What needs to be remembered is the biggest reason for Ochoa not signing with a top European club is him not having a European passport. He didn’t receive his European passport until after he left Belgium and went back to Mexico. Now that he has it, plenty of clubs will be wanting to sign him during the summer transfer window

@@FCMADRUGA most top teams don’t waste a foreigner spot on a GK, unless he’s a young top talent. That’s why his options were so limited. The Malaga move pretty much ruined his prime years

@@Illedout because he’s not a FA, he re-signed with Salernitana. So if he were to leave to another club, they would have to pay Salernitana a fee. If he was a FA plenty of clubs would have wanted him since he would be free.

Ochoa was a future talent. He was destined to be as big as casillas and Buffon. I was excited when I was young hoping for Ochoa to play for a big club. It never happened. We all have to admit that his best years are gone and it was unfair for Ochoa to never had played for a big club. A crime almost. McGuire bein a flop yet in a big club and Ochoa having high hopes to one day play for a big club :(

Tottenham hotspur has actually listed Ochoa as a potential replacement to Loris. I hope it ends up happening because for a Mexican to end up in the premier league is so rare. The only one active as far as I know is Raul Jimenez 😞

I live in Italy and the people love him here, and I'm not just talking of his club town. I live in Firenze and when I wear a Mexico jersey, Italians will stop me and say that Ochoa is such a great gk

Seems very likely that Ochoa will be the starting goalkeeper in the 2026 World Cup for the following reasons: 1) He's the only Mexican goalie playing in Europe right now 2) Even at his age he's still taking his abilities to new levels, becoming Salernitana's best player of the season while only playing half a season is insane 3) Mexico doesn't have any young goalkeeper who could take Ochoa's starting position. The closest is Carlos Acevedo, who's really good, but nowhere near Ochoa

In an interview he mentioned how it was when the goalie from his team got a red card , when the coach asked who wanted to be goalie he’s the only one that raised his hand . He went on to block the PK and the rest is history .

Ocha should have been a starter with Mexico national team since 2006 world cup. He was that good since then. Shame that he started till 2014. It also sucks that all those European teams didnt value his gollie skills.

I’ve been a fan since childhood when he first played at Club América 🇲🇽 if he had played at world class clubs he would’ve had a lot more success but it seems near relegation clubs is his motivation or maybe he wants to pull a Maradona at Napoli or Messi at Miami or maybe just bad agent moves ⚽️
