They banned "Mini trucks" in PA, probably because they thought they were a threat to the truck market. You can get a 90s Suzuki Carry truck with 4 wheel drive for under 8k, and they were even cheaper for awhile. Some even come with a damn dump truck bed from the factory. It sucks honestly

There is a video showing a cargo ship with multiple cars on top deck. Which was a very bad idea. At some point out at sea, the ocean water was pouring onto the cars. The salt water caused a big fire. All those cars burned.

Wow prices have gone up. In 2003 I deregistered my Beat, drove it to the Kanda ro-ro, paid about 65USD per m3 to ship it to Southampton, where I met it 6 weeks later with the bill of lading. Got it MOTd and registered the next day. Total cost was about £400 all in including dock handling fees/MoT/registration.

I am never complaining about $4.95 shipping costs again!!! LOL

Instead of pulling plugs why not pull the relays for the fuel pumps or battery? I would feel better doing that then knowing they might still drive it or try and hoon it around down a few cylinders.

I got one of my Porsches from Japan. It's a pretty big nightmare to get it registered in Australia and it cost a few thousand. The car is very good and as far as I know the only clubsport spec 928 in the country.

First time dealing with any auto transport early this year when I needed a Hurst Olds (1969) shipped to my shop for resto. I quickly decided to go with a broker rather than deal with contacting each shipper for cost, insurance, etc. While very nervous, it went extremely easy. From first contact to delivery was less than 2 weeks, and less than $1500 to ship from Lexington SC to me in southern mid TN, including broker fee. I don't know if my nerves could take an overseas shipment!

The odometer fraud in Japan is only a problem for cars that have been unregistered for a long time……if it is registered the mileage is recorded at every shaken (safety inspection every second year) by the government testing station, and printed on the title documents. If a car has not been registered it’s generally for a reason, and usually they are left to rust in a field somewhere, the cost of parking in the bigger cities generally prevents the storage in a sensible manner. Outdoor parking is often hundreds of dollars per month……Rule of thumb is if it wasn’t registered and maintained don’t touch it.

I partially disagree about the Odometer fraud comment after spending time there. The cars have a ton of idle time and low speed time thanks to the nuts traffic that you deal with going nearly anywhere. We would drive all day and only go a few dozen Ks.

Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... Can anyone explain why the mitsubishi delica 4x4 in some US states are having their registration revoked? what makes it non compliant for some US states? is it because some delicas have a 4cylinder turbo diesel engine and it infringes on emission regulations, because i know 4cylinder turbo diesel engines are not too common if not ever an occurrence in smaller passenger vehicles in the US. Here in Australia the Delica is a common import and very popular with backpackers, campers and enthusiasts alike.
