*LAOS: The Laos-China Railway (LCR) is one of the first high-speed trains in Southeast Asia and connects China with Laos. Here’s a complete review of this very special Chinese high-speed train from Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang in second class.

Interesting video! The speed at which the Chinese build high-speed trains (and also highways, by the way) is simply breathtaking.

Great review! Reminds me a lot of Ethiopia's new Chinese railway that I rode last year. China has really got railway building down to a formula

Thanks! Yeah, it's pretty certain that these trains will pop up in more places around the world.

I believe they make it look easy because of the large scale. If you build one railway then electrical transformers, switches and complicated systems need to be basically hand made. If you make 100 rail lines then you can build even the most complex systems on assembly lines and standardize them.

They will take your swiss army pocket knife which is worth more than the train ticket. The workaround is to send the restricted items by a bus to your destination if it is luang prabang. But this restriction does make the train a joke the train could take and checking in the item and return it to you at your destination if they had given it any thought just like an airline. I have been on the trains in China and this was not a problem there.

Strange how some of these South Asian trains will have hot food and some just snacks. For a high speed train I was expecting a special lounge with a dedicated cafe or something but it was just a big terminal. Safe travels brother.

I think this isn't supposed to be a luxury product. Its goal is to improve connections between previously very badly connected towns and cities in Laos. Socialist transportation for the masses;)

Looks like a great idea implemented poorly. Think how much better it would be if it went from city to city instead of the stations being miles away. If they can build dozens of tunnels, they could have built the stations in better places. I always travel with scissors, screwdrivers, etc, so not allowing them on a train makes it a non-starter for me. Confiscating aerosol deodorants is a terrible idea too. Nobody wants foreigners deprived of deodorant in a tropical country!
@zozomo2911
@zozomo2911 Ай бұрын
You can use a roll-on deodorant. Once aerosol deodorant burns on a high-speed train, it may cause a serious fire. If the train makes an emergency stop in a tunnel, more people may die of suffocation.
@CaptainKremmen

@@zozomo2911 That's a ridiculous exaggeration of risk trying to justify an utterly ludicrous restriction that I've never come across on any other train in the world. How many times has this happened ever? I bet the answer is "none".

@@CaptainKremmen On December 23, 2001, a serious fire accident occurred on the Oigawa Line in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The line is operated by JR Tokai. The accident occurred on a train named "Fuji Asahi" on the Oigawa Line, which was passing through a tunnel on the Oigawa Line. The sudden fire killed 54 people and injured more than 40 people. The fire was caused by the explosion of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carried by a passenger in the train.
@CaptainKremmen

@@zozomo2911 LPG is quite different and I'll bet very much bigger. And how many disasters caused by scissors on trains?
