I just came across this video and enjoyed it so much I subscribed. I love your firewood sales display. I am a backyard firewood hobbyist in Maryland. I burn a lot and sell a few truckloads on the side. Friends and neighbors give me their trees when they have them taken down but just don’t have the room for a larger operation. I live in the South, South-Central Pennsylvania - LOL - Last week overnight temps were at 65F, and humidity was 90% over night. Daytime temps got up to 78F and humidity would only drop to 68% - which is hot for me - I remember being in Biloxi, MS on Christmas day 198 and running around base in shorts and t-shirt - have a great day.

I'm just glad to see someone willing to put in the hard work for this needed service. I'm waiting on 3 cords, because the delivery guy's two new splitters broke, and he is waiting on parts. Doesn't want to use his old splitter because it's 'too slow' I offered to come run it for him, but he refused. I figured slow is better than none at all. Been waiting 3 weeks now.

Tonight will be the first time we fire up the fireplace... It's been unusually warm for October. That might be more money in bundles, but also more time-consuming too! Thanks!

It looks like you have a nice set-up, nice storage sheds, room to expand, nice splitter and a nice side by side, but I have to ask...Why on earth don't you have a window guard on your pickup? I've been cutting, splitting, hauling and burning wood all of my life, and you will toss a log thru that back window sooner or later. One jag of wood delivered would buy you one, or get some square tube and expanded metal and make one. It will happen at the worst time too...ha ha.. alright man, thanks again, stay safe.

It sounds like the roadside stand is doing good. It looks like the bundle bin is bigger. Can you turn it into another $20 bin, and still have a very small section for bundles. You may even want to consider doing away with the bundles since they are not selling. I'd rather have someone buy $20 of wood instead of a $5 bundle even though it is not as profitable for the larger amount.

this is the time of year I like cutting and splitting wood. I sweat to much in the spring and summer, lol

It doesn't seem like you are sweating the lack of bundle sales - I think what might be happening is the customer base is changing with the seasons. People need good wood for their stills to cook the mash. a few sticks in a bundle just wont get that job done. It has finally cooled down here at home and the humidity finally dropped below 40% today - last week it was 80% or higher - have a great day - cheers

Great video, if I may make a suggestion , you might consider editing out a bit more of repetitive content , for example , when your loading or unloading truck just show where u start loading then edit out the middle content & show near the end where you finish loading , hope this idea helps , Thankyou for sharing & God Bless

Have you tried adding kindling to the bundles? That's usually just scrap, but a hassle to make.

Just started after retirement. I went from 230 to 360$ as inventory is expensive for a seasoned product. Your sheds would tax me out of any profit in NY. 100 a face for those who take it fresh. 1$ after 15 miles. Have run out. Will have to try your 20$ bins thank you. Your wood looks what is sold as premium here for over 400$ in Albany.

It seems the whole purpose of the $5/each bundle slot is to promote purchases of the $20 sections! :) I suspect it really increases the perceived value of the $20 slots...

What’s the dimensions of the $20 stack? I assume you are cutting the wood 16” long - trying to determine how many cubic feet you are selling for $20. Great video!

We do firewood deliveries in western New York. Many large amounts up to 6.5 face cords at a time. That’s half our business. The other half is bundles. We have 7 different stations for bundles only. We have one that’s superior to the others like that one usually does as much as the others combined. There’s no rhyme or reason either when it comes to the bundles. We just bought a machine though for wrapping once the pandemic started.

How much ti you get for a rick down there? I assume a rick is 1/3 of a full cord!

I sell very few $20 racks, sell a ton of $40 racks, plus a few $80 racks. Haven't started bundles yet because of trying to keep up with the offerings I have now. Taking time off to visit sick and dying family so my roadside stand is empty. I'd rather be with family that chase a dollar.

I used to work for a friend's father's firewood business. We moved about 1,000 face cords a year. Most of the wood was bought already split. We stacked it to dry. He had tractors with front end loaders and dump flatbeds. We avoided stacking wood at customers. This was back in the late 70' s and early 80's a face cord delivered sold for $45.00

Firewood business is finicky. You may end up selling more bundles at some point. You never know what people want or why. We're in western NC and this change in weather sure is nice. The power company is going to think we went off grid.

I went to selling bundles only too many people selling firewood for $50 per face cord which at that price it isn’t worth my time.

Wow......$158 for a 1/3 of a cord would inspire me to get in the firewood business too. That might fetch 80 bucks here.

$20 for that much wood is a great deal.

People likely see the larger amount of wood in the 20 "stacks" and feel like they're getting a better deal.

I ask because I only just learned that a bundle had a quasi specific definition I had always thought it just meant “a bunch” but I have just learned that it means roughly five pieces etc. so now I have three units of firewood I know of: cord, face cord and bundle so I am left wondering if the $20 refers to some other term I am not familiar with 🙄🤦‍♂️

I have a stand in front of my house. It sells good enough. I do bundles for only 1 drive through now. Not worth it.

You got $160 for one truck load of firewood? I sell a level pickup truckload for $70. I stacked the first row next to the cab, the rest of the load is just tossed in the truck for a level load. I'm having a hard time keeping up with the orders. I don't advertise its word-of-mouth from my customers. Sounds like I need to raise my prices! Everybody puts too much science in the drying firewood, if I can bang two pieces of wood together it sounds like bowling pins it's dry and ready to go. You do not need no wood moisture meter that's a wasted expense. The idea is how much money I can put in my pocket. And I've never had a customer complain, what gets me is I take great care to keep my wood in my Barnes so that it stays dry for my customers. Then they stack it outside and gets rained on and snow piles up on it go figure. I have a 35 ton log splitter that's the biggest one I could find. And I love it! Kind of a no brainer, 20 bucks for 5 times the wood. Why not make those 30 bucks a stack, we pay that for the same size where we go camping and there's several stands with those and they're all sold out all the time and its garbage, wet wood.
