These companies are absolutely not worth driving for anymore. I'm looking at remote jobs that pay $35-$50/hr for a full replacement on other gig apps and paid focus groups ($200 per/hr) and clinical trials that pay thousands as alternatives.

For general purpose gig-app work, a used prius is the best choice.

Great advice. Agree 100% on debt free. Max 401k/IRA . Be in position to exit rideshare if unprofitable in your area. PS loved your balanced advise on Minneapolis and Seattle in prior review. Economics major here. People don't understand supply and demand. Bump minimum wage too much and 20 drivers sitting around waiting for 2 rides. Can't flood market with new drivers, cut back on rider demand and expect things to work. We need to avoid active time laws. Uber can claim $35 an active hour yet IF drivers end up post law change spending 50% of each hour waiting on ride then the reality is really $17.50 an hour gross before expenses. Hope we avoid the active hour trap. If my app is on, I am working. Love my Tesla. Relative to Prius which i also love, Similar 5 year maintaince + repair (millions of data points tracked) and operating costs (low cost home charging). I would not recommend Telsa if owner/driver is relying too much on super charging rather than at home charging in affordable electrical energy cost state . Used prices dropped. 2 year old Prius is 25k here. Tesla model 3 used similar.
