The secret is train 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours at night from Monday to Friday from the age of 4 years old. For everyone else you need a systematic approach based on science while training with intensity. Also, eat your veggies.

When I was in gymnastics in highschool I'd say the most important aspect of training was the consistency above all else. I was doing planche workouts about 4 times per week usually by myself at home, and that really helped to increase the progress. The more you practice the move (within moderation) the better at it you become.

Ahh there was a section Brandon Wynn talked about this, that’s it’s less about focusing on hypertrophy (although it helps) but repeating moves and skills over and over and over again, great point
@mindcreator7663

Doesn't this effects your training because of overtraining? I mean that 4 times a week training planche would maybe be a problem
@TheJackedVegan
@TheJackedVegan 2 жыл бұрын
@@mindcreator7663 depending on the intensity of the workouts this can be manageable, especially for someone experienced with planche. Extremely intense planche workouts 4 times a week every week would be hard to maintain though so as long as intensity and volume are managed you’ll make progress if the body can recover and adapt

In simple terms - If you want a Planche or a crucifix - you need to do a weighted dip with your bodyweight, military press your bodyweight and zanetti press 80% of your bodyweight (40% each hand) - that's it. Don't do progressions - do this. Weights DO carry over.
@wallesdrop3026
@wallesdrop3026 Жыл бұрын
how do you know?
@sylenx02
@sylenx02 Жыл бұрын
Because strength is strength. If you weigh 100KG and you can do a weighted dip with 150% of your Bodyweight (150kg), and military press 120% of your Bodyweight (120KG), you will be able to planche. Your muscles will be more than cable of lifting your body. When I could dip 70KG @75KG Bodyweight, I could hold a crucifix for 2-3 seconds without even training it. I can’t do it now because I’m 80 Kilos in weight. Weights are another tool to gain strength. You don’t have to train calisthenics to get calisthenics moves.
@wallesdrop3026
@wallesdrop3026 Жыл бұрын
@@sylenx02 damn. 150% bodyweight is a lot. but why were you saying 150% but could hold a iron cross with not even 100% bodyweight dip? Im still a believer in speficity because I can do 100%bodyweight millitary press for two reps but not even 1 hspu (balance is not the problem) while other athletes who can do many hspu can only ohp 80% of their bodyweight.
@wallesdrop3026
@wallesdrop3026 Жыл бұрын
is a good dip even a prerequirement for planche? because the dip targets different muscles. a dip targets front delts chest and tricep while the planchers need strenght mainly in front delt and bizep
@stephen0277
@stephen0277 2 жыл бұрын
I agree with everything especially the muscle gain , I'm training the planche for a while year and not progressing because im too skinny , ni muscle , underweight teen , so ill start doing weighted cali for hypertrophy and then strenght , and ill have more power for skills like front lever and planche, and hefesto
@TheJackedVegan
@TheJackedVegan 2 жыл бұрын
Nice to see you in the comments again bro and yeaa it seems if we wanna boost strength even faster working in hypertrophy either in part of our sessions, having specific days for it or specific training blocks of the year will help once we go back to skill training and focus on strength

bro. gymnasts nr 1 method: they are at max 5'3, most are around 5 foot and weigh below 135 lbs. That makes a difference. Sorry to break it to everybody, not saying a 190cm (6'2) guy will never be able to learn a planche (as a matter of fact dominik sky is pretty big and does it) BUT the reason why gymnasts excell and learn fast ist their physiques. The taller you are, the farther your center of gravity is from the hinge of the sholder. you need to lean forward more, and exert higher torque. in adition a taller body makes you proportionally heavier for the same muscle cross section. since you need more strength to pull the trick off though, you will need larger muscle circumference which ads even more weight.
@PirateSloth
@PirateSloth 7 ай бұрын
The real true statement is that Gymnasts do not learn the planche fast. Most of them train their body and strength AND endurance elements since their childhood and therefore they are ready to progress planche much faster when they are teens than someone who has not yet done any body training at all.
