You have a very accurate eye for detail and that is a great example of doing repetitive work. Thank you for sharing.

You have a very keen eye for accuracy, not many people have this skill. I have a good eye myself so I can appreciate this-it is a great help in mass production because you are not picking up and putting down any measuring devices. Well done my friend-I enjoy your excellent presentations. Greetings from Tasmania Australia 👍😁🇦🇺🦘

That's really impressive! I'd like to have your tool control and accuracy 🥲 Today I made a bottle opener and it took waaay too long 🥹 One thing I'd really be interested in: a side view where you can see at which hight you have positioned the tool rest and at which hight/angle you're cutting. I guess that's kind of a struggle to set up though, so I'd understand if you weren't going to do it 😅 Greetings 🤗

Thank you for watching, its all about practice, I made a lot of these type handles , so that kind of work sharpen your skills.... That is good idea for the video... Will try to incorporate that angle as well....

Good idea from Dave above, but of course the height of the tool rest depends on the size of the skew, how it is sharpened, diameter of the work, etc. But indeed, seeing a wider angle is interesting. I noticed you were fast in changing the tool and since I am planning my workshop atm I was curious about how you organize the tools you keep at hand and switch repeatedly. My wall mount is okay for storage but requires a bit force to put the chisels in and I put them on the bed, which is a nuisance as I need to move the tailstock and the turning tools from Record are huge and I often drop one of them, which can cause safety issues if trying to reach for a tool on the floor and tools need to be sharpened more often to fix any damage... 😂 A sneak peak on what works for others would be nice. I appreciated the close-up in this one how you create the result in a very streamlined way. I have been trying to come up with the best workflow to create small batches without jigs (I want the hand made aspect to be there, as factory made bulk is available and you cannot compete with that), and that is a lot to think. Ideal would be that I only need to turn the piece once like in bowl turning. You really need to figure out a lot of things and what order to make them. My product is more complex that this but found it useful to see this... coincidence you posted it just when I was focusing on this. Thank you! Please tell us about the narrow chisel you used for parting/removing material where the skew was too big, it was not a typical parting tool. It looks something I would need. I use birch and a basic parting tool burns that really fast, not efficient enough. Works great with slightly moist wood, but not efficient on fully dry birch. Would like to know how you attach the handle to the rest of the product. Also what tasks you do when you separate the two pieces and how do you minimize that effort. Nice demos, keep going, namaste ❤

@@MelkeinMaalla thank you very much for watching and support what I do.... For this kind of hand made batches, practice is the key, the more stuff you make the same or similar by eye the better you'll get..... I'll do shop tour video expaining everything regards lathe and my setup..... But soon I'll do slithly changes around the work area so after that I'll do video... In the video I'll try to focus as well on tool storage and where to keep them when using them..... That video will be soon so stay tuned for that 🤗 I'll screenshot your comment and try to answer it in video... Once again thank you for watching 🤗

Hi Tom! That worked pretty quick! Still you also need time to prepare the blanks, that is finding enough stock of the right diameter and cutting everything to length. In my shop I always have problems to find a suitable piece of wood for the project I have in mind. Does that never happen to you? 😎

Indeed , prep the blanks takes time, but if I do bigger batches like this then I buy 50mm thick boards, for this handles I get 2 out of thikness and I cut all the blanks in 20 min.... Although I know what I have in terms of scraps in the shelf,it usually isn't enough..... 😀

Hey Tomis, interesting thanks you. At the moment I'm making file handles one at a time. How do you go drilling the hole for the tang after turning the handle pairs? Cheers Russell

I would drill the hole first and you can use it for cone centar alinement.... Drilling the smallest hole you need.... much like handles for turning tools....😀
