring a buddy of his to be our new supervisor and ever since then the harassment got worse, got written up 4 times since he got there and after refusing to sign one bc I was feeling targeted again, I was told "I'm ripping this write up up, but next time you sign it and I don't want to hear anything else about this targeting bullshit" by my general manager. I have the whole meeting recorded. Well I was terminated after refusing to sign another one bc I felt it was just specific to me. I have many witnesses to all the plethora of events tht took place, I filed a inquiry with the eeoc for discrimination and retaliation... do you think I possibly have a good chance?
