Dragons Dogma 2 Has finally released and taken the internet by storm. By storm I of course mean it has destroyed all rational discourse over video games and DLC micro transactions. My goal today is simple! I must discover if Dragons Dogma 2 Is A Perfectly balanced game with no bugs, glitches and exploits. Or if perhaps the developers left in overpowered abilities, broken features and infinite gold!
What you have seen here today is part of a fantastic perfectly balanced series on youtube where I go from game to game and break them with wacky exploits to gain things like unlimited gold. If you enjoyed this then be sure to check out more. The style is similar to RT game and callmekevin in parts. A large influence on this series has come from Valefisk and The Killian Experience.

Fun fact; when you take lethal damage you can eat a healing item in the split second before the death screen pops up, allowing you to simply stand back up without using a wakestone.

It’s nowhere near as easy as you’re making it sound. You need to spam it as soon as your health decreases. Not before the game over screen. Edit: it’s literally not possible to heal before the game over screen, you need to heal before the damage has registered right at the instant your health decreases.

Yeah it's a little bit of a timing thing. When I first did it, i could get the heal, but sometimes it wouldn't work.

Be mindful that this doesn't work against lethal fall damage.

I think it works until you touch ground (eg. fall on it), you can use heals from the menu.

@@jashinsamael literally doesn't matter, best gear is in end game anyways. And don't forget you can cart back and forth between the places he mentioned in the video. You get showered with gold and ferrystones in the game. When you're at the point of the game when you have 200k. You are going to want to buy every ferrystone you see.

Yeah it isnt an exploit, it is intentional game design. NPCs will even tell you different items sell for different amounts in different locations based on the needs of the people in the area.

Because it is an intended mechanic. Batahli materials are also worth a ton in vernsworth. You can just get into a cave, mine it all and sell it. Money shouldn't be a big problem in the game anyways w

Normally I would agree but in the case of this game he is being really underwhelming. Pretty sure anyone who plays this game and has access the internet knows about the Thief OP combo and other OP tactics and not sure this is the best way to make money in this game. There are places where you can farm expensive minerals, rent pawns with 10k gold requests, different places buy different things for different amount of money, not just apples and grapes.

He just takes all the info from discords and reddit/gamefaqs and then makes videos acting like he found it. You can cross ref every one of his videos with information days and weeks old on forums or in the relevant discords lol. This video is pointless as you can just go magick archer and use the master skill from it to one shot EVERY enemy in the game. So he didn't do his research well this time lol.

If you dismis the pawns you'll get around 20 percent more xp, so not only they won't steal your kill you'll get an additional xp boost 😊

Another OP Way to Farm experience: Use Warfarer vocation Equip a Magical Bow, the Medusa Bow and the Ricochet Skill from the Magic Archer Go into a Cave, cast the Ricochet skill and switch direct to the Medusa bow. The Ricochet will probably kill everything in the cave and you will get the XP bonus from the bow. A good spot for example are the Digger's Rune south of Bakbattahl. A lot of Goblins and a Minotaur Boss.

magic spearhands mirror shield is basically formless feint for all your party members at the same time

Except it’s infinitely worse in that it the best ability takes the whole stamina bar to use (the maister ability) and the shields only last a little bit meaning if you’re clinging onto something or in an animation and it wears off you get nuked

Yeah, it's broken. Combine it with paralyze from your bolts and you can just stay next to your sorcerer pawn and spam it while he is casting meteroites or flare that will one shot alost every boss.

Can confirm, the shield is broken as hell. It consumes such a low amount of stamina that it can effectively stay up forever, and it allows your pawns to kill everything without being interrupted. Its so strong I had to stop using it because it was making the game trivial.

Even better way of making money is to go to vernworth and the pawn allocation stone, do an advanced search for lvl1 pawns and then look for one that have a paw n quest for 1 arrow for 12 onyx do that until you have 99 and put them in storage, do the same but then give them to your pawn and repeat. You should have a 3 stacks of 99 onyx, each stone sells for 2800gold in vernworth.

@@Fabiaxz I've been doing it for the last few days and only once or twice have I had an arrow quest that didn't have onyx. But they have been for ring's of endeavour and also for 12 jasper. If you see an arrow symbol above the pawns head speak to them and it should show what their quests are for.

Try Warfarer (Mystic + Magik Archer + Sorcerer) Mystic gives you melee, team invulnerability (skill 1), and downed boss crit attack, and a ranged stun/teleport/auto-crit. Sorcerer gives you Float, Stamina Regen, and "the nuke skill" Augural Flare (Skill 2) that pairs with the other two classes here. Magik Archer gives you all the ranged damage you could ever need with Sagittate Downpour (skill 3) or regular attack for the "I don't want them to die too fast." You can now handle any situation. There are other combos that also make you toddlike in entirely different ways. By design I expect. May Todd Be With You.

