Keane's game is fascinating from a psychological perspective. He admitted in an interview that his main driver was fear. Fear cripples most performances, but he somehow used it to his advantage. Excellent player. Amazing career.

What the video doesn't note is that in that Semi-final against Juventus, Keane got booked in the 27th minute and knew for most of the game that he wouldn't appear in the final. It's how he reacted to that and whatever he found in himself to do so is what was so astonishing.

Not only were opponents scared of him but his own teammates knew if they didn’t put a shift in they were in for it.

That performance against juventus epitomises Roy Keane. A captain pushing his team mates to not give up and push 90 mins until they get the win. He’s everything united has lacked this past decade..

99% of commentary on Keane focuses on his tackling, his enforcer role etc. I watched him many times and people forget how good he was at moving the ball, settling the tempo down, and allowing his team mates find positions to attack. He was brilliant in possession, almost always making the right choice with the pass.

His passing was so underated, he zipped passes into forwards feet, through lines, rarely ever passed backwards, always looked to play forward. That fact sometimes get lost amidst his reputation of aggression.

Before this starts, I'm hoping he goes into how under appreciated Keano was for his technique and athletic ability. People leave that out to talk about his mental strength, ball winning and work ethic. This man had a clean first touch and passed and shot very well. It was the creative passing and vision that he lacked compared to Scholes, but the touch and pass was always good with Keano, along with having excellent stamina and balance, as well as decent pace, agility and strength. Great player. We need a player like him right now.

I'm a Liverpool fan and always will be. But when I was playing football with my club. I would watch Roy Keane especially. I would watch how he got the ball and quick passes he would get free inside the box and get really important goals. It does not matter what club Roy played for its the way he wanted to win was why i watched and tried to learn. He was the best passer of the ball in my opinion. Made the game look so bloody easy that it really is. Steven Gerrard was great but if I was asked who was the best I'd pick Roy Keane all day long. And I bet you even Steven Gerrard would say Roy wad the guy he would look at for clues to play good. Now he is a pundit and people watch and listen and even look up you tube to learn how he made a difficult game look easy. He was able to run all game pass all game and make himself tough. Roy Keane, in my opinion, is one of the finest footballers ever. His talent, skill and work ethic were beyond measure. The way he passed the ball and created opportunities for the team was special. His will and desire to win was always obvious. He never asked anything from his players that he was not prepared to do himself. A true professional. He was incredible. United have to play two players in the centre of the park to try to do the job he did on his own and even then they aren't capable. He would run games with his passing, protect the defence with his tackling, and control the whole tempo of the team. As I say, United play two players in the position he occupied, and together they can't control the temp, control the game or protect the defence. He was a monster of a footballer.

I'm an AC Milan fan but I remember how good roy keane was and how good he was is world fucking class. Probably my favourite non Milan player I miss. Some people compare him to gattuso because of his volatility but he was so so much more than that, great passer could dominate games, best captain iv ever seen even better than maldini as a captain. Its a pitty he didn't get a second chance at appearing in the champions league final and he is known throughout Europe for his qualities but maybe not as much is south America etc because his lack of world cup appearances. If he had stayed with Ireland in 2002 world cup I think Ireland could have done very well. Keane was a powerhouse and would be the biggest single reason for Man U's many league titles. The guy was relentless, fearless and dominated the field. He did not have the skill of a Zidane but he surpassed him in many other regards.
