I read before I became a trainer, it takes 16 (roughly a month) seperate workouts, to even ignite building cross sectional muscle fiber (muscle you can actually see)

massage out your traps, or get a guasha massage on your traps to loosen up your traps (or lagging muscle) Definitely focus on the CONNECTION to the muscle. Think about how to make it difficult for the muscle you are targeting. Before picking up the weights... actually flex your traps hard, not crazy MAX FLEX, but get the optimal FLEX without the weights ... also get a nice relaxed muscle. That's going to get a great connection. Now, grab the weights. Dropsets may help... like 16 reps, then 14, 12, 10, 8. Let the burn come from effort and connection.

Hey guys great topic today. Im 43 and a recovering alcoholic. By the grace of GOD i have not had a drink since December 30, 2016. Almost 6 years. I started drinking at a very young age(12-13). I spent many years suffering as an alcoholic. Because of this my body never really grew. Im 6’ tall and weigh only 143lbs. I did used to weigh 190lbs. but lost about 50 lbs the first year i was sober. Im skinny but relatively athletic. Ive been training for 5 months now about 5-6 days a week. I know that might be a bit much however it gives me something to do every morning before work and really goes well with my addictive personality. I’ve noticed some really great all around results including my sleep. My appetite isn’t very good though. Ive been drinking 2 cups of 2% milk in the morning and again at night along with Gorilla Mind protein and 5g Creatine Mono. Should i be drinking whole milk instead of 2%? And should i reconsider drinking this at night? Thanks Guys. Really enjoy your content!

I love whole milk. If muscle building def go with whole milk, organic or milk with no added chemicals or anything. Not a sponsor, no affiliation, but I went to znaturals and got their powdered whole milk I use with my protein powder, taste and works great, no stomach issues(not lactose intolerant either) like I get from whole milk at the store

What up. I’m sober 3.5 years now and haven’t looked back. It’s great. Congrats on your sobriety as well. Whole milk is great, and you can definitely drink it at night especially since you have a hard time with appetite and getting calories in. If your hunger grows and you end up getting enough calories I would try to work on not eating before bedtime as there as a lot of smaller benefits associated with not eating for around 3 hours before you sleep. Also work toward eating your calories vs drinking your calories. Like I said, that’s the long game down the road if you can get there. For now keep up with the milk 👍

Things to start in 2023: - working out - investing money (crypto, stocks, savings) - ending bad habits (snoozing, gosipping, procrastinating) - planning your days - Eating healthier & learning to cook - weekly walks (in nature, no headphones/airpods) - drinking water daily (2-3 liters) - Reading at least 5-10 pages of a (e)book - Quiting drugs/alcohol (you don't need that bs) - meditating - Giving to the less fortunates - cutting out bad friends & family - minimalism - Learning a (remote) skill (coding, music, designing, marketing) [Screenshot this, atleast try it & any questions? Ask them]

I personally don't drink cow milk, but just to back up Sal's argument about milk, look at the maasai tribe in Africa - average height is 190,5cm/6,25 feet(men), they consume alot of milk. In comparison in my country -> Denmark, the average height is 181.3cm/5.11 feet(men). So I would argue milk does the trick.

When I started out, I was 6ft4 and only 127lbs. What I found was, I thought I was eating a lot, and it turned out I was barely hitting maintenance. If you're not tracking, at least take a food diary for a week so you can self reflect.

Yeah that sounded like a high estimate to me, too. But I guess it was an estimate for a tall guy, and also the fact that even just walking can really add up when it's like 4-5 hours or more in a day.

I do intermittent fasting 16/8. I workout In the am 1st meal being at 2pm last at 10pm. My question or concern is gettn maintaining mass while burning. I love that it cuts fat, but wanna keep mass and gains. Do I just increase my protein intake or change my fasting schedule?

When you are fasting your body produces HGH naturally and this will help maintain muscle mass, you start to go into muscle burning after 35 hours fasting but only for a couple hours. Your body will not burn its muscle cause your fasting it’s a survival thing… and the muscle you do loose, your body will build it up again when you do feed…. It’s called monk fasting look up Thomas or dr berg… just try and keep your protein high or the use of why’s protein will help.
@Paul-yk7ds
@Paul-yk7ds Жыл бұрын
I'd think the most important things would be high protein intake (0.8g per pound of bodyweight or more) and sufficient strength training. And then, if you can track your calories for a bit, try to make sure you're only averaging like a 400-700 calorie deficit per day, not more unless you have a ton of extra fat to lose, in which case a bigger deficit might be ok.

If he is working out 6 days a week and playing golf on weekends his body is definitely overtrained and he needs to do a D load for 10 days and do less days a week like 5 or less. More recovery not more sets or more food. He needs to do less sets but more High Intense Sets. Why not try 3 days a week full body and do at least one set to all our failure per muscle group, and only do 3 sets total per muscle group. You would do one exercise per muscle group per full body workout with 3 sets. 2 wormup sets and one all out failure set and beyond failure with a rest pause set or a static hold on the last rep. You need to force the muscle to grow. Never do more if you are not seeing results. Do less if you are not growing and add in more recovery days.

Probably a stupid question here. I’m a 41 year old female. I eat around 2000-2100 cals/day. Lots of protein. I lifted hypertrophy style for about a year. Then, to switch things up, I did more of a strength program for about 10 weeks. Switched back to hypertrophy style and have been on it for roughly 7 weeks. I can lift a good bit more weight now than I could before I did the strength cycle. Like, I’m nearly double the weight on my squats and bench press. Since I switched back to hypertrophy, I’ve gained about 5 lbs. I was concerned this was fat weight, but I also wonder if it’s muscle weight since my eating is the same, but I’m lifting so much more weight now than before. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is it even possible it could mostly be muscle in such a short amount of time?

@hueyyang10

At most maybe 2 to 3 lbs of muscles. But just on what you explained you gave yourself a new stimulus and with a more strength focused stimulus you 100% got stronger. Better motor recruitment and your cns adapting to heavier loads can and will cause muscle growth but not always. But the main point is that you got stronger and more strength will lead to better muscle growth even at 41 yrs old.

The problem with milk is a baby cow gets taken from its mum so we can drink the milk and the cow cries out for days for its baby. The baby cow, if female becomes a dairy cow and if male is eaten as veal or shot on the farm at birth.