It was a little choppy right before he took that seat to wait and pass time, I imagine it's the game's code breaking down. Either that, or the game isn't fully optimized. I mean, Spiff has to record and also play at the same time, that's...a lot of computer power, which I don't doubt he has, but there's just a limit to some games. Maybe it's lagging because of all the items? I haven't played the game yet, so I'm not sure. First time I've seen a thief actually be a tank and a dps--well, outside of Elder Scrolls Online. That game I stopped enjoying, because you just keep leveling until like 1600 or so, which makes most dungeons broken AF, with even a pathetic thief.

I had some xp with Motion Capture and love DD2's seriously fluid, accurate animations and movement and fight choreography - it finally did the cinematic style of the narrative justice. Kudos to the devs. Ps. You almost saw me as Leon in these new Resident Evil games :)

I’m pretty sure the fruit selling for more is an intended mechanic. If you take any fruit from one region to another one further away, it’ll sell for more. So if you want to maximize profits, when you sell your apples and grapes in Bakbathal, buy some figs and quince and take it back to Melve to sell there. Plus, you gotta factor in that every teleport effectively costs you 10,000g; so 20k round trip. That really eats into your profits, and because of that I don’t really foresee them patching this “exploit.”

But they’re absolutely going to nerf Formless Faint. That ability is absolutely broken in its current state. Really, it’s broken on a fundamental level. My guess would be they’re either going to add a cooldown or duration limit, drastically increase the stamina drain when active, or make it so it only has a CHANCE of avoiding attacks, or possibly even all of the above. Either way, Formless Faint is screwed. 😅

The thing with Formless Feint is that if you don't realize that Blades of Pyre is a mock-up Maister Skill and that you were being played for a fool by the villagers, you would never get Formless Feint. Dragon's Dogma is very much a game you want to break. If any update/expansion to DD2 is made similarly to DD1's Dark Arisen, you'll want to be as broken as possible. Bitterblack Isle philosophy was very much "your bullshit vs their bullshit". it is legit made almost like a Spiff Certified Exploit Sandbox and besides potential tweaks, I don't think we'll see major nerfs at all because Itsuno is a madman and would rather the player have their own fun.

The most broken combo though is: - Unlock Sorcerer, Magick Archer and Warfarer - Play as Warfarer - Learn Sorcerer's Augural Flare - Learn Magick Archer's Sagittate Avalanche - Cast Augural Flare - Spam normal shots and Sagittate Avalanche - Melt bosses in seconds And if you want kill the Medusa very fast to get her Preserved Head and easy EXP, you also need Warfarer and Magick Archer: - Learn Magick Archer's Soporific Bolt - Use Soporific Bolt on the Medusa (it might take between 2 to 4 shots) - Once she falls asleep, swap to any weapon that deals slash damage - Attack her head, which will instantly decapitate her

Medusa used an archer with soporific arrow, put her to sleep and the your theif or fighter should behead her with one hit, getting the preserved medusa head.

I’ll do you one better. Warfarer. Use MA sleep arrow (might need multiple shots). Then use one fully charged and timely released Indomitable Lash at her neck. It’s how I got my first preserved head

I mean, get the thief stone, sneak from Markarth to the other end of the map, and you'll get to level 70 sneak or so, especially with the fur boots you can usually find in Solitude. Make a round trip, and you'll be at like 90. I think we all did that when finding out Stealth archery had a 15x multiplier. Todd: "It just works"

Anyone else miss when spiff actually BROKE and GLITCHED games? This is admittedly kinda cool but honestly low tier. Its basically a showcase of game knowledge more than anything. The only thing in this video that could possibly be not intended gameplay is the blades of the pyre not hurting if you have formless feint active. The game outright tells you that you can get more money selling things in other regions and the "exp exploit" is basically just more efficient grinding techniques.

Blades of the pyre is supposed to be used alongside formless faint,theres a reason the thieves give you those 2 skills,one of them even says that blades of the pyre are missing something,that "something" is formless faint.

Blades of the pyre are an incomplete ability that are not meant to be used by themselves. In fact, the false arisen got his scar from misusing the ability. Misuse meaning not combining it with formless feint.

Great video as always, Spiff! :) The Magic Archer Martyr's Arrow can 1 shot (nearly) any enemy or boss in the game, including the final boss. Only exception are the bosses that have to be beaten in stages. (Being as vague as possible to avoid spoilers here). You should definitely have a play around with that one and see what fun you can get up to! :D

Mr. Spiffing Brit, I am pleased to inform you that for the low low price of 1 skill (and some loss in stats) slot you can in fact combine your glorious Damage per second with your excellent exp gains by unlocking the warfarer class. It's master skill (unlocked upon class gain) allows you to swap between weapons and equip any armor set. The only drawback is you effectively only have 3 skill slots with every skill you know to choose from and that in order to use said skills you must have the corresponding class weapon equipped. theres a ring that makes it so you cant catch fire: combined with warfarer stam reduction augment you can just make constant explosions at no danger to yourself, without the stam drain from formless, and combined with Mystic Spearknight if you want a skill to also make you and your pawns invincible if you need it instead of formless (makes the game way way too easy but some of the bosses in unmoored are strong af if you don't use the invincibility)

Firstly, that Todd Howard looks magnificent! 👌 As a semi veteran of Dragon's Dogma, I can say that we most likely don't need to worry about nerfs - especially the Thief Maister skills, because honestly, they are not even the most broken stuff in the game 😅. The Dragon's Dogma series is a beautiful little gem that way ❤. Also, I did not know that the fruits sold for more in Battahl. That is nice to know.

