How fast can I prepare for the Elden Ring DLC?

In this small spontaneous guide I go over on how to quickly access the dlc with a small to do list for anyone wanting to be ready when it drops in june. I go over how to get a decent amount of lvls and also some talisman and defeating specific bosses to unlock the dlc according to Miyazaki's interview. Keep in mind please that this build is all optional and if you are still beginning the game or in the middle of it, you can use whatever weapon you like. This is just the fastest way to go about it in my opinion with some nice comfort pick ups on the way. Hope you enjoy the video and it helps you on your journey!

I killed Morgott, and completely forgot about quests until your brought it up. At least I didn't go to forbidden lands, so hopefully that does smt for me.

Same, took me 46 hours and finally got all the quests done and killed all bosses. My character is ready for the DLC

Nice guide. The edit is great! To anyone who fails to kill Magnus in all the attempts for fingers given (not that I would ever, and of course that's not the reason that I know this...), there's a somber 6 close by if you continue from his summon sign across the bridge to Mount Gelmir. It's on a chair up the ladder.

considering you go all the way to altus, if you wanted to use a normal smithing weapon (ie the greatsword, lance, uchi etc.) you can actually acquire a +20 weapon by visiting all of the mines (no need to kill the bosses) and kill both the altus fallingstar beast and the one in the sellia crystal tunnel

My DLC prep: new character, 100% the game up to mountaintop of the giants, with the following exceptions: don't kill Malenia, and don't kill (by burning the erd tree) or estrange (by joining the flame of frenzy) Melina, in case either of them have new scenes or dialog added by the dlc. The latter means stopping progress after beating fire giant but before burning the erd tree or going to farem azula. Not going to FA misses out on the last few smithing stone bearings, but if you stick to somber weapons or no more than 1 or 2 normal weapons then you should still have anough stones to max out a couple dlc weapons.

I also did this prep playthrough & used Raptor Talons with Antsper! I had such a easy time killing Mohg & Radahn was also easier after that. But Setup was 2 hrs

for me (and what im about to see is b4 seeig the whole video) but ive made 3 characters in total one is th efirst character that i did hes lvl 500 and on ng7 and the other 2 are level 200 and i also plan to do another 2 around the same level (all with different builds ofc) and ive completed every quest got every talismant every cookbook etc cause i do believe that somethings might be needed in the dlc! i could be wrong tho

I preb everything but buring the erd tree because it changes the capital and i dont do naked 3 fingers yet either because i wanna keep maleina alive instead of buring her just in case🤘🏻

i did a dlc% run on a fresh save to see what it felt like. managed to kill radahn and get to mohgwyn, with a bloodhound fang and maxed flasks… i got there at 3:30 and it took about 2 more hours to finally clear him.

When I’m not bogged by study, my plan is to beat Mohg and Radahn as low of a level as possible (and it won’t even matter because the scaling in the DLC is goofy) 😊

I’m just sad that the DLC access is so late in the game. I was really hoping it might be able to make its way into some Bingo matches. Hopefully the weapons can at least still show up somehow in the randomizer, even if the new categories aren’t available in the base game 🤞🏼

I'm thinking maybe a sort of rando race/bingo hybrid would be cool. As in the first half is a randomizer race to enter the DLC and once you enter then a DLC-specific bingo board shows up? Idk just an idea

Guys, preparation is good, just dont forget we will also get new weapons and other stuff in the dlc. So i wont be surprised if theres a new build for the dlc bosses based on what we will have. But you are not wrong, the least we gotta do is to kill both mohg and radahn.

That's called Playing the game.. This is to show how to do it if you've already played through it and what would be the easiest way with a fresh character.

miyazaki confirmed in an interview that radahn is required. we dont know anything beyond that as to why

I don't really get the Warrior Jar shard. If we like playing ER enough to buy the DLC, don't we like it enough to get the proper Shard of Alexander? I get that you're trying to minimize time spent making the character but if this is a character you want to take into the DLC, why lock yourself out of a straight up superior option?

Because this run is based on the minimum and also some people don't like doing a whole quest line just to get a better upgraded talisman. Everyone has their reasons

I feel like most people playing dlc will either have a endgame save ready or will know how play the game fast enough to build one for dlc most builds in base game are going be overshadowed by dlc items

@@captain_domoNo this is super useful. I want at least 4, probably 5 characters ready for the DLC. Which ever awesome weapon that they give you first, that’s what I’m rolling with. If I go in with my strength character, but they give you those cool reverse swords first, well then switchy-swappy over to a dex character and roll with that. Anyways, getting a character ready in 2 hours or less really helps.

A lot of casual players want to start fresh for the dlc, hence why he's doing it. For casual players it would probably take hours to get to the dlc, he's showing an easy way to get it done quick

Personally I am not fighting Mohg until DLC releases because of how Varre says "don't use the Bloodknight Oath early" and in the base game even if you wait and take the teleporter in snowfield, that doesn't change anything. I think it is possible that something relating to Mohg and/or Moghyn's Dynasty is added to before even entering the Realm of Shadow, or it effects something in the DLC content.

lol killing Alexander at the beginning to get an inferior version of his talisman is not a great idea. Killing NPCs in general locks you out of quests, something you wouldn’t wanna do right before a major expansion that could possibly expand their stories in some way. Just have someone drop it if you’re so desperate to have that tiny boost at the beginning, or better yet get the better version dropped instead.

caught some of this live (stake skip hehe) and watched your mohg% race with the gang and decided to replicate it, ngl radahn and mohg still both kicked my butt but i did manage to kill godrick before he went phase 2 so it balances out😅 love your stuff Capt 🫡
