And the cimmaron, it’s not a “good looking “ car and it’s quite as nice awful choice for Cadillac but “one of the ugliest?” Not even close it’s looks like every American mid size econo box of the 80s. Wanna put a Cadillac on here let’s not forget the catera/or was it cetara? Fkn hideous. What about the Malibu maxx? Y’all remember that shit?

@Beer_Dad19755 ай бұрын
Never understood the hate the TR7/TR8 got for the way it looks - I always thought it looked a bit odd as a hard top, but in soft top form, for me, it's iconic. I guess people were disappointed because it was such a massive departure from the definitively iconic, but evolutionary rather than revolutionary TR6. Also the Ajax platform as a whole was so, so good for something designed in the late 60's - I had a Dolomite Sprint - and man, that thing handled amazingly despite the solid rear axle. The TR7 (original) variant ran the "slant 4" 2 litre single overhead cam 8 valve 4 cylinder unit - there was apparently a plan to fit the 16 valve 2 litre from the Dolomite Sprint, but instead they came out with the 215 Rover V8 "TR8" variant - the Rover V8 was pretty anemic, so the TR8 wasn't much faster than the TR7. The block from the Slant 4 engine continued on for decades after Triumph closed in various Saab 9 series cars.

The Amber apparently uses the body shell of the Lada Granta, but with such heavy alterations you wonder if it really saved them anything vs starting totally from scratch. Theyre also saying that it is a prototype not fully reflective of the final production model, but if that is the case, why show such a horrible prototype to the public and take all the ridicule instead of just waiting until the better design was ready? Something about it all doesnt add up

Hatcback, coupe and wagon. What I remember most about them was that the initial ones we got had an engine that IIRC was manufactured in Brazil. For some reason, if you didn't get it started on the first attempt, the plugs would foul, and you would never get it started. If I had to move a J2000, it was routine for me to take the keys for the J2000, a set of jumper cables, and the keys to a LeMans or something that I knew would start, so I could attempt a jump start. @@mexicanspec
