The world is still waiting for the Russian response to proposals made by Ukraine during peace talks in Turkey. Meanwhile, as Western opinions dominate the media, how do countries in the Global South view the ongoing crisis? What will be the consequences of the war and the crushing sanctions? Are their interests being taken care of as the West pressures the rest of the world to line up with them?

I admire him for his stance to help Russia against the US's sanction, but what about the US's sanctions against Venezuela, Afghanistan, Libya, Cuba, Yemen, Sudan, Nicaragua, North Korea, Syria, Iraq, Haiti, the Congo, etc? These are all countries that the US illegally invaded and sanctioned illegally for no reason whatsoever simply because of the fact that the US wants their country to be destroyed because they refused to take orders from the US or their leaders refused to step down from office and allow the US to take over their government. Why hasn't India stand up for those countries as well like it has been doing for Russia?

Does that short sighted professor realize that he is contributing to the genesis of an enmity that Ukrainian will now justly have toward India and Indians for a long time to come? He's concerned about Russians, whom India is anyway saving with its increased trade during the war and increased purchases of Russian oil, but hardly a tear for the death, suffering and destruction Ukrainians are enduring from Russian hands. Half of Ukraine has been destroyed through merciless and indiscriminate Russian bombing, the Ukrainian economy has sustained an extremely serious blow yet the fascist professor waves it off as not Russia's doing but entirely Ukraine's fault. And the moderator even smiles when he repeats the professor's snide remark "such a tragedy." Americans and the West gave enormous help for decades when India was facing famine even though India kept being pro-Soviet, but he only sees Russia's side and the need to be forever loyal to Russia, no matter what. What an inhumane, ugly stance to take. Maybe all the contracts of US and international with Indian IT workers need to be broken off and replaced entirely by even more talented young Ukrainians for Indians to become more appreciative of what the west has been trying to do for them. That would spell the decimation of the Indian middle class, dear shortsighted "professor."

Has anyone asked Eastern Europeans? This all happens in Eastern Europe, and you lot seem to talk a lot of smack while not asking any of us. I'll let you know the vast majority of East Europeans fears and hates Russia, because they've invaded and tried to genocide us for hundreds of years. We explicitly asked US military to be present in our countries, not because we like America, but because we fear Russia. We don't care about your political games between America and China and the like, for us, it's about survival. Whether our country will continue to exist, or whether it will be annexed by Russia. So understand that we enter Nato to protect ourselves. We're all small countries, threatened by the biggest country in the world. Stop listening to all these people, and listen to us for a change, we have our reasons for being against Russia. How would Indians feel about the UK taking over Gujarat? Or Chinese about the UK taking back their colonial cities in China? Not good? Well we feel the same about Russia.

True, it is so funny that US and NATO make a sweeping statement, as "rest of the world, international community" is with us and is against Russia. But the community consists of US, 27 EU/NATO, Australia and Japan, a total of 33 countries, out of 193 countries in the world. The Interviewer asks a question and lets the interviewee answer fully. In the West, be it Sky News, CNN, ABC, BBC, DW, France 24, etc. it doesn't matter, so many platforms, the people are talking over one another, including the interviewer! I just watched a 30-minuet video Sky News had with Putin's press official; I was watching a Sky News journalist tell a Russian official what's 'actually' happening rather than them asking a question and receiving an answer in return! We've completely cut off Russian media! Shouldn't we be using that rare interview as an opportunity to understand what's happening!? Not support it, but try to understand? Ask a question and then remain silent! Thank you CGTN for behaving with decorum, I wish we still had that in the West!

At 22:25 the moderator compares how the west views conflict in the west as racism and double standard, then Hannah completely ignores this fact and downplays the comparison as “inconsistency”. She identifies her Kenyan heritage but exposes herself as an apologist for the business class. It’s racism, Hannah. Although you identify as Kenyan, you have a western name, light skin, well groomed, and looks like you are safe for the business interests, while enjoying your status.

Western opinions are visibly very varied. To suggest that there is a one size fits all position on the war in Ukraine is disingenuous. Neither are Western journalists racist. It is irresponsible to keep fomenting this racist agenda against " the West". The West is a diverse mix of political cultural and social groups like any other region. The war in Ukraine,as it is described in this piece- but denied by Putins foreign policy, military etc ( you are prohibited from using the word 'war') has global repercussions not local. I commend the South's decision to stay neutral - wise view. India should not punish their citizens by paying more than they can afford for oil and gas- USA will survive - they were not supplying India's needs anyway. But please don't denigrate every "white" western citizen as " privileged, racist and war mongoring.

I appreciate the criticism of the West, but the attitude towards Russia seems bizarre. Several outbursts were made at the US for illegaly invading Iraq, but Russia is doing the exact same thing to Ukraine and the response is a timid "Let´s make peace". Where are the outbursts on Russia? I agree that peace is the answer but it all seems very biased

India is obviously not on the side of justice. Putin's invasion should be condemned , though other countries may take a pragmatic approach to Russia. However, if Russia is going on the direction of creating more and more disasters, then the world have to be united in stopping Russia, even by force if all diplomatic means have failed. Otherwise, the world situation will be worsening till everyone will suffer. Sanction can be used if it is not affecting others and creating more problems.

@@alphabogeyman7462 So comparing a wrong with another wrong makes it right? Is that your view of the world? But I think there is a big difference to fight a regime that subdues its citizens, ignores Human rights, uses torture and murder and bans all opposition and free speech, or helping a country to fight such a regime that raid its neighbors based on lies, kills civilians and commits unbelievable war crimes. If you want to compare then Afghanistan or Irak would have been the better example. But again, all wrongdoings by the US does not undo the wrong doing of the russians.
