It lights up your stairs automatically when you enter the staircase area. The automatic stair lighting kit comes with a programmable controller and two motion sensors, one for the top and one for the bottom of the staircase, that triggers the programmed light sequence, when walking up or down the stairs.

If this has already been constructed the easiest way to do it is the outside of the staircase not the inside. The last thing you want to do is compromise the structure integrity of your stairs. You can accomplish the same thing without destruction.

I'm pretty sure he incorporated a switch to allow energy flow to stop, in other words, cut the electricity and do the mantainance. a. Also led bulbs can be disoldered and soldered. There's no need to replace the hole led string
