This needs to stop! Why do people feel the need to correct other people's pronunciation of car manufacturers, when usually they're doing it wrong themselves!

Top man, glad you brought this up. Other examples that we have suddenly been told we are saying it the wrong way are: Hyundai, Dacia and even Skoda. Really annoying, they need to get out more. Cheers.

I bloody love it! I’m always getting agro from the keyboard police over this. I speak Spanish but I don’t say to my mate that we’re going to “balenthia”, I say Valencia so as not to sound like a toss piece. If someone else wants to over pronounce it then bully for them. Fine work as always Sir. 👍

In my opinion, the best way is to just pronounce the word how your native country would! As you say, a Z in the UK doesn’t make a “TSU” sound, so no one here pronounces Mazda as “Matsuda”. The word Porsche looks like it would be pronounced Porsche if it were a UK derived word, not “Porsher”. Just because the country the brand originates from pronounces it in a certain way, doesn’t mean that you have to follow that too, especially if the same letter in your language makes completely different sounds! Another example is Dacia, the letter C doesn’t make a “Ch” sounds here, so we’re not going to naturally pronounce it as “Dacha” like people say we should are we?!

Yeah but...the new Ferrari - I'm trying to always refer to it as the 'Do Deechy Chill in dray', should I give up and just say 'The Ferrari twelve cylinder'?