Spiff, don't forget to use allcure magic archer build where you can charge up your deadly super ability that one shots based off of hp consumed (it's %) then pop a fullcure recover your hp loss gauge, then do it again, if you mess up just wakestone and repeat till everything in the game dies (this can 1 cast most bosses sub 700 magic attack stat going over this lets you 1 cast even the strongest things in the game besides invulnerability state ones) Also Allheals Elixirs can be forged and the forgeries turn into the normal ones as of current!

I've been playing this game for a little bit. I turned it into "border crossing simulator." I start in Melve, load my pawns and myself up with apples and grapes, and walk to Bakbattahl. By the time I get there the food is ready to sell. After selling it I dismiss the pawns to their "new life." Once I figure out how to reliably get dragonsplague, the game will evolve into plague Inc. ^-^ love your content sir!

The thief also has an early insta-kill. If you use the smoke bomb, the small enemies inside become assassination targets and you can one hit all of them with the heavy regular attack. Smoke bomb also makes it easier to use the plunder ability.

You can do the fruit selling in both directions. If you pick up the local fruit (figs and quinces) you can sell them back in Vermund for the same markup as the apples in grapes in Battahl. Gets you more profit per Ferrystone round trip.

You can double up on the money-making scheme, too. Battahl has figs and quince(quinces?) that sell for extra up in Vermund, so you can pick those up while in Bakbattahl, ripen them, then sell them while you're restocking your apple and grape stock while back in Vermund. No wasted trips!

Want to break the game further? 1. Get lots of gold. 2. Get an Allheal Elixir (there's one in vernworth vault I believe) 3. Get to Checkpoint Rest town and make lots of Allheal Elixir forgeries (Ibrahim makes real ones) 4. Level up Magick Archer Class until you can learn Matyrs Bolt 5. Use Matyrs bolt on any boss (including final dragon boss) from full health, using as much health as possible and watch the fireworks. 6. Heal to max health again with allheals (or just camp / inns if you want). You don't care about being hit if there's nothing alive to hit you.

formless faint and blades of the pyre is how my friend finished the game 2 days after release and for some reason rogue gets it all for free handed to them and become invulnerable but sorcerer gets long casting spells that do a lot of damage but you have to go on 2 separate long quests that would be almost impossible to work out without a guide to the quests. Perfect Balance

Reminds me of the Vlad Taltos book series where teleportation magic is starting to become common in a fantasy setting. The protagonist uses it for adventures, but the big impact it's making on the setting is economical.

if you run a logistician they'll put everything like "dried spud" in the player characters inventory, then you simple hold the left bumper (idk what it is on keyboard) to bring up that small menu to light your lantern and instead of pressing right on the d-pad you can just press down, not having to fuff about in the inventory, also with medusa, if you keep going south to the volcano, get the magick archer vocation and the warfarer vocation, learn the sleep arrow, put medusa to sleep and literally hit her TWICE in the head for an instant kill and her "preserved" head which can 1 shot anything in the game

The formless feint, helm splitter, and having a mage/sorcerer to cast a magic buff on your weapon is nasty damage combo too, its just a heavy stamina use kind of play style. I was killing enemies way outside my level even without having formless feint yet, but I knew what I was doing from playing a lot Strider in the first game and going for weak spots like the head and using elemental weakness to my advantage, like the griffins being weak to fire and stops them from flying or flying away.

2 more things to add to this build that I happened to do: Pick up Voracity from Magic archer to restore stamina from kills, keeps you dodging and exploding longer Teach a pawn or get one with Celestial Paean: Unlimited stamina. Spam explosions to your hearts content. Add this with haste and youre having a great time.

So, just some tips you might like to know. There's a faster way of both making cash and getting to bakbatthal. Cash exploit is through pawn quests. Specifically they ones that need either exploding, tarring, or any of those other arrow types. You can trade 1 arrow with 12 onyx (2.4 k gold each). Could easily get a few hundred onyx in 30 minutes, just keep cycling pawns at the rift stone. Getting into bakbattahl, you can hop into a carriage at checkpoint town to pass the gate, once you do, hop out and reveal that you've illegally crossed the border and let yourself get arrested.
