Just a little correction: Surskit and Masquerain are obtainable in XD Gale of Darkness. You find surskit in the Oasis Poke Spot, not as a shadow pokemon

Growing up I always thought that there was a 5th trainer star in Gen 3 for beating every single trainer in the game. I played that game so much, and I honestly believed that the last trainer was behind the door that required an E-Reader to get behind... Turns out there was only ever 4. But I can say that probably 99% of the game was explored because of it hahaha

Good stuff!! All the hoops you have to jump through in order to complete the national dex in gen 3 is honestly one of the reasons it's my favorite gen. Having to get 3 generations-worth of Pokemon from scratch across all these games is such a trick, interesting experience where you really have to go out of your way sometimes for certain Pokemon. Also kudos to you for beating Dodrio Berry Picking by yourself - have never managed to beat it myself! Best of luck if you go for those stickers someday!!! I might get the final tier egg one someday while shiny hunting for one of the Pokemon that can only be obtained shiny through eggs in gen 3!

I am so glad I discovered your channel recently, this video is gonna help me with my quest to 100% leaf green with a gen 3 living dex.

I actually got 3 Stars on my FireRed version as a kid when the game was relatively new. It wasnt until June 9 of 2018 that I actually went back and got my brother and dad to help me get that 4th star playing those dumb minigames. Some day I will collect the stickers as well. I also completed the pokedex without XD or Colosseum. So, either you can get all the pokemon without them, or I traded with kids that had XD or Colosseum. I did do a lot of trading as a kid, so it is possible. EDIT: The total playtime was over 376 hours for those that are curious. EDIT 2: The Dodrio Berry Picking is exceedingly hard. The games easily get de-synced and you have to rely on the skills of 2 others in order to succeed. Between the 3 of you, you cannot miss 10 berries, otherwise you have to start over. The worst part is the heads of the dodrio dont move quickly if you miss a berry and the berries on the outsides are shared with the other players. So, if you go for a berry another player got first, then you could "stall out" and miss another berry. It takes over 5+ minutes of one run of the game in order to get enough berries on one game. It took me several days of trying to get both minigames, but the dodrio game is the worst. EDIT 3: Surskit is obtainable in Emerald. It is on bulbapedia.

3:12 I know this won't be seen by anyone, but I want to say that you can actually get the Sandshrew Line Evolution in the Wild Battles in Pokémon XD. It isn't a Shadow Pokémon,so It's understandable that you miss this. You still need yo solve the Slowbro problem, however

Would love to see this for some of the other games - particularly HGSS since it involves the Pokeathlon which I think is often forgotten. But nice job! Love these videos that show some more obscure content

I heard about the stars from a friend way back in 2007 when I was watching him play Diamond. I had no idea it was a real thing. I just new the card changed color after you beat the champion. Huh. I learned something new today.

3:13, you can get Sandshrew in XD via pokespots. The only thing you'd be missing out on is Slowpoke from Leafgreen.

3:15 i think that is the other way around, you can catch the oddish line in fire red. slowpoke and sandslash are in leafgreen

You can catch surskit in gale of darkness btw in one of that spots where wild pokemon appear sometimes if you put snacks in there you can see which one in a quick visit of the Bulbapedia.

Will you ever cover one of these challenge type videos in the later games? It honestly gives me more things to do, but Id love the chance to do them in current gen
