It wasn't David Moyes, but Louis van Gaal who forced Chicharito out of Manchester United by persistently benching him. Chicharito left Man U in 2015 and van Gaal was Man U's manager from 2014 through 2016. Louis van Gaal is well known for discriminating against Latin American soccer players. He enforced a similar discrimination against Argentinian Ángel Di Maria in the very same team, Man U.

I don’t believe Van Gaal discriminated him at all. I may be mistaken but van Gaal was pissed with Chicharito because he missed a penalty in an Europa/Champions league match when he wasn’t the designated shooter. Also, I would dare to say Moyes or even Manchester United were the ones who disciminated him. I remember Welbeck getting way more time of play, even starting matches, despite him not being as important in goals (scoring and assisting). Obviously they would preffer to play with a player of their country despite him being worse (english tend to overrate their players)

His career was derailed by the injury followed by bad breaks with managers. Moyes didnt want him. Louis Van Gaal wanted to rebuild. I think leverkusen also had a manager change that wanted his own players. Then the west ham move fucked him over as the team brought back moyes who still didnt want him. This was all during his prime.

When Chicharito said "Mexico can be World Cup Champion" I believed him because HE believed in himself. He's one of my favorite players because of his almost undying optimism. While not a great striker, the streets will never forget his United run. Not only that, but he tried and tried until he scored. Shame that most Mexicans don't rate him.

I still remember his last season with Chivas, and man, tha's when I became his fan. What you failed to mention was that the friendly between Chivas and Manchester United was also the ignaugural game for the new Chivas Stadium. I don't care if he's "old" by football standards, we need him back in El Tri. When I saw that Real Madrid had signed him I rushed to the website to buy the jersey (the one that had pink in it) and my God, it was freaking sold out. This dude is certainly a Mexican legend, at least in my eyes.

i'll never forget the day he was presented at Man U, that picture of him holding the jersey is unforgettable, at that time no one had any idea this was going to happen, its incredible how they managed to keep it a secret i was so proud the scorer of my team 'made it' not only to the Premier but to Manchester..... and only to follow him score every other game was absolutely fantastic

He is my idol, I started watching football/soccer late when i was around 12/13 years old, and I remember playing fifa 19 and making a full Mexico team. And I bought chichas totw card, and remember having so much fun with that card that I started watching his games. And when he joined L.A galaxy(im from the us) I started watching more of his games. And tbh his first season in L.A was pretty bad he was out of fitness and looked more frustrated than happy, but I remember in the off season watching him in his insta work out and try his hardest to become fit and be the best version of himself. When he came back his first game of the next season he scored against miami. And I remember being so happy, anyhow ive never been the fastest player or the best dribbler but I formed the way i play off chicha. Bettering my positioning and being in the “right place right time” thats why he is my idol.

i remember a match Leverkusen vs Barcelona, where if they scored they went to the next stage of the champions league, but bellarabi did not pass to him and they ended up in europa league or eliminated i believe, he was wide open at like min 85 or so, many times some of his teammates did not pass to him even tho he was open, probably a reason he left Leverkusen

I remember being a young boy at the 2010 world cup I didn’t really watch football back then, but that day we were in school and they stopped class because el tri was playing and the whole school watched as Mexico won (I don’t remember who they were playing against) but I remember thinking wow this Chicharito guy is good and ever since then I followed him wherever he went, my favorite part of his career was when he was in RMA as that’s my favorite club.

I am pretty sure lots of people already consider him as a united legend. Him coming from the bench and scored time and time again. Most of his goal is crucial for the team to get a draw or win the game even though some of it is ugly goal if you know what i mean😅.

I remember being so excited to see him play for Madrid. Also being very disappointed that they didn’t keep him. There were rumors he was going to be bought since he did so well. I would then go into FIFA and play the season making him the main scorer taking Benzema’s spot. Won every trophy then went to the World Cup and won it all 🥲

Plan B striker. Someone you bring off the bench when you need a goal. Wasn’t a amazing footballer but had great off the ball movement, always trying to get into goal scoring positions. Scored a lot of tap ins
