The Igbos are really the only people who have a natural disposition to a multiethnic Nigeria, Imagine a northern General picking an Easterner as ADC

Don't read too much ethnicity into this. Things were different those days - Tafawa Balewa's ADC was Ibo, & Muritala Mohammed's ADC was Yoruba (Akintunde Akinseyinwa), & Col. Ibrahim Taiwo's ADC was from Zuru now in Kebbi state.

Sir Balewa had 2 ADCs (one Igbo and another from Chad or so). Murtala Muhammad had a Yoruba ADC. JTU Aguiyi Ironsi specifically chose a Hausa-Fulani ADC (this Col Bello) Etc
